    Just finished watching the opening ceremonies and it is just SPECTACULAR from start to finish, even despite the rain.

    Celine Dion, to top it off -- I felt the CHILLS from her voice. Her performance was stunning!!!

    Let's use this thread to discuss this year's Olympics taking place in Paris -- from controversies to the best moments.

    I've followed vaulting, gymnastics, swimming, surfing, tennis, and running.

    I typically keep it on in the background and watch whatever catches my eye. Since some of these athletes are extraordinary in what they can pull off.

    My favorite athlete has been Simone Biles.
     
    I've been watching quite a bit of it - absolutely wild Olympics this year!

    Really enjoyed watching the pool events as always, absolutely amazed by Canada's Summer McIntosh and her amazing performances this year.

    Absolutely gutted that our ladies' BMX legend lost it all to a fall in her last race...
     
    I like to follow the more "hidden" sports -- those that don't get much love, like artistic swimming, equestrian, rhythmic gymnastics, judo and table tennis.

    Artistic gymnastics got me on the edge of my seat since last week! I'm happy Simone Biles became the most decorated Olympian, and I'm happy Brazil's Rebeca Andrade got her gold medal in floor exercise. However, I enjoyed the men's gymnastics more, especially this year.

    I'm looking forward to the breakdance competition later this week!
     
    I would've liked to have watched the basketball events, but the Olympics are aired all over the day and when I get home from work there's usually less interesting stuff on.
     
    Y'all... I am currently watching the breaking (breakdance) competition and it is seriously the best thing I've ever seen to come out of the Olympics.
