[PokeCommunity.com] Food Fight #2 - Dunkin' Donuts vs Starbucks

Welcome to The Mall's Food Fight! Each week a food product or restaurant will be pitted - eh, get it? *cough* food puns *cough* - against another food product or restaurant to see which will come out on top. Make sure to tell us below which you think is better and remember: don't just vote, expand on your answers! We want to know why you are so adamant with your answer (:

In our first ever Food Fight, McDonalds showed that it was the Big Mac-daddy when it came to fast food and swept the floor with Burger King. If you have a matchup that you would like to see, send me a VM or PM and if your matchup gets chosen then an emblem will be given out as a reward!

This week, thanks to a submission from OuterTsuchinoko, we have two coffee and pastry giants brewing up a batte: Dunkin Donuts' and Starbucks. Which will come out on top? Only YOU can help determine which is superior!

    Without further ado:

Which coffee and pastry chain is overall better: Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks?

Dunkin' Donuts is like non-existent to me although I have heard of it, and we have Starbucks but they heavily downsized their business here to the point you'll likely never see a Starbucks most of the time. So, because I have known Starbucks for longer, it's the one I'm automatically voting for.

This should be Dunkin' Donuts vs Krispy Kreme, no? If you want to compare Starbucks to another company, it's Tim Horton's.

Either way, my answer is Dunkin' Donuts.

Krispy Kreme isn't too promiment in the Northeast, but a case could be made that DD isn't prominent in other areas. Can't win them all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Should have just done Honeydew lol

I voted Dunkin' Donuts. I love them so much and coming from New York they are all over the place. I've also worked at a total of five different Dunkin Donuts lol. Anyway I love everything there. The coffee is great, their breakfast items are very good too. My favorite being a sausage egg and cheese with bacon on a croissant. Their hashbrowns are also my favorite out of any fast food chain. But the donuts are the best part. I think I have tried every donut they have and when you go in the first half of the day the donuts are the best since their at their softest. Boston/Bavarian creme and chocolate glazed are my favorites.

I've had Starbucks coffee a lot too since where I live their are plenty of them. I like the coffee taste and I don't hate it, but I prefer DD. Starbucks tea is better. I really like the Chai from them. Never really had any pastries from them though, just a sample of what I think was a regular coffee cake the other day, it was good.

I admit I haven't really been to Dunkin Donuts because I get my donuts from various small businesses instead (I have various family members that worked in businesses that sells donuts). I've been to Starbucks a few times, but mostly for their pastries since the coffee is kinda expensive, lol. Still, because I never been to Dunkin Donuts my vote is Starbucks.

Dunkin Doughnuts isn't even here so I'll vote Starbucks lol

I've never heard of Tim Horton's or Honeydew before. I've only lived on the East Coast and Midwest of the US. Maybe those places aren't around those areas.

Although Dunkin Donuts rules the Northeast, Honeydew used to a prominent coffee shop which still has some stores here and there (at least in Massachusetts.) I know for a fact that Tim Horton's is very popular in Canada; I'm sure it's in other places in the United States as well, I just don't know where on the top of my head.

I feel Dunkin Donuts (before they make breakfast menu and sandwiches) they're drinks are ok, but when taste the donuts it's actually just pretty much cold and slightly hard it's like they just made it somewhere and shipped to the shops and it isn't tasty and I just enjoy the sandwich they offer. If your looking for best coffee then starbuck is your thing; a variety of pastries, good tasting coffee and I always enjoy Ice Choc in Grande size. So I enjoy more at Starbuck.

Starbucks!!! Their bagels are a lifeline for me in the morning-time. Plus, they make a great white chocolate mocha.

Actually many smaller Dunkin' Donuts do exactly that. The bigger DDs will bake up a bunch of donuts for their store and others and then trucks pick up the carts with trays filled with donuts to bring to the smaller DDs. When you get those shipped ones in the morning they are still pretty good to me. They do tend to stay fresh for a shorter period of time.

I may be able to drink Dunkin Donuts now.....but damn do I miss my Frappuccinos. I used to get green tea fraps everyday after my 4 hour intensive summer classes and they got me through ~<3

    Starbucks.

I still don't like they're donut even it's fresh. A fresh donut should be warm/hot and much to enjoy also the texturing isn't much good either.

If you really want to, you can always ask a DD employee if they can warm up a donut for you. There's a preset setting on their oven - flat bread I believe - which warms up anything for 12 seconds. That may be able to do the job if you actually want a warm/hot donut as you described.

Coming from a person who used to work at a DD (i.e. worst year of my life.)

I might try though, but not sure my DD in my country permit that

Hardly hear of DD here so Starbucks it is. Maybe it's more relevant in the US.

Most of the people who work at Dunkin Donuts around where I live are non-English speaking people, which is all fine and dandy for me. I have no hate for that. But I do have hate for the fact that my orders (all of which is on the menu and not customized) are usually never correct when I order something, so I stopped ordering things there past a donut, a bagel, and black coffee. There's a few stores here and there where there's a reliable person that usually works when I'm there who gets my order right. But I love their raw black iced coffee much more compared to Starbucks, and that's usually what I get when I go to Dunkin now. When I want a specialty drink, I go to Starbucks. When I want just black iced coffee, I go to Dunkin.

But because of the fact that my experience at Dunkin has almost always been less than stellar, I'm voting for Starbucks like a good white person.
