    I'm too tired to think of a funny title, sorry!

    I'm curious; has anyone here every tried to play through the storyline of a game with a team of more than six Pokemon? Why so many? Did you rotate through all of your members and were they roughly the same level?

    Actually I did that with my playthrough of Pokémon Y. I swapped a Talonflame out with Yveltal mainly because well it's a legendary so it's way more OP than Talonflame. Although don't get me wrong Talonflame was awesome. And because my party was around level 60+ I did have to grind a little.

    I have rarely ever done it because you'd have to train them quite a lot because the Exp. you get would be spread out so much more in comparison to having three or four Pokemon. I do quite a few challenges, and I like to go through them quickly, so I don't use more thatn 6 since training would take up a fair amount of time.

    Actually in X I used the Exp Share and ended up over-leveling my team, so I switched out my Pokemon quite a lot. I think I had nearly a dozen in that playthrough: Greninja, Talonflame, Lucario (the one from Korrina), Florges, Charizard, Furfrou, male Meowstic, female Meowstic, Lapras (at first for the surf animation, but then I kept her in the team most of the time), Malamar, Dragalge (got a female from WT and bred my own to train) and Aurorus.

    It was actually the only time I ever used more than six, but it was really fun. For my current run through AS, I'm still debating on whether to turn off the Exp Share and limit myself to six Pokemon, or just do the whole thing again {XD}

    Yep, definitely. Most recent would be Pokémon Y version, in which I've had about a total of eight; Lucario, Blastoise, Chesnaught, Gyarados, Charizard, Togekiss, Blissey, and Talonflame. They were all great in their own right (of them all, I would say Talonflame was my most favorite; it had Gale Wings ability, and with help of that, it was able to wreak through opponents with Brave Bird attack quite easily), and couldn't stand seeing myself only six of them; due to this, I wound up switching between all these team members every now and again. Thanks to them, I've had chance to win a ton of matches against friends.

    i have done it in one of the older games especially for each gym.

    No. I can just about manage balancing levels between a team of six, any more and I'd find it too difficult to keep up with. I used to play through games using a maximum of 4 or 5.

    No I've never thought of doing this. Honestly I hate switching Pokemon in and out of the pc so if I can avoid it I will. Sometimes just a team of 6 is hard enough depending on the game. For example in HG/SS the exp was so bad I started making teams of four.

    That's what I do with all of my teams. I put in as many as I need that I will be able to put to use. After all, in my eyes, all teams need some sort of bench, almost like football & basketball.

    When I do certain challenges, like Monotypes or Mono-Color runs, yes, I have ended up using more than six in total. In some goes it takes a good way through the game for me to decide what my final team going into the Elite Four and Champion will be. Likewise when I played through X first time, I had Talonflame in my party, but dropped it after I got my hands on another Houndour and already had a Crobat on me.
