4th Gen A G/S Remake?

Status
Not open for further replies.
Nintendo DSi revealed! (:
Now there just needs to be a "new GS remake coming 2009!!1" announcement, talking about how it will have features which make use of the 3 megapixel cam or something xD

No. No, no, no. I DO NOT WANT A G/S REMAKE AT ALL.

I want a Crystal remake.

For recent arguments I have to say that they should include Kanto, or at least some extra parts besides just Johto if a remake were to come out.

Johto is FAR too small to be in one game by itself. If anything they should at least make Johto bigger.

TBH, I wouldn't really want a GS remake to ultalise the DSi camera. Why? Because that could firstly make the GS remake (if it happened) exclusive to the DSi (although doubt that would happen if it were to include the camera function...). Secondly - what exactly would the camera have to do with a Pokemon game? It isn't Snap or anything. It would simply take up even more memory that could be used on something else, such as upgrading Kanto (so that half the routes aren't downsized).

i would so love to have a g/s remake, but it would be kind of tedious, because wouldnt it be hard to put all of the new pokemon plus even more new pokemon together? it would either become an extremely long or
just sad kind of game.

If they make a G/S remake that would have to add more events at the end, because it would be pointless to have kanto in them, because we already made red/blue remakes... -_-

Besides, the DSi could potentially offer this option - the ability to play past GB and GBC games. And what was G/S/C? A game boy Colour game... as of now it's not easy to tell if this will happen, but...

I want a Crystal remake.
Well, Nintendo DS would practically be forced to make Gold and Silver and before they make Crystal.
I would love for them to make all three; I just like collecting their games.

I would absolutely love for there to be a remake of the 2nd Generation.

I would guess that if the DSi is released, then they will make this.
It was sort of a chain; they pretty much made one game for each handheld.

They made 10 games for the Game Boy Color

7 for the GBA, and so far 5 for the DS.

That's just the ones I know about, I don't know about the ones I don't know about.

Actually DSi is decreasing the chance of GSC remake...
Do you know what are Wii Points? They'll be called Nintendo Points soon... Here's a reply I took from "Nintendo DS 2(?)" about Nintendo Points:
"Think about it, we have three prices: 200, 500, and 800 (and 0, but that's not important here). 200 for classic Game Boy, 500 for GBC, and 800 for some GBA, perhaps? If that actually happens, then we could even be seeing the old Pokemon games revived here..."

Since I don't have a Wii, Willl you explain this a little more.

Does that include new graphics, or the same old crappy ones?

What I was hinting at, Icicle. First piece 'against' a remake, although one shall have to wait and see.

The 'old crappy one', but don't call it that. Would be the 'original' or classic one.
Basically, one can buy a 'Wii Point card' to purchase new small games or old classics ones on the Wii. A 2000 point one costs about $30 here in Australia. What is confirmed for the DSi is that one will also be able to buy games from it in the same vein as buying games on the Wii, using the same point system. The question is: would GB games, and GBC games like GSC be available. If so, then suddenly there's a way for one to play GSC on your DSi.

Although certainly not helpful towards the chances of a remake, it wouldn't rule it out. There isn't a reason for them to simply release the classic verson via the shop on the DSi, AND make a remake too. The previous small hints that suggested a remake still exist, as they would still reap profit from both That I'm quietly confident about.

However, the only thing we can do is to wait and see for now; firstly if one would be able to play GSC on the DSi. Don't forget too that who says a remake wouldn't happen 5th gen as well? (Not that I want that to be the case as opposed to now...)

It could be possible that DSi increases the chance for a remake. Nintendo could offer the original games for 200 or even zero points to help promote the remake. For example, Massive Entertainment released the game Ground Control for free when they began promoting the release of Ground Control II: Operation Exodus.

Hmm, true. Again, it's up in the air. Then again, a remake would be rather similar, only you'd have to add in 3rd and 4th gen Pokemon, and possibly some extra features/places to visit like, umm... another bunch of islands. :/

Whee, speculation.

Acually your all wrong. I say nintendo will make gsc gba games and run on the fr/lg engines and instead of simply having fr/lg you would have fr/lg with johto!

Hmmm... There's a possibility that they would make a GBA version of the games, with the FR/LG engine, and sell it as "DSi Ware", like My Pokémon Ranch on the Wii (Look at the same fashion of crappy graphics).

I thought they stop making GBA games.(Unless they made a counterpart game for PSP and DS at the sametime.)

Thanks for directly ripping out a part of my post without quoting or giving credit. >.>" And one I specifically said I was going to edit, too.

Here, let me save you the trouble of trying to swipe text from my other post:

Look, we know that the DSi will be getting its own version of the Shop Channel, and we know the prices. Looking at the prices of current VC games, these match up nicely to what GB/GBC/GBA games would be priced at if they were to be released. Considering that this is a handheld, as well, the premise of finding a GB VC for the system isn't exactly far out there. So, on that, we could be seeing Gold, Silver, and Crystal released for such, only with stats and everything edited so that the Pokemon are compatible with D/P/P's EV system and everything (hey, they did it with Pokemon Snap to make it compatible with the Wii Message Board, so why not?). Then, as Lightning mentioned, we have them compatible with the DS games so that we can transfer the Pokemon over. It could also be evidence for seeing the Stadium games come out on the Wii VC, with the same compatibility.
