Hey all! I didn't know if this was in the right section, but it seemed appropriate to me and no one else was making it.

Anyways, Anime North (an anime convention located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is coming up super soon (it's in a week!) I know I'm going and I'm really psyched!
Some other awesome members from Pokecommunity have already gotten together and planned to go, too!

I was just wondering if there were any other members around here who happen to be going, too. If so, post here!
People who already know they're going can post about what they want to see or who they want to see, too! Or post your feelings about coming to the Con! Nervous? Excited? Anxious?

I just thought that this would be a good way to bring us together! We wouldn't want to leave anyone out~

    Post your opinions!

Edit: Just letting you guys all know, I'll be dressing as Judai Yuki from Yugioh GX. Soo.. if you see one, just ask if it's Kura.
Picture here for reference of Judai Yuki

    rofl, yeah, I'm going.

Originally I was gonna go to meet up with other people from this site while there, but some of them decided to bail on the whole idea. I made plans with a few "real-life" friends already to go up there a few months ago, and stay with this dude's aunt who lives in Toronto. To be honest, I can't stand anime, but the people I'm going with are all apparently into that thing, so...why not? Never been up to Canada before, so it'll be cool to check out, aside from just going to some anime convention that I really don't even have an interest in seeing.

If i happen to meet up with other PC members while I'm there, that's cool, but i won't be going there just to scope out the place looking for you :P

    Nice!! Well I'll be dressed as https://i197.photobucket.com/albums...gioh gx/jaden yuki/scan_gx21.jpg?t=1242449253
Jaden Yuki~ So if you see one, just ask if it's Kura~ :3 I'd be happy to say hi!

It's a pretty lively convention. If you don't like anime, it's still fun to scope out the events, see some art in artist alley, or play some videogames that they usually have hooked up.

Also, May 24th (the Sunday) is free Hamburger day at Harvey's (there's one right next to the building) and it's from 10:30 'till 3. So if you head there early you should be able to snag one before the lines get too big. :3 They have good burgers <3

I don't have the money to spare for such an endeavor, as much as I'd like to go. Also, I've never gone outside the US before; I wouldn't know how to go about getting whatever extra credentials I need. It's a shame, too, because I live in west Michigan, so it'd probably only take a few hours to get there.

Awhh that's unfortunate since it's so close! I would just think that you'd need a passport and valid driver's ID if you were to drive it. Maybe a passport and a health card or something, actually, if you were going with a bus. Well.. I think besides the passport, some other form of ID.

I've been to the US a few times, but I was young so I don't really remember what we needed, exactly!

Oh well.. but one day you should totally go! It's a lot of fun. There are tons of conventions in the US, have you been to any of those?

Nope, and for the same reasons: most of them are too far away, and I don't have the money.

Sometime it would be cool to hit up AN, but I'm probably going to Otakon again. It's going to rock.

I'm not a fan of anime but it's very close to where I live, so I'm thinking of maybe dropping by. Maybe meeting a few people who I am friends with and who I used to be friends with on this site. It'd probably be fun, but the person who I really wanted to see isn't going unfortunately, which is disappointing.

Ah well, regardless if I go or not, have fun everyone who does participate!

    Yes, hey! Awesome newbie here.

I'm going to be going to Anime North this Saturday. Though, I won't be dressing up as a character as me and my friend originally planned.

I'm actually going there to meet my best friend (who I met online), and a couple of other people that are my online friends from elsewhere. I'm EXTREMELY excited, and nervous at the same time.

Me, and my friend were talking about how it might be slightly awkward for us since it's different meeting each other in.. "real life". Though, I'm sure it'll fade within a few seconds.

And, I'd definitely love to run into you guys and talk. I'm planning on finding my friend through the phone, and what not. If you'd want to meet, just let me know. I can probably give you my number so you can find me.

And, I have a question. Are there any people that went PREVIOUSLY to Anime North?
I'm sure the place is huge, but I wanted to ask you guys exactly what place would be easier to meet with people. As in, a place that's noticeable and easy to find.

ALSO. I WANT TO BE PART OF THE CAT BUS. OMG. ARE ANY OF YOU GUYS GOING TO DO IT?

    ~ Serenity.

Yeah I went in my Corolla in 2007. It was fun : P

There were people who took pictures of my car cuz it had an Alberta plate on it lol.

    ROFL.
I'd definitely take a picture of your car's plate.

YOU DROVE ALL THE WAY TO TORONTO? Wow!
How long did it take you?

I shall be there this year, as always~

@22sa: omg you drove to TO from Alberta? :| that's... that's either major dedication or crazy.

The easiest place is probably at the entrance to the dealer's room. For crowd control, there's only one entrance and it's not a huge area. There are staff there too so it's not deserted or anything. Plus, if you aren't sure exactly how to get there, you can more or less ask *anyone* you see and they'll direct you to the entrance. It's a pretty safe meeting place. :] I've used it as a rendezvous point for when my group gets separated quite a few times.

Nope, I didn't go. I wanted to, but it wasn't really in my budget unfortunately.

But I'll be saving up so I can go next year! =D

Or I could also go to Otakuthon in Montreal at the end of the month. Though I think I'll be waiting for Anime North 2010. ^^

I had planned to go but I got caught up with some issues and couldn't go. But maybe next time~
