Any Pokémon you think (or used to think) don't look like Pokémon?

Sometimes we see a Pokémon and think it doesn't really look that much like a Pokémon, at least to us personally. Have you ever thought of any Pokémon that way before? Doesn't mean you still need to feel that way - could be something you thought looked out of place at first, but then you got used to it!

Aside from most of the Ultra Beasts, where "not looking like Pokemon" was an intentional design goal, I'd have to say Staryu and Starmie. Neither of them have any eyes, or anything resembling a face, unlike virtually every other non-Ultra-Beast Pokemon. I would hazard a guess that the Starmie line was created very early on in Gen 1's development, before Pokemon's design guidelines were worked out.

Nacli looks like a Minecraft version of the Super Mario Mushroom powerup... and the midstage looks like an actual Minecraft mob, as already mentioned.

Ceruledge and Armarouge look like Mega man characters.

The gen 8 fossils aside from Arctozolt, which is the only one of the 4 that still somewhat looks like a Pokemon.

Tandemaus/Maushold feel very out of place to me as far as design goes.
And there's Charjabug which has me a bit divided on it, but has always felt oddly out of place to me as well.

I agree that Staryu and Starme were always abit strange as they lacked a face but in general I do feel like the artstyle and design is radically different than the original Pokemon. So it felt like every generation they look abit less like Pokemon before them to me at least. Since I grew up initially with only the first 151 for awhile.

the baby forms for backxcalibur and shroodle looked insanely fakeamony to me when I first started looking into gen 9 mons

Currently? Floragato could have been lifted directly from the Felynes from the Monster Hunter series and no one can change my mind!

It took me a while to get used to Klefki, but it grew on me after doing so well in many online battles.

I still don't like Vanilluxe because it's just designed as food. Most other pokemon have more of an explanation for looking like an object, Voltob is some sort of machine built that way, Chandelure and Honedge are ghosts possessing objects, even Klefki is going off of fairy nonsense as an animated object. But Vanilluxe just an ice pokemon so it just happens to look like icecream with treats all on its own.
