SAO 16.5 in the flesh, if you know what i mean.
***********

out of curiosity, i actually found that there is indeed a RWBY Game, and i just started re-watching this series a week ago for personal reasons (;)).

Its a neat little Hack n Slash game that i would definitely pick up. After all, Blood dancing with Ruby is possibly the next best thing.

So this means we'll die in real life too if we die in the game? =P
Of course, that's why they only get 208 participants, no one will mind if there is only such a small amount of sudden disappearances =D

It's by NISA, which is eh, and I would much rather it've been picked by Xseed or some like, but hell, this is pretty big in itself. If demand's created, it could mean very big things for the franchise and even doujin as a whole- maybe. Either way, I'm really happy to hear this.
XSEED-sama is way busy this year and no one else has the balls, I would presume.

At least with NISA we've got an overpriced store-exclusive special edition to look forward to! :D

...but at least it'll be physical in BOTH the US and EU territories, none of this digital-only bullshit.

I'm more interested in Criminal Girls 2 myself. Creepy game mechanics, but a solid battle system with really nice overworld graphics

And solid censorship is what you forgot to add :P
Oh, it wasn't THAT bad...you just had to work for your not-particularly-lewd images by batting away all that ineffective pink smoke. Unless the original version CG was more explicit than that? I dunno.

I wish more games would be like Riviera: The Promised Land when it comes to censoring - leave the images in, but make you work damned hard for them. Mad button mashing is a go! Now I really want to play that game again for some reason

We're actually probably going to be seeing a lot of NIS games coming to PC this year. I think the most necessary is a port of Soul Nomad or the La Pucelle/Makai Kingdom updated rereleases, the latter because it's far too obscure for how solid it is and far too expensive/exclusive to live on apart from isos and emulation. Related, CC2 where're my .Hack//G.U. ports.

What I'm looking forward to, though, is Phantom Brave, though. It's my favorite NIS title and, yeah, but that they did actual work on Disgaea PC's graphics (which releases today) graphics gives me hope that after 12 years and several ports we'll get a better looking, blurryless/sharpless Phantom Brave. I NEED it so badly.

Oh, and unrelated but very related to the CrimGirls deal, we'll probably be seeing Monster MonPiece on PC as well. I expect Osu! levels of mouse gyration.

Bloodborne was a nice return to form for FromSoftware in terms of monster design...Dark Souls II was absolutely dismal; it was about 90% dudes in armour. It was a very weak game overall - not remotely difficult, painfully linear, and very drab - but the designs in particular were very disappointing. Hopefully Dark Souls III follows more in the footsteps of Bloodborne than its predecessor.

As for being scary...well, I've seen worse. Nothing tops Drakengard's Grotesqueries. xD
I wouldn't exactly say it's a "weak" game. Sure, compared to Dark Souls and Bloodborne, you can definitely feel the absence of Miyazaki's influence, but as a game itself it's a load'o'fun, especially the King DLCs, which more than made up for the ease of about half the base game. That being said, it's easily the weakest of the Soul series. It has a ton of things it got right combined with a lot of things that didn't really need to be changed, combined with overall lackluster boss/enemy designs in most cases (standout bosses for me include Smelter Demon, Looking Glass Knight, Vestalt, and Nashandra; and these are just the base game). Dark Souls 2 could very well be the Devil May Cry 2 of this decade in terms of being a step down from it's preceeding game.

And I still want to punch the a-hole who came up with that Soul Memory matchmaking system. Bumping up your character to higher tiers just for harvesting souls - sometimes just to buy items - remains one of the biggest textbook cases on how NOT to make an online matchmaking system.

Ah, I never bothered with the DLC, so I wouldn't know about that. I guess it was an average enough action RPG, but I've played much better, and I suppose the mediocrity did feel rather pronounced considering what it followed, so maybe it wasn't QUITE as bad as it actually felt. I suppose I went in expecting that same level of suspense and nightmare fuel enemies and came away disappointed when I wandered through what could have been a 3D Castlevania knock-off...

Did somebody mention Drakengard 1 aka one of the Edgiest (in a really well executed manner) PS2 game ever? (I can read dem quoted posts >;))) )

I just happen to have a copy of Draken1 and I would love to rip and tear through The Empire's hordes of iron clad knights with the Mutest Murder Machine. I remember not really enjoying the gameplay despite the huge resemblance to a "Warriors" game with Dragon Riding, which was the enjoyable part, but it was the story that kept me going. It was a succubus, or an incubus, or a MANCUBUS oh wait, forget the mancubus. It was one of those games that got me playing despite the rather shoddy "Warriors hack and mashing" because the story, presentation, and all other narrative elements were so luring. Definitely need to play this game again.

Drakengard 1, where pleasantries are pretty much non-existent. Everything about Draken1 is edge. The good edge. Not the edge that we laugh about (My Immortal, Hatred, Shadow, DmC Duhnte) but the edge where there is almost a complete lack of happiness and humor, unless you possess a very dark sense of humor almost or even to a higher degree than myself.

Drakengard is my favourite PS2 title! It's got the most ineffectual localisation ever, because even with the more obvious references to the habits of certain characters removed, they're blatantly obvious about it, and you can't really censor giant babies falling from the sky. It's the kind of game that would get an Asian physical release with English subtitles and never see Western shores now. Plus, flying around on Angelus and blasting things to hell was a great way to break up the monotony of hacking them to pieces on the ground. Did I mention the soundtrack? Something like ten or twenty classical pieces overlaid into one...or just a lot of creepy bells and chanting. Beautiful.

It's a shame the second game in the series was so shit, it followed on from the most boring ending - the only one where the world doesn't end - and it was generally very tedious and...normal. The insanity of the original game was where most of its appeal came from. The third game was very...ehhhh. It was better than the second, but then ANYTHING would have been an improvement over that. NieR was a better continuation. Heaven help PlatinumGames if they mess Automata up...

True...they never should have made it without him, really. Drakengard is not mainstream, and nor should it ever have been attempted to make it so, all they succeeded in doing was making a pretty awful action RPG with a forgettable cast and a terrible plot. Taro should have been allowed to have his space dragon game! Although using the alien race excuse would have made 90% of the game a lot less weird...probably. Maybe. A little.

One thing i like about Draken3, well, Zero is totally my type. The female protag does make me enjoy my killing sprees as much as I did with Caim. Forget about Nowe, he's dumber than a block of cheese to be even in the "Xin League of Supermurderers"

PlatinumGames working on NieR Automata... please add a blade mode so i can tap and hold down my L1 button to gleefully slice up dem mooks and rip their balls out, so i can teabag those dying mooks with their own severed organs. Then again I highly doubt that PG would be that sick and twisted... oh and add your Jetstream Sam expy as well, and also add some extremely catchy character music that we can all sing along in karaoke night. I'm im listening to Sam's theme while typing this.

The NieR: Automata guy vs Jetstream Sam. We can only dream ladies and grunts.

Touhou 14.5 - Urban Legend in Limbo's coming to PS4

https://gematsu.com/2016/02/touhou-project-fighting-game-urban-legend-limbo-coming-ps4

WHATTHEHELLISGOINGON

This is pretty big, because despite being a Fighter spin-off, 14.5 is an official Touhou title, unlike the 3 fanmade games that were released on it last year. There are a lot of reasons, as a fan, that this is so surprising, but probably the biggest thing is that this'll be the first official title to make it anywhere other than PC. And a smart one, too, since this one's pretty unique.

I mean, it's no Scarlet Weather Rhapsody or Hisoutensoku, but it oozes quality and'll definitely be like nothing you've ever played before. And the music's pretty great.

So uh

Buy it.

ZUN has already ascended beyond godship and looks to make his children take over consoles as well.

Speaking of Touhous, I just realized how i thought Touhou 13 would be the "last" then more and more popped out. I only know Touhou from a couple of friends and ironically from MUGEN (aka Fighting Game Engine). MUGEN Touhou characters were often OP compared to most other characters.

I just realized THIS LATE that Chaos Legion (aka Devil May Cry with "Strategy Elements") has a PC version and I'm pretty ashamed to be torrent hunting for such. Inb4Feds

Arcade fighting games...*shudder*

It's cool the PS4 is getting something like that, but there's no overcoming my distaste for that particular genre. I'll stick to the bullet hell titles. xD

When Lu Bu smiles or has the "OwO" face, you either bow down or kneel down. Also Lu Lingqi.
Spoiler:

I remember maining Youmu in the Touhou fighting games because she's a swordsman. Then i Sakuya was my secondary.

On the other hand, people here at VG and dcc who still like watching lets plays should check out SpicyWaffle. A Lets play team that I've been checking out since last month.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
