Bad usernames.

I totally agree with Minzy.
Also, constantly changing your Nicknames, which is common on some Forums.
Really, those Name Changes mostly lack originality, and nobody knows who you were again, especially when people start a fad, where at least 10 or more people change their name into, let's say, "Link".
You'll get stuff like "Link Master", "Link1337", "ShadowLink", "___Link___", etc.

I mostly hate Nicknames with some (platform-specific or Font-specific) Symbols, like hearts, cakes, Paedo Bear, Play Icon, ":3", etc.

Honestly, I don't mind usernames with numbers in them at all, but I like it when usernames actually have a connected meaning to them, and meaning ones that aren't just made up on the fly as one joins an online community or a social network.

People with numbers or filler letters in their name.
A guy I know on Xbox is called

xxx420Blazedxxx

that just makes me sad. The weed smoking is fine but the xxx or each end is annoying. It annoys me enough my GT has an x on both ends and I want to change that ASAP when I get the funds.

I've literally seen people with names like 12040234 just because.

1. How the hell will you remember that?
2. How is that meaningful in any way, shape or form?

I mean, I love my name. I just got it changed to this today. But even before that it was still something good.

I think it's usually stuff like underscores and filler stuff like the "xxx" I've been seeing in names here. Numbers are alright, but if you have like more than 3, it is kinda going overboard imo. Plus I like names that have some connection to the person using.

In addition to what's said above, I think a bad username is one that isn't personal and memorable. :/ I want to remember you people, I don't want you to fade away into... was that __Zelda_Lover_2i81941 or Zelda_Lover_99??

Well, I used to be on a Forum with a person who was called "Yoshidude99" and "Yoshidude256".
Meanwhile, on yet another Forum, another person was called "Yoshidude4".

Surprising, both Forums called all of them "Yoshi", and there were all different people.
On that first Forum, try saying something to 'Yoshi', who would respond? Yoshidude99, or Yoshidude256?

Minzy hit it right on the spot!

I find fillers the worst.

In my opinion, bad usernames are those without much thought put into creating them or those that are seriously lacking in creativity. Numbers and fillers are really not encouraged, but if they hold a special meaning to the user, it's perfectly fine. The numbers, not the fillers. Fillers are terrible. :I Underscores are fine for the most part, but only one should be used if absolutely necessary.

xXHot_stuff97Xx <--- names like that I find to be the worst. Especially because MMOs are filled with them.

For some reason, I just can't seem to stand numbers in usernames, regardless of how many there are. ): I mean, it's all right to have numbers, but… Well, aside from that, I don't like underscores either, as well as special characters such as a star or musical note.

An overuse of numbers, I would say. No more than 4-5. Also, a lot of punctuation used in the name.

I find it odd when people use ___. Also, a username and then numbers. Makes it seem like they aren't very creative. like, "whatever" and then "whatever26". Whatever26 is just copying whatever.
My username is an incredibly obscure reference. My name is not Dan. I like the idea of an obscure reference, because if someone understands it, you have something in common with them and you could be friends!

Overuse of numbers, letters and symbols.
I think users like that just rushed to register for some purposes and be inactive after.

I agree with what CC said, mostly. Jumble of characters that just stand out for being bad. I don't care about numbers unless they're excessive.

I don't really like lack of capitalization (or overuse of capitalization) and more than two words mashed together without a space or underscore is too hard to parse. Even worse if lack of punctuation where it would be needed. So to me something like hithereimjack would be, like, the worst name.

I've never been a fan of usernames with "The" in the beginning like: The Nightmare, or The Cyber Warrior. Unique names stick to you a lot more and numbers aren't as bad if you type them out. For example, the name Seven, eleven or Twenty7 all rank pretty high in the Cool Username Scale... Well, at least to me.
