Beijing Olympics

I'm from New Zealand but since our basketball team didn't make the Olympics then I'm gonna root for the favourites...Team USA, the Redeem Team.
Their game against China's in a few hours. Dwight Howard does poorly against Yao Ming usually so I'm looking for Team USA to exploit China's poor perimeter D.

But of course I do support some of my hometown athletes...Valerie Vili will take the shotput gold home...and the Tall Ferns women's basketball team FTW. [close game against Mali today, by the way]

The live opening ceremony was sweet. Yeah, I care about the performances, and everyone's for that matter.

Go team, erm, England?
I don't why I'm cheering, we're so rubbish XDD

But I only particularly care about swimming and gymnastics. ^^

Medal counts so far: The US, China, and (I think) South Korea are in the top 3 as of right now.

Team USA FTW!

I'm also rooting for China though. There's something about the country that fascinates me.

I remember when the Winter Olympics came to Salt Lake, that was pretty awesome since I live there. :)

Micheal Phelps is gonna kick butt like normal! Can't wait!

U.S.A. ALL THE WAY!

USA is going to dominate at beach volleyball... They just beat Japan 2-0 in yesterday's match.

And Michael Phelps did it again! Gold medal.

Aww... Michael Phelps came in 2nd to Switzerland. ;_;

...but he beat his own world record the first time. :D

I'm rooting for him. :3

That match was a qualifier for the medal round. As of August 11, 0200 UTC The top three medal leaders are the United States of America with nine medals, People's Republic of China with eight medals, and Republic of Korea with five.

Checked the standings again, and Team China has pulled away by 1.

who saw Michael Phelps yesterday? He was a beast! Along with Park-Tae-Hwan.

Oh, the swimming relay race yesterday was completely epic, five different records were broken, and the US victory over France by 0.08 seconds was awesome.

And today's basketball match between Spain and China... bufff!
I hadn't enjoyed a match so much in years.

Go Team USA! Man, Michael Phelps is really amazing! Winning 11 gold medals so far. I think I will watch some of it today and tomorrow since I am off. Didn't get to watch the opening though, I was at work. I heard it was awesome though.
