    Have you ever had someone tell you that you spend to much time on the computer or playing video games etc...and you need to get a life? Then you told them something along the lines of "But computer (etc...) IS my life!"

    I've sorta had that happen. My parents think I spend to much time on computer, video games, reading manga, and watching anime.

    Yea its happen to me before, but I still do it sometimes not as much. Like some days I would be on myspace for the whole day

    Yeah...my family can't accept that being on here is the only thing I can do..unless they want me to roam the streets and get pregnant and then end up old and sore. But the computers the only thing keeping me sane...like my family smokes to keep them sane. XD

    I guess, sort of. I am very very shy IRL and I feel talking to people over the computer gives me a chance to break out of my shell a bit more. A lot of the time I'm on I'm actually being creative, drawing or writing, which can never be a bad thing! :)

    Yeah I've have it happen numerous times also, but why can't parents accept computer IS my social/educating/fun in one? I guess it's since they hadn't had computer when my parents were young so they won't understand that computer, games, forums and watching Animé is my life. They try to get me off numerous times, but I think they're starting to realize it can't be helped in my case xD

    I hear it a lot, but mostly from my friends because we all agree we, for the most part, lack lives. XD; I rarely hear it seriously, though, and when I do, it doesn't bug me. :\ Luckily my parents and those close to me (...for the most part) realise that the stuff I like and my interests usually tend to suck up most of my time. :B My parents don't really care so long as I don't fail my courses and such.

    lol That was funny. xD;

    And no, it doesn't really happen. I can talk around everything my parents tells me without saying such obvious things. It is true they have no understanding or respect for my online life, and practically every other one of my hobbies, but I never listen, because, well, I can't. xD;

    Everytime my parents see me on the computer its "you spend too much time. . ." or "you watch too much T.V . . " I get bored of the same thing being said to me everyday and wish they stopped because its what i really like doing and everybody has their interests and habbits! XD

    Not often. xD Actually, my parents are really the only people who know how much time I actually spend on the computer, and what I actually do on here. They don't really like it, but coming on the computer and talking to everyone helps me IRL more than they know. They don't bring it up often, anyway.

    Quite often. Of course, if I happen to lose my job, I can just brandish my coworker's invitation to start a website and that'll shut them up.

    Oh, yeah, continuously too. ;o;

    Yeah, I'm so shy IRL, probably most of my friends are here...

    No. My friends never say that to me. Although my brother occasionally does... But I don't mind him.

    Plus, like some others, I'm really shy in real life. I don't like talking to strangers... O_o

    my friends dont care really. They never come over anyway.

    If parents count, well...my parents always tell me that I play too much video games or I spend too much time online.

    Are you kidding me? My parents are almost always at work, and my father travels a lot so I hardly see him but every time I do, he never passes up the opportunity to tell me how lazy I am and how I should be playing sports and doing other outdoor activities. I don't go out much so my parents have to find more creative punishments for me as grounding has proved to be utterly pointless. What they do instead is snatch the power cable for my Playstation 2. That doesn't affect me much either since I hardly play Playtsation at all these days (plus I got an extra power cable stashed away :D) but they don't need to know that.

    All in all I think they're probably right about me spending a lot of time on the computer (I don't know if I'd say it's 'too much' time though) but it can't be helped. I get good grades, don't drink, don't do or sell drugs, so why can't they just be happy about that?

    Nor really...I think that my parents prefer to be at home on the computer rather than going out with friends and stuff. They don't really approve of drinking, so I'm sure they're happy that there isn't a possibility of me doing that while I'm at home online. Sometimes they'll be the odd comment of "you're always on that ___ computer!", but that hasn't happened recently.

    Nah, never really had that problem. I spend a good amount of time online, but there have been long periods of time when I've rarely ever been online. But I have an active social life, I'm out with friends most weekends and keep in touch with friends I don't see as often over the phone. So I have a fairly varied life.

    Besides, when I'm on the computer it's usually because I'm doing something, either studying or working on games, or maybe just playing games. And my family and friends realise that.

    Umm, not really. I'm not totally obssessed but I know people who spend 24/7 on their PC.
