I have been wondering Ive seen a few people with Colored Custom User Titles (Not just Mods and staff admins) So Im kinda wondering how could I get one too?

Nope. It's only available to staff members. I had the same question a few months ago.

It's not available to only staff, I've seen some regular users with it.
You just gotta have connections, brah.

It's only for staff, sorry I know unfair right, even if you enter the right coding to color your title, then it would not work, + The space you get to type in a title is to small.

It means that they used to be staff and kept their usertitle like that. I doubt connections would help, or else that's unfair, as many members would then ask and beg and ahh.

I'm hoping that I read that wrong... Unfair? Seriously? How "fair" would it be to the administrators? (who are the only ones capable of changing usertitles to custom colors, formatting, and so on.) They've got enough trouble changing names. Having members request usertitles and for every minor change/detail would be hell for them.

Blade nailed it: ex-staff are allowed to keep it, and staff also have the privilege. Nothing less. There are no "connections." D:

It's just if the person enters the coding herself, that's what I think is unfair, but I was using it loosely, so don't look to much into that.

Can all staff change title colors or just higher staff?

    Oh, okay.

Only administrators (AA and up -- because they have to log into the Admin Control Panel to customize it) can add the coding to usertitles and such. Staff such as moderators and super moderators have to request.

    Tell me about it! XD

Anyway, if they allowed regular users to have the colour of their names changed, then it would be mental.
It would be a waste of time anyway!

One of the points in having different coloured titles for staff is so they stand out!

We're actually talking about the usertitles, not actual names xD

Sorry, I worded that wrong! XDDDD
    I know you mean that!

I referred to BeachBoy's point about the names and my mind just carried on thinking about it! Hahaha. But I do mean titles! They still stand out :P

Were it not such a blatant security risk, I'd ask the admins to allow users to make such changes within the UCP, but to do that would require a modification to the code to allow HTML codes in that field, as well as allowing much more character space for user titles in general. Since this forum has never allowed HTML in posts, signatures or anything, I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.

Personally Our only hope would be to have our resident code genius cook up a module that allows certain vB codes to be used in a usertitle. But since that particular administrator is busy with other projects, I dont see that happening anytime soon, and the staff is hanging on to colored usertitles as a staff perk most likely anyways.

Yeah it might seem unfair but meh, personally I dont give two wags about a colored usertitle. n.n
They deserve it more anyways IMO.

Though I would like to see a little more space in the usertitle field so people can put more than just a few words. X3 (that wouldn't be a risk in my opinion)

I've got an idea, maybe Supporters that are ranked 5 tier could be allowed to request in a thread in the Supporters section.
Cause that would make it more fair. Besides, if it's only the staff that have the custom usertitles, then why not the 5 tier Supporters?
After all they've donated and stuff, so don't ya think they should get a bit of an award for it? ;)

Just think of it, that way the normal members won't be able to request for one unless they're a 5 tier Supporter.

    Now I think that's a great idea. d('-'d)
