Yeah, I think I was just a little too hyper that night. It did make for a fun conversation though.

Has anyone else ever been inconvenienced by the lack of a computer for an extended period of time?

yes, very much so. a month or so ago I was without my Macbook Pro due to a screen replacement for 3 weeks, In the meantime I wss stuck using my Dad's old Acer laptop. It was so bad I could hardly use GIMP on the thing.
 
At least you had a backup laptop, Gerri. Currently I have no computer to use, but I have internet access via the Wii. I suppose it's not that bad when you plug a keyboard in the back, but I do miss being able to copy and paste, have multiple windows open, and spell check. ;.;

It's been about a week and a half since my laptop has been in the shop. I'm about half way through my ordeal!

you still probably have it better than I, the Acer I was using was a Laptop that was designed to run Win98, but was barely running XP home. either way it was torture for me since when I took m comp in, they said it would take about a week, turned out to be 3.
 
Not trying to be competitive with the whole "who had it worse" scenario, but the employees up at the shop I bought it from said it could take three weeks. Let's see how long it's really going to take. xD

What's actually wrong with your computer? Because I always prefer fixing it myself than sending it in...

A few weeks ago, I was on a holiday, where my modem (3 Wireless Broadband) didn't get reception. So I was without any internet access for a week. That wasn't too bad, but It was sort of irritating. I also take my laptop to school and use it there, so I'd have major problems if I couldn't use it.
 
The motherboard in my laptop completely fried.

I can honestly say I have no idea how it occured as I always take such good care of it. I make sure there aren't too many needless things installed and I manage what I save to it. Heck, I even bought a cooling mat in order to keep the darn thing from over-heating!
(Technology hates me. Too bad I love it, huh? xD)
 
Not that bad, but I have no internet on my com atm...All we needa do is either buy a long ethernet cable or a wireless thingy for the computer. :O
And I have no keyboard on the Wii.
I just don't have time to go shopping atm, well I have time when the shops close ._. :P
