Yeah but you're old, Don. :)

Actually my sister's older than you so w/e.

I'm the youngest out of all of them. Which means more money in the bank for me when I turn 18.

I'm a third, I have 3 brothers and only 2 of my 8 cousins are boys. I have no nieces or nephews yet.

Of course, Chris would read back and notice that. I didn't even think about it when I posted that. Stupid innuendos.

I have 2 step brothers (one older than me) and a sister. Being the oldest sometimes sucks, especially when you get stuck babysitting.

My mum called me today in a fit telling me not to get a flu shot this year, something about them being linked to early onset Diabetes. O well, I guess I'll just have to revert to the ol' plenty of tea and bundling up for winter.

Wow... really?

I personally would be more concerned with not catching the flu, since diabetes can be regulated as a condition. That and flu shots only come around once a year.

I already have plenty of people who could be called experts on diabetes that I'm related to anyways, since it's a genetic thing from my mother's family (my grandpa had it, my mom has it, two of my cousins have it, and one or both of my aunts on her side have it, among other cases that I may not be aware of).

well, my dad has it. My guess is that she wants to try and hold off any ways that could increase my chances of getting it or trigger something that would cause it to develop early. I really don't feel it's that big of a deal if I get the Flu shot or not, as long as I take the proper precautions (bundle up, wash hands frequently, drink plenty of tea and have one of those Airborne things before work) I should end up fine throughout the Flu season.

It's just that I live with two school-age students (who're both at high-risk for catching it because schools are a haven for multiplying viruses).

My mom is concerned about me having pulled the unlucky draw from the gene pool and ending up with diabetes, but knows I know what can happen if it isn't managed properly.

It is when your grandparents are watching the computer when it happens.
