I'm still against sending it to Microsoft and dropping over $140, waiting months and getting it back only to find out that it still has the problem.

That's why I've been searching for information on how to fix it at home. Surprisingly, there are a few people who have done that and have made videos and DVD, along with tutorials showing how to fix it.

That really depends on where it's RRODing. If you can still boot the Xbox, but it dies on starting a game/after a while, then you should have an easier time. You'll need to re-apply the thermal paste and put some non-metal washers on the heatsink bracket. I'd then recommend on of the add-on coolers that plugs into the back.

I just found out it was Lady gaga and feel like an idiot but oh well.
What's with this Rrod thing? Isn't that sorta big enough to be fixed before they're released and then fixed for free if it happens to get out? :/

You'd really like to think so. A bit like the Nvidia chipsets that used to kill themselves (in almost exactly the same way). Neither HP or Nvidia would take the blame.

That's why I stick to gaming on a desktop. If the GPU dies, I RMA it with the wonderful Sapphire, while I use a spare. If the board dies, Gigabyte will take care of it.

I have a ps3 I play it every day.

lesee, all I have is The world ends with you, FF3 & 4, Pokemon Platinum & SS, & super princess peach

I have no idea where my DS is lol.

I still have that old fat silver DS. I don't play it enough to get a new, proper one.

My brother actually has two of the original silver DS units... one he bought and one I gave to him when I got my DS Lite. He has two so he can trade Pokemon between his various versions. I might add that the hinges are damaged on both of them.
