Well, I'd change people's usernames if I could BUT NO I CAN'T. :(

Mod group should have admin permissions tbh but not really, everything is fine how it is lol.

Custom usertitles. And I mean with colors and stuff. That would be awesome. Why can't we have that?

It's because of HTML. You know how the admins feel about HTML in the forum. Besides, to have those, they have to be edited in the Admin CP because you need the codes. And the character limit doesn't help.

I know the feeling. I once tried to add a gold-colored usertitle with italics on another forum (Because I have elevated permissions etc) and I didn't nearly have enough room. I still had to end the italics before I ran out of room.

So I just asked the admin to add it for me. xD

In my forum, I am the admin right? So, to fit the HTML codes, I lengthen the charlimit and after that I put it back to the usual. That was before when I knew you could do that in the Admin CP. Epic fail tbh...

I think the only point of other forums is to design skins on for PC tbh. Very little are as successful as PC, and you're better off just making this forum better imo. :x

On the other hand, though, remember where PC started, even though I was not around then.

Things have changed a lot since then though. And chances are with the success of PC, the other forums won't really... get that far, unless they're already established like Serebii etc.

Yeah but the success rate isn't very high. :x So just kinda, idk. Well, if it's just for a group of friends, that's fine, but a full-scale thing probably won't end up working out. XD;

New Pokemon forums have nothing to offer that the bigger and better forums don't already offer anyway. Sure, you may find a deeper sense of community in the smaller forums, but that's really the only benefit.

That's probably it. When I come to a smaller forum, but still active enough, I tend to find myself finding nice things about people there. Not to mention how the staff of smaller forums tend to act differently, usually for the better. Things get more approachable when you don't have a lot to worry about.

Many times most times I find that the staff of smaller, or at least newer, forums isn't at all as capable and just as the staff on PC. Because here, staff is carefully handpicked, while on newer forums they sometimes assign people staff positions just for the heck of it.

Hohoho!

On a small YGO forum I used to go to, the staff team was determined by a voting method that the whole forum took part in.

I imagine that would work for smaller forums just fine but I can't imagine that working here. Some popular members would never be good staff members and some really great staff members were not known at all when they were chosen. :P There is some overlap but generally, I think handpicking is always the way to go for staff.

But small forums don't even need that many staff. I always cringe when I see a forum with less than 100 people and there are like 4 admins, 3 smods, and a whole bunch of mods. Just... no... you're overstaffing and that's bad. ;_;

Actually, PC started out as a compilation forum. :P It was the "home forum" of multiple websites together, so it had a larger visitor base to draw from in the first place and was doing something different from everyone else because of it. (This was way back when it was unheard of to have a forum unattached to a website.)

At one time, PHO was rather established and prominent. Now it's kinda in dismay. We're currently trying to fix the leaks and whatnot though. It's surprising how easy it is for a forum to practically drop dead.

Wait a second, what's PHO? *doesn't know much about forums*

I was part of a small Pokemon forum before. It lasted about a year before it crashed and burned because the head admin became drunk on power. He modded me without me even wanting the position, then talked trash about me because I wasn't "contributing to the site." I cut ties completely with him and his forum soon after.

Heh. I think I have already seen one first hand. :P Still brings me memories, good and bad.
