How tough is your computer? What can it stand up to? How much has it been through like crashes and repairs?

For me my Macbook Pro has stood up to a snapple spill and nothing happened except for a stained carpet -_-. For my Dell it literally has been through hell but always manages to come back. First we have the initial breaking where too much has happened and it became unusable and we had to call up Dell to get it fixed because the XP Disc they gave us did no good as the computer thought it was Windows 98. Then my Hard Drive died on me and we had to get a new one. Then about a month or two later the Video Card died on me and we had to order a new one. Then I tried OS x86 and that cleared my Hard Drive. Then I downloaded a couple viruses and had to install XP on a seperate partition. THen with the HP desktop it hasn't been through much. We just went to Vista too soon with the Express upgrade and we recovered right away back to XP. THe Compaq laptop however has been through a little more. Between my multiple attempts at putting XP on it and viruses it's stood up like a champ. And now through a lot of troubles I managed to put XP on it. yay.

So what have you guys been through.

My Dell that I had before the Lenovo I'm using now went through a lot. When I was still in high school, I brought it all of the time and used it. I tripped over some cables that I had connected to it and it fell to the floor (the hard tiled floor) and amazingly worked fine. It's been dropped onto other types of floors (not as hard, though) and still worked fine. I've even dropped it again onto the tile floor here in my dorm room. It is still working fine.

The Lenovo hasn't been through as much. Here recently, it slid off of my desk during class, hit the carpet right below my desk, bounced off of it, and landed on the tile floor (the lecture hall was almost like a staircase). It didn't take it as good as the Dell, as it was off whenever I picked it back up. Luckily, it's still working just fine.

I try to be as careful with my computer as I possibly can...but sometimes that doesn't go so well.

I don't put any of my computers through any physical endurance.
My old one only died so many times because of my ignorance in the past.

Nothing its brand new. But it is so tough that after 2 roundhouse kicks chuck norris broke his foot. Sorry ijust had to throw it in.

My laptop has survived over 6 throws-to-the-floor by my sister. Sure, it can't hold itself up and the screen is cracked, obviously, but the fact it's still running is absolutely amazing to me. (I have a Dell Inspiron 1525) We've got a monitor for it, but jeeez, still trucking strong. XD!

My last laptop survived countless drops to the ground and a bottle of Pepsi splashed on its keyboard, but luckily for me it didn't survive getting thrown down the stairs (long story, not pretty). My new laptop has survived a couple of falls, but I've been keeping better care of it than my other one.

I tripped over the cord when I was charging my laptop. It fell off the table and part of the... coating chipped off. :D And a couple of other falls that did no damage.

Oh yeah how could I forget that. I once dropped the cpmpaq off the bed and chipped the corner. We also have the time I dropped it on the coffee table and hit the floor and the screen was deStroyed. I will post a pic later.

My Dell has stood up to a bit, I guess. Not extreme things, but I did spill a glass of water over the keyboard once. Two of the keys are missing on it. I tend to drop it a lot while I'm working on it, whether I trip over the cord or just bump it off.

I think it's on its last leg, though.

I've not really done anything to mine, though my MacBook has travelled with me on a trip that was London - Las Vegas - San Francisco - London. I used it on the plane for both of the trans-Atlantic flights.

My iMac G5 is second-hand; it was water-damaged by the previous owners. It works fine having been refurbished by the lovely guy I used to work for, but the fan rattles a little bit on occasion.

My Dell XPS laptop has had hot chocolate spilled on it... It certainly didn't like that, it died for 20 minutes and then suddenly came back to life. Which made me feel very lucky, I thought it was stone dead. Probably just wouldn't turn on to prevent damage, which is sensible enough. Not sure how it senses moisture though, maybe by the shorting it causes.

My Dell Inspiron 1525 was hit with a nine iron after I dropped it D:

The front was cracked a little, it was so thin though that you could run your finger over it and not even feel it.

My computed died more times than all the total deaths in Dragon Ball Z.

Crappy analogy, but that does say something, doesn't it? And here it is, still alive. :[

Also shows how much it can stand up to.

That's a very good analogy because in Dragon Ball Z, the characters keep dying and coming back to life (in undead? form). Maybe your computer's undead.

Anyway, I have a Toshiba Satellite and the other day I tripped on the power cord. Somehow that made my laptop fly up, do several flips, and land on the ground. I'm not kidding. I was scared to death, and then I turned it on and realized it was fine. I'm more careful with the power cord now.

I tend to take pretty good care of my computers at least when it comes to physical stuff. My old HP laptop has stood up to so many XP reinstalls that I'm surprised it still has the full HDD capacity left. It was the demo computer at the store, has survived Vista beta installs, windows 7 beta installs, many Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Ubuntu Studio linux installs and it's still standing up reletively well to my little brother. I also put my dad's Acer laptop under my tests during a screen replacement on my old HP Laptop by doing many installs, and upgrading/downgrading of RAM.

My Macbook Pro has only ever had to deal with a few Boot Camp partition set ups and reverts, using multiple OSs and CPU intensive programs at the same time.

    Well, on the whole I take great care of my computers. The only problems I've ever had that were caused by me were just keyboard issues and each time it was from spilling Coke on it. XD;

My old laptop got a spill and now the entire top-right side of the keyboard is sticky and hard to press. Especially now that it only gets used... maybe once a year if we need an extra computer for some weird reason? :|

As for my main laptop... um. The left arrow key is breaking off, it's a little sticky and noisy on the right-hand side. I seem to only spill Coke on that side of my computers. :B But yeah, it was actually working fine despite that--I broke the arrow key myself when I pulled off a few of the keys to clean underneath them. I guess I'd cleaned that one too many times and now part of it doesn't snap back on so I just have to be careful when typing.

Though I suppose it's also survived being "repaired". I sent it in for servicing last year and it came back with a broken fan. It hasn't bricked yet so I'm rather impressed. (Why, no, I don't have much faith in HP products... can you tell?)

    No problems with my netbook yet but I've had it... what... all of three days? I'd better not have to rate it on toughness yet. XD;

Whoo! You sent your Satellite into orbit! OMG SCARRRRY!!!! DDDDD8

But yeah, Mine has taken it's share of beatings. I'm extra careful not to damage the screen, but the keyboard on this thing has taken a fairly heavy beating, it's missing the '4', 'i', 'l' and the left arrow key. Even worse, the 'f' key keeps trying to fall off, I just snap it back into place and keep on trucking. It looks like crap with all the childish stickers I put on it but that's actually what I want. (No one wants to steal a ______ looking laptop that looks like it belongs to a 8 year old :3)

My computer has stood up to baseball impacts, coffee spills, and too much ageing. :o

For some reason, it is still alive. I think you could nearly call my computer a zombie at this point. It is STILL running with Windows 7 and a lot of games. It's probably because it has 2GB of RAM, but I still think that thing is freaky or zombified or something! @~@

My first laptop stood up to a good bit before I eventually fell on it XD; It fell off the side of my bed multiple times, parents dropped it when moving it off the couch or something, things like that. And then one day I had it open on my bed, and I was standing doing something else (idk what), and for some reason I tripped over something on the floor and plowed right into the screen XD It was ruined after that.

My current laptop hasn't really been through too much. I've accidentally spilled a drink on there before, and... yeah it still works decently I guess XD I hardly ever use it now, with my new desktop and all :B

My old Compaq Armada 1750 survived being dropped down the stairs. I have no idea how, though. My Dell L400, on the other hand, breaks if you look at it the wrong way (I have had to replace the screen twice, the RAM once, and the hard drive twice). What was even worse, though, is the roughest thing I did to it was toss it onto my bed. I really don't know what to say with my Toshiba L355D-S7825, though, since it hasn't taken any abuse what-so-ever.

For my desktops, I had an old Ultra Celeron 500MHz tower that survived a couple of kicks, as well as a drop from the car onto a gravel driveway, but the USB and PS/2 ports shorted out when I lent it to my parents (they smoke, though). My Gateway 400C has survived a basment flood (it was still on inside the water, and nothing happened), and my other Gateway has survived a couple of kicks (not from me, though).

I have had other computers, but these ones have taken the most abuse. I also try to be careful with my stuff, though the Ultra computer was given to me by a friend (and it came with Me on it) and the Armada fell when my brother attempted to push me down the stairs (he is evil).

my laptop has feel 5 feet to hit a hard ground and the screen parts side and it survived
    I WILL SURVIVE~
