6th Gen Confirmed Information Discussion

The characters are 10 so them looking 9 isn't that big of a deal...

Btw Whitney's whole team was nerfed one level compared to her GSC team. While Bugsy's whole team was stronger by one level compared to his GSC team. So it's possible that some Hoenn gym leaders could see their teams go down 1-2 levels while others see their teams go up a level or 2.
Perhaps Roxanne's team will be 15 and 16 respectably (assuming she keeps her two mons from RS instead of having three like in Emerald).

Also keep in mind it could just be beta, and that they'll get their RS or Emerald levels.

See, he's right. In HG/SS they altered some Gym Leaders and other important trainers' levels, such as the cases with Bugsy and Whitney that he mentioned. However, regarding that speculation that Brawly's Makuhita was nerfed level-wise, it seems to be false because I looked up Bulbapedia and in the R/S his Makuhita was still Lv.18.

It's pretty much a given they'll be going with the same teams they had in R/S as opposed to Emerald.

That was relative to their original designs. Take Brendan for example,

I don't think Brendan and May look younger. They are still 10 years old, but I think what made you think that is because the eye design of player characters changed in 6th Gen (although Nate and Rosa had pretty "cute" eyes that looked different from the usual design) and the new eye designs look "cuter" which explains it.

Character designs change, just like how artwork does in general. We all pretty much remember how drastic Ken Sugimori's art style changed in 3rd Gen. Now it's only gotten even more detailed, with some human character art also drawn by Yusuke Ohmura.

So you're basically saying they do look younger, or?

I know they're 10 years old, but personally I find them to look much younger than their original designs. I also know that art styles change over time and who's involved in drawing them. That doesn't mean I'm going to like them anymore than I do now...which is negligible.

Where does it say they are 10? I thought that was the anime only. (Note I'm actually curious to know if them being 10 was confirmed by someone (Nintendo) or people using anime logic for the games) I always viewed them to be 13/14 with Gen 5 onwards being 16 onwards

Am I the only one who thinks that the new Brendan/May look slightly older than their RS/E artworks?
No, not at all. I personally liked em from the beginning, and I've fallen in love with the look since then. I am so glad that they didn't pull a Lyra on May, or that Brendan doesn't have some weird design choices when it comes to his iconic clothing(those pants, and the collar on gold are horrendous), and that both are in the general realm of believability that if RSE came out today, these would be the first designs we would see, and also love. Its just the nostalgia I think when it comes to the negativity to the designs, which I never let myself get blinded by.

Regarding the levels, even though Brawly has been nerfed by two levels, for all we know Wattson could retain his Level 24 Magneton. Given that there are plenty of trainers and areas to explore between the second and third gym, they may have decreased a couple of levels to prevent overlevelling. I really couldn't see them making the game easier for the sake of younger players (who probably haven't played the originals), these are remakes which should mimic pretty much everything that was in the original games, that includes the difficulty level.

The Elite Four seems to have retained the ladder system as we've seen in previous screenshots, this obviously indicates that they haven't gone down the easier route of allowing us to choose what order we fight them in.

Also Brawly is right after Roxanne, with very little travel involving battles involved, so his Pokemon being close to hers in terms of level isn't that big of a deal. I can't recall if we are made to give the letter to Steven before we can enter the gym, or if we get to pick, or if we need the badge. But if they are going to nerf Brawly I hope it'll be before we meet Steven.

@ Marino Interestingly his Pokemon got a one level boost in Emerald as well as having another member.
I do feel the game is going to be somewhat easy, as they didn't take the Emerald team route (as far as we know).

I surely remember how hard Brawly was in the original games because it was not huge of a gap between his Gym and Roxanne's, but thankfully the area around Dewford Town had good spots to train. As for Steven, I think it can be either before or after but it's been years since I last played a Hoenn game so I'm not really sure.

In the original games, you didn't have to battle Brawly if you found your way through Granite Cave without flash. In fact, it was possible to battle him last before facing Norman.

Interesting to see what leaks from this months CoroCoro issue which should leak any day (or hour) now! There seems to be a lot of focus around Mega Evoltions obviously, particularly Sharpedo, Camerupt, Flygon and Milotic which all seem pretty plausible. I'd like to see the remaining Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, it's kinda odd why they haven't been revealed yet, but I guess that could be this month! Shame I can't access internet properly until Saturday to see it all in full. ;;

I have a feeling Sharpedo and Camerupt Megas will be saved until the release like how the Kalos starter's final evolutions were. Those two Megas are as highly anticipated as the final evolutions were...

I expect us to get leaks tonight (as you said any hour xD) or tomorrow night.
Originally I didn't expect anything until Get Tv mentioned they'll have news this week, which will likely be what Corocoro covers.

What we've seen (and heard) from the opening of the games looks awesome. Now I hope they keep the rest of the opening like the originals, or adapt Emerald's opening. Actually if Rayquaza appears in the opening then it'll virtually confirm that the games will include Emerald elements like how HgSs included Suicune in the intro (and the Japanese versions of FrLg had tributes for all four original mascots in the ending).

This has probably been posted in the recent posts.
I saw a video confirmed with -
Mega Salamence
Mega Metagross
Mega Altaria
Mega Lopunny???

GameFreak..... WHERES FLYGON. :(

Seems there is going to be a special trial version of the game given out by serial code where one gets their pick of a mid evolution starter holding their Mega stone. However, it'll likely be Japan only.

Just read it on serebii. That's one spoilery thingy I don't want to have/play/see, so I could totally enjoy this remake. :3

how long's it usually between leaks?
i've been holding out for the leaks for a few days now and im just waiting for the next load to come but it doesnt look like they're coming.
from past leaks they usually come like a day after the first leaks yea? i can not wait that long rip me 1995-2014

First CoroCoro info:

The first images for this month have started to appear. In this image, from the magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday, it confirms that, in next month's issue of CoroCoro, due out on October 15th, a special serial code will be given. This Serial Code offers you a trial version of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire which appears to have you pick between Grovyle, Combusken & Marshtomp and ends with the obtaining of a Mega Evolution. We'll bring more on this as it comes

Well last time there was a one day difference between the leaks of the Primals appearing in the next movie and the Mega scoop, cosplay Pikachu, and contest stuff. So we should expect it tomorrow night (the night of the 10-11th), well for those of us in NA and SA at least. For some reason they tend to leak when it's 11 pm pst where I live. So maybe another 22 1/4 hours...
