6th Gen Contests Return!

I really dislike how they make special things only for certain Pokemon ;; I think it should be all or none, especially with something silly like dress up.

What kind of contests would you prefer to appear? Classic RSE ones, or 3-stage DPPt ones? For the Appeals stage in either version, would you like multiple judges or just one?
I agree that it would be nice if they did these things for all Pokemon, and not just a certain few, but its not really feasible to do so. We have 721 Pokemon now; programming these things for each and every one of those would drive the programmers and artists/animators insane.

As for the type of contests, I'd rather that they do something new. I never could get that into the original R/S/E contests or the DPPt ones. I want them to put in PokeStar Studios to do something else so that maybe I'll be interested this time.

They don't have to be elaborate things, although I guess it's pretty complicated now that the Pokemon are 3D models instead of sprites. I thought the DPPt dressup was pretty fun ;;

Well, I hope the original R/S/E contest return. Because I liked the style of that more, but I wouldn't mind if they added the dance competition to add some extra points.

Contests are basically confirmed because of the Pikachu Costumes released in July's CoroCoro. It's unknown what they're going to be like in the new games though, and it may have something to do with these new outfits Pikachu is sporting. Nothing about the costumes have been confirmed, but there are some subtle hints at their significance on the official ORAS page.

I'm hoping there will be only three stages to contests like the Sinnoh contests if the dances are being added, of course they may be a sign that Sinnoh Super contests could be in these games in addition to Hoenn style contests, it'll be the best of both worlds by having both :3

I expected this, seeing as contests did appear in R/S/E. I never used the contests much in R/S/E, but now that it looks like you'll be able to dress them up like in D/P/PT, this could be a great improvement. Now just waiting for the Battle Frontier, then I'd be pretty darn happy with this remake.

I really liked the contests from R/D/E so I do hope they come back. It was one of most fun parts of the games.

I'm not sure why people needed a confirmation for such a major feature from R/S/E.
Game Corner I could understand, since they've changed that to a Picross/Minesweeper combo in the non-JP releases of HG/SS, then completely removed it in all of their games since then.
But Contests? What reason would there be not to include them?

They were fun, certainly. I wonder how these costumes introduced will affect the contests in ORAS, though.

Yeah, I guess the costumes are just an added detail/aspect of the contests. Like some costumes are worth more points depending on the pokemon.

Does this mean the return of Pokeblocks too?? What about Contest Stats??
What about Feebas' evolution o_o

Someone suggested that perhaps they'll work like the contest scarfs, meaning they could boost their contest stats.

I wonder if contest stats from back in Gen IV will still be reflected as it's been awhile. Perhaps the transfer to V and then VI might've wiped the contest stats out of our old contest mons :(

iirc a Feebas with perfect beauty in gen 3 will still evolve if transferred to gen 6, so they probably haven't.
But on that note, its interesting that we finally get a remake of a game from which Pokemon are transferable. What about, say, a Pokemon which has already won a contest and gotten a ribbon. What happens if you transfer that over? Can you still use it in the master rank if its already won the master rank in rse?

That part about Feebas is interesting. I thought Contest stats had been removed when I saw they merged their Ribbons. If those remain, maybe the individual Contest Ribbons are still there also, and if they're there, they should allow us to go into the higher ranks if the same contests return.

I'd like the ribbon system to remain as it was in the originals, it functioned fine and the end result was something to look forward to. Maybe you can pin the ribbon on to your Pokemon's costume!

Maybe after winning? We could even get a picture with our winning Pokemon. Speaking of which I sure hope that the painter from RSE returns. I got a drawing for each category (most of them being of my Prize winning Latias...)
