I'm more of an arts n' crafts -- hands on art kinda guy. :3

Like I remember we had to make keychains out of Wires and Wallets out of duct tape~
I named my wallet Duck. <3 Cause duct tape always reminds me of ducks for some reason. ;-;

I like to anime draw too~ I just can never draw the anime eyes right. D=

That sucks ;__;

I'm in College for at now, though (Degree program) so.. basically all I do is art @_@ As fun as it is, it's also insanely draining because of the crazy deadlines they give us.

Though.. this last year I do have SciFi and Psychology electives.. :3

@_@ I think my favourite class will always be lifedrawing.. (you know.. hey there's a naked person posing, draw them in 30 seconds) but this year we have costumed life-drawing.. which is super fun because we get to make little storytelling sketches and focus on acting with characters in our art instead of just anatomy :3

Ooh, Science Fiction. Don't forget to mention L. Ron Hubbard and the Great Space Emperor Xenu every time you can.

A lot of people tend to draw really flat-looking anime @_@ It's because it's so formulaic that you can just say "Oh that's a nose, let me just draw a triangle" instead of actually looking at that triangle as a simplification for a nose and thinking of it structurally and accordingly..

So it kinda peeves me when people just tend to draw anime that has obvious flaws in it @_@ And when you point it out in a constructive way, they rebuttle with "It's MY STYLE"
.. >_> Okay, I guess it's your style to have broken arms in your drawings?
I'm far from perfect, and I know it always hurts a little to get critiques @_@ But at the same time you need to realize it and learn from it.. Even people who aren't artists can have an artistic eye and you should show them your stuff and ask them what they think of it :33

@_@ Also, I'm also quite crafty, too. I've sewn tons of stuff.. and I love fashion. I also like making things out of clay.. The one thing I'm horrible at is graphics, though @_@ I can't do graphic arts at all..

Luck: We just finished up an H.G. Wells thing right now @_@ Our teacher loves his books.. haha..

Yeah, your best bet would be to try some illustration stuff, then. I got into animation because I loved cartoons (including anime) and I still draw anime all the time. But I also draw in a larger, more wide variety of styles because I feel like it develops all aspects of my personal art.

:C In animation, though.. it's not easy getting a job just purely being able to draw anime (unless you move to Japan) but the pay is horrible for animation there. I know someone who graduated and got a good gig there doing work and she's super happy.. but it's a rarity to do that.

Illustration stuff is probably easier to hone your own personal style (even if it reflects that of an anime style) but most illustration schools don't really give you good direction, just more opportunities to draw. You gotta find the good ones.. and the ones that don't always tell you to do abstract stuff.. >_> But ones that also like to see direction from the student and run with it.

I was thinking about looking into animation. Doing animation is pretty hard to do I have to admit after drawing on Photoshop and then putting it onto Animation shop 3 since I fail with Flash, it's a defiantly a lot of work. I just figured out how to do animation not to long ago. I think I'm going into Graphic design and Digital Media/filming.

It took me a while to get use to the anime eyes. I decided to use my own style a bit. Drawing the legs is annoying as heck though and so is the feet.

@_@ Yeah.. Flash is actually an easy cheap way to do animation.. since it has all those horrible tweening tools.. and you can easily erase and play back stuff you do..

I do my animation on good old pencil and paper ._. I have the group film we did up on my blog here on PC if you're interested in seeing it. Haha..
Though our program also does a little 3D animation stuff, too.

Graphic design and Media design are great to get into, too! If you love drawing traditionally though, you should try doing some liveaction storyboards for these mediums, too. It's a pretty good job.

Feet are some of the hardest things to draw because without feet, your characters just look like they're floating in space. ._. A lot of amateur anime artists tend to avoid drawing feet and hands because it's not as formulaic as the rest of the body.. and there's stuff you have to deal with like foreshortening and stuff @_@ But some of the super dynamic poses can be difficult for even a pro, because they have to be able to simplify the form in a pleasing way.

That being said.. once you can nail hands and feet, other stuff is just so much easier and more appealing in your drawings.
Practice practice practice!

Well yeah; that's another thing: criticism is pretty overlooked. ;-; (well people I knew doesn't like the criticism they anyway~)

I guess one can never find anything new if they aren't afraid of making mistakes, or of failing; I guess its all part of steps of success; and its just one step at a time. :3

Here's some anime with structure right there @_@.. Haha.. I happen to love this picture, actually..

But yeah.. I think everyones a bit afraid of making mistakes, even me. But I push through and do it because I enjoy it :33

L M A O at your avatar and siggy. Best theme on PC fer shurr <3

And aaaaaaaas for the actual topic at hand; i'm not crafty or particularly artistic, I just do what I can with my (limited) knowledge and resources ^^

What other types of knowledge and "resources" are you interested in?

Toughie.

You know the phrase "Jack of all trades, master of none"? That's me, right there. I dabble in a few things but i'm not particularly good at any of them.

Unless that's not what you're asking and i've totally missed the point. Again.

The only art I can do is graphic art, and even then I suck at it.

I think I'll stick to video gaming, to be honest ^^; It is one of my secondary interests as to what I wanna major in.

I can draw very good if I must say so myself, sadly I do not have a scanner though.

I am probably getting into college on a sports scholarship, but I still want to major in some sort of engineering...

Honestly I just scribble junk, and it takes shape, unless I am really bored and want to draw another one of my imagination anime characters...teh I actually use my skills.

The more you do it the better you get ._. It's like any craft. Sure it comes easier to some people than others (that's what talent is) but a lot of the best people out there are the best because of all the hard work they put into honing their craft ._.

Eh, I don't really draw much. I mean, it's a nice thing, but I don't really have the ability, or patience to reach an ability, to draw, haha.

I rarely draw because I'm not good at it, though I do end up ~sort of~ drawing random things with my pencil at uni because I have nothing better to do. :(
