If I got banned from PC, I'd just laugh for the record.

Kura do you have a slow computer?

Nope @_@ It's like 4 years old but still decently fast <333 it only slows down a bit when I skype, photoshop, have music, and MSN/ post at the same time .___. lol..

That makes me think that serious multitasking makes your computer lag. Man, having Minecraft open alone makes mine lag horribly. ._. But FL Studio doesn't affect it at all.
Haha.. yeah but it's never all that bad.. ._. I am skyping, msning, and browsing at the same time right now and it's all good :33

My laptop's about 2 years old now. My desktop is 5 years old and it works great... just that it can't handle Windows 7 or other awesome programs sadly.

So, what's on people's wishlists this year?

As a combined birthday/Christmas present from my parents I'm going skydiving. Ohmygod. I'm ... excreting bricks.

That's a bummer ._. I'm on a mac but I like Tiger so much that I never updated to Leopard or Snow Leopard.. but it works great so I have no qualms at all!

I've wanted a Mac, but they're so dang expensive.
Macs are actually really good if you use them correctly.

If you're a gamer, then you should probably stick to Windows. DirectX is a Windows exclusive; games do run on OS X, but there's more on Windows, and they will probably run smoother if I'm not mistaken. OS X is great for production.

My desktop will be a year old next month. It's fantastic, but onboard video can only get you so far. It runs 7 fine, but not as smooth as I'd like.

Mac is serious bussiness. If I was aiming for games, I'd just go for Win and Alienware's 'do it yourself' theme. But Mac, is, well, serious bussiness.

Yeah they are @_@ But I feel like they're worth it.. I hate crummy customer service and I just like the peace of mind that Mac repairs their stuff with no hassles or no problems. The price for that is worth it IMO because I stress out badly when there are tech problems @___@

I don't EVER pc-game.. so.. I'm good with my mac <3

If you're going for a gaming PC, I'd stay away from Alienware.

You can decide your own parts and probably get them for a lot cheaper. Alienware does have some cool cases though.

As for my computer, I love gaming and the UI of Windows. I wouldn't mind having a Macbook though. In fact, if I ever came across a spare laptop, I'd try and get OS X on it. If not that, then Maybe Debain. It's good to be fluent in more than one operating system. ^^

Why stay away from Alienware? I thought that it was a great solution for gaming purposes...

Apart from that, does any of you guys have Win 7 and hate the incorporated Paint program, like I do? D;

Oh hai!

I haven't been here before, so I might hang here for a bit :)

I have a Mac, when the government gave the laptops to all high school kids, my school voted for a Mac OSX, so I got one :) I prefer PC as I like to play games though. But the Macs are way better for work and pixels stuff, so I want to get Photoshop for my Mac (there are no paint programs for my Mac D: ). I still love my Mac because it was just handed to me for free ^.^

@Poster I've never been too fond of Dell's customer service. You could also probably get better parts for cheaper, and the rigs come pre-installed with whatever version of Windows, and knowing Dell, they probably load a lot of unnecessary stuff on it, which eat resources, defeating the purpose of a gaming computer. I'm not saying you should absolutely hate Alienware/Dell, but I'm just saying, if you want to maximize power per dollar, building it yourself is the best way to go. It's not extremely hard, either. If you're worried about ruining it, then take it in to a computer store. They'll probably build it for you, and it'll probably end up being cheaper than buying a computer from Alienware.

Then again, I prefer having total control of my system.

True.. but if you're like someone like me.. I'm more interested in what the computer does for me rather than the actual computer ._. I guess it's kinda like getting a luxury car. You could soup up a moderately priced car and get the same results or better results than a sports car.. but some people just like to go for that lamborghini, you know? lol

Oh, I don't game like that much. And customer service? I've had my fair share of bad encounters.

Spoiler:

Wow that is so bull..
@_@ That's exactly why I like mac, though. I can't handle stuff like that.. it just makes my blood boil. Heck I had an issue with the Xbox live and it took 3 freaking hours. I like to be able to go to a store in-person or be able to call and have people handle my problem professionally ://
The pricey-ness of a mac is worth it when it comes to that :/

I've had that happen to my uncle. All he wanted was to get a new cellphone charger. He played phone tag, and got his charger.

After 5 months, in which he threw it away. Bullcrap.

Yeah, microsoft is horrible with that. I tried to cancel my subscription to xbox live, and after finding that there was no way to cancel it on the actual xbox (and as I recall, it does have an option to cancel, and then just doesn't let you, or something along those lines) I went onto their website, and it took easily more than an hour to figure out how. It was like a freaking maze on their website, with tons of secret passages you had to find, before they let you cancel it.

Still, anything to avoid talking to them on the phone. That would've taken twice as long.

The same thing happened to me back when we got our new wireless router, and it needed setting up. @__@ I'm bad with computers as is. That was a nightmare.

I know. We paid for live for a year but for some reason it wouldn't let us download M-rated games.. it wouldn't let us change the birthdate of the account (my brother was 17 and you had to be 18 to download it) and they wont let you switch the live membership to a different account. After 3 hours we had to basically buy another live membership for a new account and have them refund the money. >_> It was like "Do I really trust them to do this and refund my $60.." seriously it felt like a gamble. Thankfully they did it.

I just think it's so dumb that they can't even do that >___> like allowing bypassing "parental controls" for live accounts. I mean.. who the heck pays almost 100 bucks just to not have all the features that they basically are entitled to.

But get this.. the second lady I got was so dumb she basically asked "What's live?" and I'm like "What are you serious?" And I asked her to transfer me to someone different for like 20 minutes. I told her either I can hang up and go through the whole menu system again to get to a representative, or she could just transfer me. Guess what she did? Instead of transferring me she basically hung up on her end. What a female dog. I don't know how some people get their jobs..

Ugh. I hate it when I get an absolute idiot on the other end of the line. >_>

I've dealt with that recently, with HP. They're giving us the run around on a laptop battery which has gone completely bad only 3 months after buying it!
