I can't stand to watch Astro Boy...sure it's Japanese but that doesn't make it anime really...it deviates too much from regular anime style for me to like it...you know, those bulbous cysts that are supposed to be the people's noses and the features that are far too exaggerated and all that...otherwise it's quite pretty, but it's not for me *shrugs*
How is it not anime style? Astro boy was one of the first anime's EVER made. Of course the art will be diffrent it was made back in 1952 way before anyone here was alive. I like a lot allmost as good as cyborg009

The show was made in 1952, or was that just a manga or something? o_O I don't know...I suppose it'd be ok if it was a pioneer in anime, but the good-looking anime that's on now has spoiled me...I thought Astro Boy was from the time of Speed Racer (which was pretty well refined...no freaky looking people or anything...)

the manga came out in the 40's the anme came out in the 50's i think the manga ran for allmost 30 years straight before the creator of it died in...87 i think.

*wish that he can say the same thing as he failed that chinese test so bad that he got to take a retake at the test o.o;*

._.;;

Aww, my teacher lets people who failed re-take the chinese test.
And me...I got a 60 in one part where you have memorize a whole chapter and write it down word by word and a 70 in the rest. So overall I have a 65...just passed.
I wish I had atleast a point less so I can fail and re-take it....to bad.
Ahh well, you made me feel better knowing I have a higher score than you. XD
Thanks. :P

Astro boy has weird art all the charecters have curved bodys and big noses. Now my favorite anime is gundam which has alot of action they have some great detail and no curved peole or big noses.

Well, if you guys are talking Anime, really, every show's anime, in my opinion, except the main type of anime we tlak about is Japanese Anime. But there's American Anime, etc. I don't watch much Anime in general, I'd rather watch ESPN anyday lol. I guess it's because I love sports so much. I feel so different than all of ya'll, I hardly know the first thing about anime :confused:

Yea, I'm serious, I am not into anime, at all. I don't even watch the pokemon anime so much anymore, except when I wake up early enough. Yes, the style of art is simply amazing, I just don't really find it so appealing to me. I hardly have any time in my hands, what with sports, homeworks, school stuff, friends, and just life altogether.

Trust me, I wouldn't even have the patience to do that, I just have too much going on in my life. My friend's not grounded anymore, and he's like my best friend, so I'm going to be at his house a lot now. And what with summer coming and everything, I'm doing really intense sports camps that will just wipe me out, I will be very tired. I just, I don't have the time for it anymore. I hardly have time for PC anymore, but I try my hardest to be on here whenever I have the chance

I'm asleep by the time InuYasha comes on, lol. I only watched three Anime shows; Pokemon, Tokyo Mew Mew, and InuYasha. ^_^; I guess because I like the characters, and the art. Since I love to draw, practicing the Anime style is nice for a change. A lot of the cartoons in America don't really have... as nice of artwork, compared to Japan. (That's my opinion.) Most of the ones here look as if they were drawn by ten year olds. o_o; Though, Disney has some nice styles. I love their characters! And not all shows here are like that, just some.

Sparks: I thought Astro Boy was supposed to be the first of all animes, and it inspired animes after it.

I agree. I'm not into watching Anime nowadays, like DT, but American styles of cartoon drawing doesn't seem to appeal to me the way Japanese ones does. (There are some exceptions like what you said [Disney])
The craze here now is Fruits Basket, is this an old or new thing to anyone else?

Oh, that?s another thing I like about my subs. No commercials and I can watch them as much as I want when I want! =D I?ve been trying to watch two episodes of Inuyasha a day, so I can get caught up on the story. I stopped somewhere around episode 70 quite some time ago. ^_^
I believe the Fruits Basket manga is taking off here, maybe? o_o

Anime is my favorite art form ^_^;;

I watch whatever anime I can...basically Pokemon, Yugioh, and Ultimate Muscle sometimes...I don't get Cartoon Network with my crappy cable system so I can't watch all the awesome quality stuff like Trigun and Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop and all that ._.

I?m pretty interested in Trigun, I don?t see it too often, but it seems pretty good to me! Even the dub seems well done, which is rare for translating into such an inferior language as English. o.x;

From what I heard from my friends, Fruits Baskets is about 13 members of a family who got cursed by Zodiac spirits. They can transform to the creature they represent when they get sick, get too angry etc. I just heard this from my friends, and I'm interested, so I'm going to borrow the Manga books from them (I missed a lot of episodes of the Anime --;; )
I usually read Manga as a substitute for Anime, since I always miss some TV episodes (blame it on a lot of factors). Inuyasha's not shown here since it is inappropriate for younger audiences, so I read the Manga, and now I'm up to 32.
I'm still waiting for that Manga rental store to import 33 onwards. I saw Volumes 33 and 34 at another bookstore recently but I don't want to buy them. My mum will kill me if I keep those books at home --;;
