it could be your memory...when I have little memory, MSN dies on me.

Yeah it is my memory. @_@;;

I need more.

Mine actaully needs more too. I use up alot with stories and everything and also music as well.

I have a gig of RAM in this here notebook.

Also have a 500gig external harddrive for all my other crap :]

160 GB hard drive with approximately 90 GB of free space left and just under 512 MB of memory. However, the graphics card on my current machine is a piece of crap, and I don't have the time or the inclination to invest further in this sinking ship. However, I don't plan on obtaining a new rig for at least another year or two.

I have a simple Radeon Xpress 200m in this. It's pretty crap, but it runs Oblivion/Sims 2, so overall I don't complain.

And the laptop only has 80gigs of built in space, so not that great.

Wow.. my specs are so awesome compared to yours.. 2gigs of memory. 120 gigs of space on here~ <3 And my internet is sooo fast <333 I love it~
Kura! My darling, my love!

I hardly ever see you on PC <33 I just came back because of this amazing Cherimu theme :]

o_o I'm always here! I try to catch you but you always end up having left 10 minutes before I come on.

:3 I miss you so much, honey

Judging from those specifications, it can be a decent enough gaming rig, depending on whether it's running Vista or XP.

I can put both on here if I wanted~
:3 One on bootcamp, the other on parallels. And I could have both running at the same time.
Horrah, PC gaming!

But this computer is NOTHING compared to the ones we have at school that handle Maya. The boys put Counterstrike and Team Fortress2 on there. And I think a few other games.
Maann.. it's so sweet.
Maya is a such a powerful program. More than half the new PCs just being manufactured out there can't handle it.

Just Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2? Call me when they've got Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes, The Witcher, Halo 2, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. running on those machines.

They probably do. Those damn 4th years are such addicted gamers. I come in there sometimes, but recently they've been obsessed with TF2~ I think they were playing CoD4 before, but I'm not sure.

Team battling FTW~

I dont know half of my computer stats. D: I hate this computer so much its not funny. >_<

My throat hurts. >_>

I cant play much games on mine because my computer lags so much.

My computer is built from the ground up for gaming by me, no less so it works well that way. I'm using it a lot more for art and such now, so it's nice that it's powerful enough to handle stuff like that.

I know nothing about my computer stats...
But I also don't know about my laptop too.....

I plan to get a new laptop sometime early next year, but haven't decided on any specs for it. But for a price range of NZD$1000-$1500 I can't really expect too much, can I?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a laptop brand fit for student purposes?

I think DELL is pretty enough for students.
Lenovo Anyone heard of it? is also a nice cheap try~

Dell's a common brand here for a lot of people, but their laptops can be unreliable from what I've heard.
And Lenovo's kinda cheap. xD

I was planning on getting one of the older Toshiba versions or the Sony Vaio so that it'd also last me a few years.

But the British Council gave students Dell and it's fine Not including the speedxD
But that's fast.

Toshiba is a winner but I got Sony Vaio with Home Vista and my wallpapers.... D:
