Biochemistry, yuck. I guess it's your turn to say it's not that bad.

Political science seems a bit interesting, though isn't double majoring a bit too hard on you?

Majoring in Biology and right now Genetics is killing me. I totally bombed that exam recently.
A few people actually came out of it crying.

ZOMG an engineer. If you have a social life, that makes you rarer than a unicorn.

@Seattle: It's not that bad ^^ Biochemistry can be yuck if it's not taught properly ie. when they delve into the mechanisms without explaining a larger context - but I suppose that's the point of biochemistry in the first place, so it's good to have a healthy understanding of biology at a physiological or a cell level just so you're not just bombarded with pieces of disembodied ****.

Double majoring is a bit hard in that I need to develop two learning styles as they're very different disciplines. But it's good for the brain. Polisci is very interesting. I'm doing this 4th year seminar that may involve a publication but I have to work towards an A+ and now I'm at an B+/A- and there's 120+ pages of reading every week to get a weekly assignment done on Friday. But other than that it's good.

Does this site count as a social life? XD

Yeah, I just started this year and since my counselor absolutely refused to sign me up for a math class, I'm just getting some of my prerequisites out of the way and working towards that minor at the same time. No insanely hard math problems, yet. Just six hour reading assignments and 100+ pages of reading a night. Kill me now...

I intended on double majoring in both IT and English, but I felt it was just too much of a hassle. I love English too much to leave it altogether, so I'm minoring it. :3

But then I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TECHNOLOGY TOO SO I JUST CANNOT LEAVE IT LIKE THAT. ;; *hugs computer parts*

I would want to major in either IT or computer science for a career, and minor in something, but I'm not sure.. :s

Deciding a major is one of the hardest things to do..at least for me. I have recently decided to change mine because I lost interest in what I was previously going for, but now I am having a hard time deciding on a new one.

Is it all that difficult to change a major midway through college schooling though or not? My main worry with the possibility of changing a major is having to take new prerequisite classes (like a new math class or a new English class for example) after taking math and English classes already and having to drop classes of your old major and add new classes for your newly-chosen major.

It depends on what major you're changing to... If you're going from Math to... Anthropology for example, it'll be difficult. If' it's something like Science to Mathematics, it'll be a bit easier.

If you're in your first year and only taking general education classes it's not that hard to switch majors as long as the major you're switching to isn't impacted (meaning limited space in the department) and doesn't require you to start taking major-specific classes right away.

Like, if you've been at school a year and you're thinking you want to do psych but then decide to do computer science you might have an uphill battle to catch up because of the foundational classes that major might want you to do.

Even if you don't like your major in particular, if you like the field in general or if there's a lot of freedom in your requirements, you can keep the major and just take the courses you're more interested in. I'm sticking to my biochem major cuz I'm in my 3rd year and really don't feel like changing it even though I don't plan to do lab work. It actually looks more like a physiology major than a biochem major. The only real cost is that I have to take a lab course half-credit - I still get to learn what I want and I don't have to take a fifth year because of prereqs.

Speaking of school in particular, I gotta get ready for College Algebra in a bit. Yawn.

Hope everyone is doing okay this evening. :)

I'm fumbling on one last physics problem I have to do for a homework due midnight today... Other than that I have to finish up my discrete math homework due tomorrow.

Edit: Urgh... positive and negative signs... I guarantee that'll come back to haunt me on the exam on Friday.

Yes, they're a nuisance. In physics it's annoying for different reason, which is even with formulas and constants, you have to know when to use a negative sign depending on different situations.
