Omfg, unplugging the router was something my father did in my old apartment, and I hated it when he did that sooooo much.

Back before my household had Verizon FiOS, the modem and router always got turned off when it was my parents' bedtime and nothing more. The summer before though they began to leave them turned on because they discovered I was staying up later than them and since we've had FiOS installed there's pretty much always been internet connectivity 24/7 in our house.

Speaking of modems, usually I'm the one who turn it on and off, but sometimes my parents would ask me to stop the internet connection, and usually it's when the weather is thundery.

Same with me, however, I use my phone to access PC in case of emergency or when I feel like it. And usually I rely on my laptop's internet connection to browse in here.

What kind of emergency would there have to be for you to use your phone to get on PC?

Like on the situation when I was unable to get my main internet access on my laptop on when the provider's signal is no good, or when I was away from my laptop due to being sent to repair.

I'd imagine how hard I'd be able to stand not getting on here a lot because of my computer being in repairs, but hey it's happened before so I'm sure I can survive this.

I hate using laptops, because they have inferior CD drives that easily burn out (like my Toshiba Satellite CD drive did), and because they have overall less processing speed. You can't really have dual-core laptops with more than two or three USB ports unless you have a really hi-tech battery and charger.

With Desktops, only the latest technology is your limit. And they have the keypad for inserting special characters, which I do all too often for a laptop.

As far as internet goes, always custom-configure your modem. The cable companies set limits in the firmware to make money. And always get a nice router, too. :D

Well, probably not. My dad got them from Wal-Mart with a free 12-month warranty. I'm sure the eyeglass lady there can fix it easy. :)
