"Mr. Ceptio... you are called to the court room today... are you... I mean..."
I can't go there now.
"But... sir... what about Kira?"
Don't call me sir anymore... I'm not your boss. I quit. I failed an innocent client and now? They're a sitting duck for Kira whenever he feels the need to remove them... if he EVER feels the need to remove them. This is my fault... I should have defended her... I should have saved her.
I'm done with the attorney life. I'm finished.
"So you'll just let them die then?"
What else can I do? I see now that I'm not good enough to save them. I read through the evidence, Kira probably has my information now. It's only a matter of time - OW! What-what was that for?!
"You'll throw your life away and let your clients down because of ONE mistake?! Is life really so meaningless to you?! Are you that selfish that you'll let your client down and do NOTHING to make up for that?!"
I-I... you're right.
Even if it kills me anyway. I've got to defend my clients.
It's my duty... as an attorney.

*The doors to the courtroom burst open and a rather plainly dressed man walks inside quickly.*
It's all well and good to arrest Bac, I follow Nimsy's line of thought on this matter very closely and I am in complete agreement with the motion to lynch Bac. I don't consider it a bandwagon either since there have been no developments since yesterday regarding said lynch outside of what Nimsy herself has said to incriminate him further.
But what we're missing here is something much more important than simple killing and arresting.
We need protection. Our operation is heavily compromised and we're going to need to make some dangerous choices.
Now let me tell you exactly what's wrong with this situation.
I guess it's my fault for not getting here sooner to back up your points on the matter. But Bard you really should not have revealed your role. In fact from what I've seen you really had absolutely no reason to as not a single person here was disputing the idea of Aiber redirecting Ryuk. So when you say "better safe than sorry" you're very wrong.
In fact revealing your role, if that even is your role, would grant you not a lick of safety and instead plunge you into danger.
Unless of course you were lying. Now listen buddy I'm not saying I believe this yet but for the sake of argument I think I'm going to run through the potential result that leads to you being a filthy idealist and a criminal I'd like to stomp out. Now you see... in reality there is a way doing what you're doing could be classified as safe. If you were an idealist then revealing would grant you plenty of safety... and let me explain why.
Imagine a nice plan cooking up in that worthless runt Kira's headquarters. Misa goes to investigate the Ace Attorney... and they decide they want to have some more integration with the populace, they want to build up trust with one of their members. So they jump for a win-win-win situation that presents itself on a silver platter.
Send Ryuk after Higuchi... and have Kira kill Higuchi on that same night. You eliminate the third party alright and that's a plus for everyone. But how does this benefit the idealists? Simple, the following day one of their members decides to make a claim.
"I'm Aiber and I redirected Ryuk."
Two things can happen as a result of this.
1: The real Aiber counter claims you... and Kira is easily able to kill him to remove the issue.
2: Nobody counter claims you at all out of fear and you gain a nice bit of trust and most likely take up one of Sochiro's protection slots for the night.
Now I hear you saying to me already. "Mr. Ceptio there's a problem with option two. It will eventually get me caught and killed." Well here's the thing.
As a member of the elitists you'll always be able to work out exactly whom Aiber redirected... and you can claim that it was your doing so long as the real Aiber is laying low. The moment the true Aiber reveals himself?
Well then the Idealists get themselves a nice kill and a large problem is removed from their plans. Right?
Once again. I'm not going straight for this presumption. But it all seems a little too coincidental and a little too perfectly fitting in my book.
Especially since for some reason you consider yourself "safe" after putting yourself in immediate danger to the mafia by revealing your role. Don't get me wrong Bard, I'm all for believing you. So in order to make sure this is all done pretty fairly... let's look at the facts of the matter.
Sochiro can protect two people. If you're telling the truth? Well then that makes three priority targets.
You, Klippy and I.
Why me? Because I'm a pretty sure bet for being a follower of L by this point. There's no point in hiding it when they've clearly investigated me. I'm the newcomer mentioned by L... I'm the "objection" maker targeted by Misa... you could argue that it was Seth and not me, but I think it's a much safer bet to assume that I was the target instead... and I think it's fair I let you know that there's more to my role than "just a simple lawyer" in all of this.
This means that they probably have intentions to kill me tonight.
So I say we play a game. All of us, Idealists, Justice and Civillian. Sochiro will pick two of the priority targets I mentioned, to protect tonight. He will pick them at random... meaning that the idealists have a one in three chance of killing a priority target depending on whom they pick. If you're telling the truth Bard... and since I know I'm telling the truth... I'll tell you now that if any one of us three dies? It means very bad thing for the justice.
So I think a random selection of two is the most fair... as it gives us the best chance at preservation we can get. It'll really throw the idealists for a loop... it'll make them think carefully about their choices.
It's all up to Sochiro now anyway. We'll see what they decide to go with.

As for todays arrest. Sorry Bac, nothing has really changed for your case. Looks like I'm sticking with my gut and the evidence presented both today and yesterday for this one.
