We don't have a choice of English classes at our school...we get one standard one, the only option is whether you're going to take the College Prep version or the regular version...there's actually no difference. Our school sacrifices all grammatical education in favor of literature. The problem with that? Everyone at our school hates to read. It doesn't matter whether it's a one-page story or a six-hundred-page novel, they refuse to get into it or even enjoy it. They're so unable to see metaphors and so closed to interpretation on anything that it makes them violently angry when somone *coughmecough* tends to go against their ideas regarding any books that are read in class. Their loss, I guess.
