o.o *pokes* Hey Simon~ @@ You're good in English, right?
o.o Could you help me in my thesis statement? @@ I have it all written down.. and then the teacher says that I have to include the author's name and the book in the thesis..
@@ But if I do that, it'll be a runon sentence..

o.o could you help me, please?
...What's the sentence so far? Who's the turd who wrote the book? What's your essay about?

And you're really not suppose to cram that much into a thesis...

I have seen some episodes of FMA and for some reason, the military uniforms look simular to something of the Russian, German or Austrian-Hungarian military. Austria-Hungry was around until 1918 and as for it looking simular to German or Russian, it looks like its from their military about around WW2. Roughly about the 30's to mid 40's.

That's because FMA is generally an amalgam of all the various European countries around the turn of the century, slighly older, slightly less old because of the anachronism, even. There are elements of English, German, Turkish, Austria-Hungarian (like you said), even a bit of American (even though it isn't European...yet) influence in there, so it makes it a fascinating place culturally.

Makes more sence now. Thanks for clearing that up further for me. And thanks for saying that I could bounce ideas of names off of you. Though I'll try not to bother you by doing that.:rambo:

I read the treatise, Jack, but didn't understand a word of it; but then again, I'm firearm-illiterate >D

I'd like an FMA soldier costume; if I dyed my hair orange I would make a convincing Breda at a cosplay convention D:

It wouldn't bother me at all, Mystic : D

Yeah... but I think it's because my thesis is kinda complicated..
It's:

Computers can never replace mankind because of their inability to progress without human interference; it is impossible for machinery to become independent entities because they are incapable of experiencing emotions, and because of the fundamental lack of a natural evolutionary system.

._. and the book is Microserfs by Douglas Coupland..
;o; Help me please!

<3 I love the ninja-scroll backpacks that they have~~ <3 They're so awesome! <3
Yes! Come to Toronto! <3

Heh. This makes me think of Ghost in the Shell.

Is that the opinion of the writer? If it is, can't you just say something like: As expressed by Douglas Coupland, the author of Microserfs, computers can never...

Would that work...?

If I was to do an FMA cosplay, I'd be either Roy Mustang, Maes Hughes, one of Roy's underlings (most likely Havoc or Fuery), or Greed. I could probably pull off a convincing Wrath or Envy, but it'd be difficult at best.

Whereas I could only see myself as being Breda, Al (in armor), Gluttony, or, if I lost some weight, Hughes.

My dream is to be post-Lab Five Shou Tucker, though. I have no idea how it would be possible, but if it could be done, and I had the means, I would do it.

.. Yeah.. I guess that would work.. ._.
@@ would that show how it relates to the novel? ._. because.. it doesnt actually have a theme..
it's just about someone who writes in their blog about computer programming.. ._.
It's a story about a nerd who wants to get a life.

Breda, armored Alphonse, Gluttony, or a slightly obese Maes? Hmm...

Chimera Shou Tucker? It could be done, but I don't know how you can keep your head upside-down like that for extended periods... O_____o;

My height would make me perfect for an Ed cosplay (I'm 5'1"), but I'm not blond and I don't have automail limbs. I'd be a bit short to be any of the characters I mentioned (except for Wrath), but I believe I'm better-suited to cosplay as them (especially Mustang, Hughes, and Greed).

It'd work as long as that's the opinion of the author. It'd also work if your teacher doesn't really know anything about the book.

Unfortunately people of my size don't have many cosplaying options. I have an amazing Miroku costume lying somewhere in my room, but I've only worn it once because I look absolutely nothing like him.

I envy the person who can accurately cosplay as Armstrong...grr...

Therein lies the problem of being chimera Tucker...I *think* I would be able to do it for a bit longer than a few minutes, though obviously not hours...it would take a lot of patience and pain tolerance, though. I don't know how I stand in that department.

You're lucky; most anime characters tend to be smallish...anyone who's 6'2 like me tends to be rail-thin, so I'm completely excluded in that area of accuracy as well. Heh...it would be amusing to see you as Wrath; I don't know of many people who would be willing to do that...

I don't think that there's a single person in this world who can accurately cosplay as Armstrong. XD

Me as Wrath? Well, it's only a last-ditch option should my Mustang, Hughes, or Greed cosplays fail miserably. Even if I manage to pull off a successful Wrath cosplay, unenlightened individuals would think that I was a girl. O_o;

Once, at an Anime Convention.. there was this really pretty 'girl' cosplaying in a yellow dress :3
So I went to compliment her and I said: "Nice dress! It's so pretty!"
o_o and 'she' replied in this REALLY deep man's voice: "Thanks"
X3 I got so shocked!! I didn't know it was a guy!! He looked so much like a girl!! It was really funny, though X3~
