4th Gen Did you like the additions to the Pokedex in Platinum?

I enjoyed the additions and that there was a lot more variety so that every trainer I faced didn't have a Steelix and I didn't have to fight an Octillery while challenging an electric type Gym Leader.

That was the best idea ever.
Excluding 1/8th of the Sinnoh Pokémon from the Sinnoh Pokédex was a 404-Error to me.

I actually invented a sidequest in Diamond/Pearl, which consisted of "See/catch all of those National Dex-only 4th gen Pokémon"

The lack of fire types didn't really affect me, because I chose Chimchar.
Whenever I picked Piplup or Turtwig, I always ended up going through the game with only one Pokémon.
(I sometimes traded between Diamond and Pearl to have the three starters in my team, which eliminated the need for a Fire-type.)

Yes! I liked the addtions to the Pokdex, because it means more vvariety of Pokeomn to train. XD

I don't have Platinum but this addition sounds very good. All additions are good. ^^ Gotta buy Platinum though I have Pearl.

Please don't bump threads over a month old since the last post please.

That said I'll give this another chance and see if any more replies come from it this time around.

i like it. gts is the place where i make trades and the additions make me offer/seek them without even trading with palpad

The additions to the Sinnoh Dex were excellent. It increased the options for fire types, added strong pokemon for more varied teams and altogethor was a big improvement on D/P. These new evolutions should have been in the Diamond and Pearl pokedexes, for whatever reason they weren't.

Definitely, some of the new additions like Houndoom, Magnezone, and Frosslass have been a very huge help to me back then, I'm extremely grateful for the new additions to say the least due to how much they helped me against the E4.

I like how Platinum included more Fire-types cos in Diamond & Pearl we were stuck between choosing either Chimchar or Ponyta.

And it's good you now get an Eevee once you get to Hearthome City.

Yes - it was very good. :D

It helped me on my team and helped me complete the National Pokdex easier. One of my favourite inclusions was Absol. :D

Yeah, it makes more sense to have Generation IV evolutions added into the Pokédex, and not leaving them out in the open.

With that being said, I was really glad that I could get a Magnezone for my Platinum Team! :D

i loved that there where actually fire types unlike in Diamond and Pearl.

Am I the only one that didn't notice there were so few fire types in D/P?

But yeah, Platinum was soooo much better for including more pokemon. I'm pretty sure Togekiss was available, which is pretty awesome.

I loved it, though at first I was like"WTF why is there 210? Pearl and Diamond had less O_o". I thought it added more variety and my team was more diverse than it was in Pearl/Diamond.

I thought the evolution to Dusclops was uneeded. I really loved all the new pre-evos though (Bonsly, Mimejr, Munchlax)
