absolutely not. if you have to change to fit in with them, then they're not worth it. individuality is a great thing, don't throw it away for something like that. you were made to be your own individual person, and if people don't like the person you are, then they're not worth spending time with because it doesn't matter what other people think of you. The only thing that matters is what you think of yourself.

It's more than great, it's beautiful.

You're quite condratdicting yourself there by answering your own question. Hehe~

Anyhoo, Indivuality is an amazing thing and we should all cherish it. If you need to change yourself in any way to fit in then I think it isn't actually worth all the effort. If people cannot see who you really are then they are a waste of time.

However, sometimes people need to change. If someone needs to change in a positive way to benief someone else or themselves, then I think it's okay to an extent. But we need to take into consideration, that everyone changes in one way or another for a variety of different reasons; whether it be as an emotional shield, social shield, social acceptance ect.

No, I don't feel like I have to change so I could fit in. People still accept me for who I am.

I get that feeling all the time. When you're as private and closed-off a person as me, good luck fitting into any crowd at all. XD

It's not really worth changing yourself to fit into something. It's better being yourself, than someone who you're not. I like being myself, what ever the situation may be. People will just have to accept that. But sometimes you can come across a moment when you have to change yourself. I just try to avoid those things really.

No, not really. However, there are multiple sides to my personality, and depending on which circle of friends I'm hanging out with (the otaku, the guys from church, etc.) I have to show various facets of my personality while trying to hide others.

If I wanted to "fit in" then yes, I would have to change myself.

But I don't want to "fit in".

I would rather be hated for who I am rather than be liked for who I'm not.

And I don't care about fitting in anyway, as it's always hard for me to fit in.

If I have to change myself to fit in, I probably don't wanna be hanging around with you.

No, fitting in is waaaay too much trouble, being yourself is much easier than being anything else. :D

I had to change myself to get friends since 1st grade. And I'm still doing that, no one accepts me for who I am.

Well, I act myself, whether that's a good or bad thing, I don't know.

The way I see it, the way society works, you have to change yourself to fit in. Especially when it comes to being in high school. Being an individual is frowned upon by those who fit in, but I feel like everyone is born and raised to be an individual, but when mixed with other people, they try to become like each other for one reason or another... for the most part. I, for one, do not like fitting in with the in crowed and would much rather be a creative, free spirit, than one stripped of all individuality and approve of people calling me names like "freak" and "weird" because I'm different than them due to them being jealous of that. It feeds my ego.

Well if I wanted to be popular and all that, yeah I'd have to change myself. My school is a small private school, and 80% of the student body is on at least one sports team. Most of the people who aren't at least like sports, and... yeah, I don't play or like them haha. So since I go to a very sports-centric high school I don't really fit in. Everyone is really nice though, and I do have a group of friends that's awesome. It's just... I'm not popular XD Which is fine by me, I prefer to just be myself and have only a few friends rather than pretend to be someone else and have lots of fake friends.

Overall I think there will always be at least one or two people who like you for you, or if they don't like you for you they'll like you for being you and not being somebody else.

To fit in means you have to change to fit what others think you should be. You're talking about being an individual which is the farthest thing from fitting in there is.
