So, aside from the odd title, what are some of your Thanksgiving/Christmas traditions? Do you celebrate with a huge family or just immediate ones such as your mom or dad and siblings? What sorts of things do you look forward to during those holidays? :3

One of my biggest traditions is watching Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was a tradition that started at my grandmother's house when we lived in Maine. She would always let me watch it while cooking Thanksgiving dinner. <3 Ever since then, I've never gone one year without seeing it.

As for family, we used to have a big family at thanksgiving and christmas, but since we moved to Maine... it's been just me, my parents and our pets.

What I look forward to the most about the holidays are the presents the Christmas specials and just that overall joy of Christmas. <3

Usually just a family lunch on Thanksgiving Say, nothing more. And I don't celebrate Christmas, booooo. I do wanna actually go to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade one day, though, it's something that's right at my fingertips, and I could grab it if I wanted to.

Every Thanksgiving (and Christmas), it's a tradition for my grandmother to come over and have dinner with us. On Thanksgiving though, we just watch the parade on NBC, then any football games that come after. Then we have our meal then go about the evening. Then on Black Friday, we usually go up to see my grandfather in northern Florida. Then on the following Saturday, we usually get our Christmas decorations out of the shed and begin to put them up.

On Christmas eve, I'm usually forced to bed so that my parents can put the gifts under the tree without me seeing them (even at this day and age). Then I wake up at 7am and get to wake mom and dad up to start opening the gifts. Once everyone is up, my parents sit on the couch, my brother sits in the chair in our living room, and I sit on the floor to pass out gifts. Usually my dad is taking pictures of us as well open up the gifts. Then we usually eat ham for dinner and whatever ham is leftover is used the following day (December 26th) for homemade Cuban sandwiches.

I don't celebrate either, but Shop-Rite gives you a free turkey around Thanksgiving time if you meet a certain purchase threshold so I do get pretty psyched about that!

It's my sister's birthday on Christmas so we probably just acknowledge that if nothing else haha. I usually just like to sit by a space heater and read a book all day.

well before i joined the navy my mom would put up the tree the day after thanks giving (a pointless American holiday where we get even fatter) and i always hated it, i dont like decorating the tree and contributing to the holiday decorations ( i know i will have to endure it with my future wife, but I'm prepared for those days) i just wasn't a big fan of it growing up and i thing Christmas should not be allowed to be prepped until Dec. 1st. just my opinion

On Thanksgiving, me and my parents watch the Thanksgiving day parade on TV. After, we go to my grandparents house where we meet with my dad's side of the family and have turkey and all that good stuff.

On Christmas, we first open gifts, and then go to my aunts house where we meet with my mom's side of the family and have Christmas day dinner and enjoy being together. I prefer this more than what we do on Thanksgiving tbh. I am closer to my mom's side of the family rather than my dads.

we do not do thanksgiving in the uk as that is more of an American holiday. Anyhow we put the tree up on the first weekend of december. On christmas eve we go to my daughters grandparents on her dads side after dinner to get her presents from them and her aunts and her dad. Christmas we open presents in the morning then go to my sisters for our dinner. On the 26th we go to my grandmothers for her family get together.

On Thanksgiving we really don't do a whole lot of anything other than just eating a ton of amazing food and spending time with family. Occasionally we will put up the Christmas tree but we usually wait until the day after or do it sometime before.

There were traditions that my family followed - getting together with some extended family for dinner on both Thanksgiving and Christmas, switching which family takes over which holiday each yeah, but now that I'm on my own I don't follow any traditions since I don't really do much to celebrate either. It's not that much different from any day off for me.

I wake my parents up at like three or four in the morning. XD I get so excited about Christmas that I just can't wait.

Another tradition we have is after thanksgiving, we use the rest of the turkey to make turkey sandwiches. :3

We don't celebrate traditions of any sort and our venues change per year, as do the people we're with. This year we're strictly with a family friend and cousin, while last year we were with friends and family alike, and the year before it was strictly close family. That was for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, haha. But anyway, I kind of wish we had traditions, but alas.

On Thanksgiving day, normally I spend the day with my family eating a feast then relaxing and watching football for the rest of the day. Normally, I also wake up watching the Macy's Day Parade as well (I forgot about that). I celebrate Thanksgiving with my immediate family, but there is enough food for my entire family. My mother enjoys cooking. xp

For Christmas, normally I have a Christmas with the entire family and then on Christmas day it is with my immediate family. Normally, I travel and meet up with my mamaw's and eat at her house one night. Stay at her house, then go to my pawpaws the next day and go out to eat. Then, on Christmas day I'm normally home an just spend the day at home, relaxing and playing with my new gifts.

No real Thanksgiving traditions to speak of. It was a while ago for me anyway. :P

Christmas... I dunno. I guess we always open one present on Christmas Eve and we have a nice dinner on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; we don't really live near any other family to do anything more interesting than that. Pretty much any other traditions we had will probably be overturned this year... :( My parents separated last year around this time and while we had a normal Christmas last year, they no longer live together. I imagine they'll do their best to make things as close to normal as possible but it'll still be spread across two houses. I'm actually not sure where we're staying or how it's gonna work this year but I've no doubt we'll just figure out new traditions so it's all good.

omg. I forgot that we do this too. That's one of the traditions we have had every year. We open the rest on Christmas day, and I always wake my parents at the crack of dawn. XD

Also, when I was little... my mom used to have this tradition where she would buy me one of those fat candy canes. She still has my very first candy cane I licked. My mom is weird but yeah. She stopped doing it when I got older though. XD

We put up a tree and we have a massive barbecue with my extended family where we all exchange presents and go swimming. On Easter we do the same but with chocolate and the same for every other celebration we do the same thing.

Well my family doesn't celebrate Christmas, but we do take advantage of the sales before and after it. My mum drags us out of the house to go clothes shopping. It's hell, especially since Christmas time in Australia falls in the summer and it is usually boiling outside. But at least I get a ton of new clothes~

I don't celebrate Christmas because I'm Muslim. But my friends are mostly Christian, and I buy them all little gifts for Christmas.

    What religion are you?

Well, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. (We're Bulgarian, so duh)

As for Christmas Eve & Christmas itself, we have a nice traditional Bulgarian dinner (BG folklore FTW) for Christmas Eve, and for Christmas we have chicken, a special Bulgarian dessert with pumpkin & cinnamon and other food. ^^
