UPDATE!
This version of the Dynamax & Max Raids plugin is no longer supported. A superior version of this plugin that incorporates Z-Moves and Ultra Burst into a single project - known as the ZUD Plugin - has been released, and is the version I will be supporting from here on out. Please go to that thread for all Dynamax-related content. No need to post anything in here.
This is an adaptation of the original Dynamax tutorial by fauno. Credits go to them and those who contributed.
Their original tutorial was a bit confusing for people who are new at this, so I aimed to simplify this into something more cohesive. There are still many small things that need to be installed manually in different sections, but I've tried to keep this to a minimum and make it as streamlined as possible.

Overview
This script aims to incorporate Pokemon Sword & Shield's Dynamax mechanic, and re-imagine it for Pokemon Essentials 18.1 in the most accurate way possible. I have tried to make everything reflect how it would work in the main series, although there are probably small things that still need work. In addition to this, a secondary goal of mine was to make this script as compatible as possible with other battle mechanics. This includes Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Ultra Burst, and Zodiac Powers (introduced in my Pokemon Birthsigns scripts). At the moment, most of these third party scripts are not updated for v18.1, and are thus incompatible. However, I have left placeholders in this project to try and ensure future compatibility when they eventually are. I will update this project for compatibility if necessary.
What is Dynamax?
Spoiler:
Dynamax Mechanics
In the main series, Dynamaxing a Pokemon makes it grow enormous, and significantly boosts its HP by at least 50% for 3 turns. During this time, all of that Pokemon's moves become Max Moves, which usually boast powered up strength and new effects. Much like how Dynamax works in the main series, Pokemon that Dynamax will become enlarged and be given a reddish glow (along with a deepened cry when sent back out) while its effects are active. You can disable these elements with various toggles that come in the script.
Activating Dynamax
While in battle when the right conditions are met, a button will display allowing you to Dynamax your Pokemon. If so, you will recall your Pokemon momentarily while its ball is infused with Dynamax energy, and it'll then be sent back out in its Dynamax form. In the main series, this is all displayed through animation. But because Essentials doesn't have the same sort of visuals to express this mechanic like the main series can, I decided to add text to convey what's happening. This is one of the few areas where I decided to make things differently to how it works in the main series.
Dynamax Levels
A Pokemon's Dynamax level affects how much its HP total increases by when it Dynamaxes. For each Dynamax Level a Pokemon has, its total HP is increased by an additional 5% when Dynamaxed, up to a maximum of an additional 50% at Dynamax Level 10. This script emulates this mechanic, and allows you to increase your Pokemon's Dynamax Level with Dynamax Candies. Each one you feed to your Pokemon will increase its Dynamax Level by 1. You can view your Pokemon's current Dynamax Level on its Stat page in the Summary.
Gigantamax Factor
Any Pokemon is capable of Dynamaxing. However, when a Pokemon has a Gigantamax form, it can Gigantamax into this form if it has the Gigantamax Factor. In the main series, you weren't able to manually give your Pokemon the Gigantamax Factor until the Isle of Armor introduced Max Soup, which can be fed to a Pokemon to give it this G-Max Factor. While not an item in the main series, for the sake of simplicity I decided to add an item called "Max Soup" in this project. When fed to a Pokemon who has a Gigantamax form, it will give them the G-Max Factor. The G-Max Factor will be displayed in the Pokemon's Summary.
Gigantamax Forms
Certain species have Gigantamax forms, and all of them up to the Isle of Armor have been included in this script. I haven't included battler sprites for these forms (but icon sprites are), but they should work with whatever sprites you decide to add, as long as they are named appropriately. G-Max sprites use "_gmax" at the end of their file names, similar to how Shadow Pokemon sprites work. So for example, sprites for G-Max Charizard would look like "006_gmax" and "006b_gmax" for its front and back sprites.
Max Moves
When Dynamaxed, all of the Pokemons moves are converted into Max Moves, based on the typing of the base moves (except if it's a status move, in which case it becomes Max Guard). If the Pokemon is Gigantamaxed, moves of the corresponding type will instead become an exclusive G-Max moves. All Max Move and G-Max Move effects up to the Isle of Armor have been implemented in this script. Data for the Pokemon's Max Moves can be viewed in the Summary while it is Dynamaxed.
Max Raid Battles
You can challenge wild Dynamaxed Pokemon in events known as Max Raid Dens. Here, you will be pitted against a Raid Boss with a permanent Dynamax status with improved HP, moves, and a variety of other conditions such as raid shields and battle timers. Upon defeating or capturing a raid Pokemon, you will receive a variety of rewards based on the difficulty of the raid, how well you did in battle, and a variety of other conditions. For more info on raid battles, check out the Max Raid updates in this post.
Max Raid Database
This is a completely new feature not found in the main series that I thought to include in this project. This is a database of every species that may appear in a Max Raid Den. From here, you can use a variety of filters to narrow down your search and view the data pages of specific species to see what moves they may be carrying when encountered in a raid, and what raid levels they can be found in, among other things. When accessing the Database in debug mode, you can challenge species in a test Max Raid battle by pressing the Z key. More info about the Max Raid Database can be found in its own section found in this post.
