Epilogue - Once Upon a Time


Night #2
The crowd gathered around Bardothren. He had come up with a plan to route out the evil from the city, but it had fallen on deaf ears. The King had heard his pleas, much like the late arachnidsGrip, the King could trust noone.

Noose ready, Bardothren was walked to his death. He was was solemn, his face unusually calm. With each step he took his fingers waves behind his back, a magic spell weaving its way to the guards around him and the nearby bystanders. The chaos soon erupted.

"W...where did he go?" The first guard was flabbergasted, his eyes weaving around the scene. Somehow, his gaze missed the form of Bardothren - stood quite plainly next to him. Another guard joined the confusion, soon enough there was a frenzy of guards blindly thrashing around for their invisible perpetrator.

Slipping through the crowd, Bardothren made his escape - managing to break free of the rabble and head for shelter. As he reached for the door to his lair he was hit. The wood was splattered with blood.

"Don't worry sire, he's hit," the King's guard reassured. Bardothren was dead.

On his way home, Klippy slid the hourglass on to Eros's lap as he slept on a park bench. This misdeed was noted by Bacteriophage who picked up the relic and left it back on Klippy's door step. Enraged, Klippy returned the hourglass Eros. It [was then that the final grains of sand fell through the chamber - the magic began, a mysterious glow caught the attention of the anxious townsfolk. Three curses and a blessing took affect that evening, it wouldn't be until the following day that they would find out what had happened.


Bardothren is dead.

Day #3
"Such a shame," The Mystic murmured as he inspected the bodies. Their eyes were locked open, twitching in place, yet they could not control the body they had entered. Rather than letting them die on the spot he released them from their old bodies.

With no anchor to the real world the spirits of the deceased strove to move on, back to their land of fairy-tales, but the trickster was not done yet. With a wave of his hand the souls vanished from the room, leaving Deceptio and Absol used bite! lifeless in their beds.

The Angel had reached the crypt for a second night, resting her hands on Seth Rollin's head she sought the truth to his death. The short sharp flashbacks she saw were confusing - contradictory. Pain, agony. Both evil and good. A power like no other, immense strength. However, The Angel was certain her vision was correct, she had uncovered the truth. Seth Rollin's had been killed by the Evil-doers' spell, and he was The Dragon.

Before she had time to leave unnoticed, a strong wind gushed through the door, left slightly ajar. With it came a new soul, finding its home in Christos' body. As he coughed himself awake, his bodily wounds healed his torn and bruised neck fading to normal.

The Angel had fled quickly, but she hadn't gone completely unseen. Nor had The Mystic foreseen such unexpected side effects to his magic, the bridge between the two worlds merged further.

The Evil-doers used the day to rest, they kept to themselves on this night. Individually they sent their crows around the capital, however rather than finding a target they found an ally. Converging on the small house, the Evil-Doers finally met face to face in their new bodies.


Christos and Charlie Brown woke up.

A new riddle had arrived, lodged on to Bardothren's door with the arrow that killed him. It read:
We are small herds in the mountains. Perhaps you have seen our skilled jumping. Who am i?

So did no one die last night? It was just dropouts?

And also, is the riddle solved or no? The way Pete said that, it sounds like it is, but even if it's not I don't have an answer right now anyways.

edit: oh, but the dragon was turned good by the sorceress. shit, would've been a useful ally
 
Well, I may as well put in a guess. My guess is Klipspringer. That shouldn't be correct, though, because they form mating pairs, not herds.
 
A stranger jumps forth with a golden blade.
He strikes his target. Bacteriophage is dead.
The assassin slips away.
