Eternal Nightmare - [PG-16]

Volk felt cold beady eyes gazing at from behind an earthly skull. The Cubone was staring at him with piercing, no more like, intensely emotionally eyes. Why did everyone look at him in one way or another? Were spiders that disliked or weird so much?

The Joltik stifled a muffled tear as he looked into his pouch to get something to satisfy his hollow stomach. He was clumsy in taking the food out and from the opening, 3 Pecha berries rolled out and down the road disappearing into the darkly silhouettes of the streets. Hey! It was most of what he packed, leaving a huge Sitrus and couple of Apples in his bag. Those Pechas were his favourite, being sweet and just ripe at a good time of the season. He need to get them back but the eeriness ahead forbid him.

Mustering every ounce of his courage, he glance back at Julie, Silver and Saphyre before making his way down the silent road. He heard some noises behind from the group, indicating that the Houndoom had came back with Lucifer and someone else, a female girl who sounded like one of those uptown Pokemon that gathered together for high-tea.

Volk spotted a faint pink berry lying on the concrete road and he picked it up. As he dusted off the dirt from his Pecha, the Joltik crawled over to another berry further down. One more...where is it?

He noticed it from afar but there was something standing there. A brawny figure of a dinosaur-like Pokemon. He gasped as he slowly walked to the Pokemon standing there, still. He looked and it was a Cranidos, looking tough with hardened scars and the physique of a good warrior. Yet, he was slightly intimidating and Volk became wary in case it attacked him for no reason. He stepped swiftly towards the Pecha berry before the Cranidos crushed it, accidentally or not. Volk mumbled a soft 'Hi', before carefully turning his back on the Pokemon and moving off back to the group. Once or twice, he glanced back and the Cranidos just stared at him, as if knowingly. It creeped him out and Volk fastened his pace.

Sparky woke up. He had another nightmare. "Why these nightmares...?" said he to himself. He jumped off the bed made out of leaves and looked around. One candle stopped burning already. Sparky'd had to wait until the morning to put it back on. Suddenly, he heard some noises. "...Who's there?" he shouted. After overcoming his fear, he left his cave and looked around. There was the noise again. "Who's there?" he said. And he heard the noise again while he saw a moving bush. "What are you? A bush monster?" he said while walking to the bush. "No, I'm not!" said the bush. "You look like one to me..." said Sparky. What a weird bush, he thought. "Still, I'm not a bush monster. Could you let me pass, please?" said the bush. Suddenly, smoke came out of the bush. Sparky couldn't see anything. He heard something running away. The smoke was hot. Sparky decided to go in his cave again, when he suddenly noticed one of his candles was stolen. "Those... those..." he said. "They stole my candle!" Sparky started crying. He only had two left. Suddenly, a dark figure appeared in front of him. "Sparky..." it said. Sparky didn't stop crying, but he did answer. "Leave me alone..." he said. "If you want to have your candles back, come see me at my palace." it said. "Where is it?" he asked, but the shadow didn't answer and just disappeared.

Xandra rolled her eyes and stared at Lucifer.. "Firstly, why are you looking at me every 10 seconds? You're acting all stalker-like and such.. It's getting weird. " She said, and let go of her cold stare.

Lucifer gulped and looked away, hiding his little blush, "Oops, sorry about that Xandra. And yes, I'm with them."

Actually, they're with me. Lucifer wanted to correct that but oh well, so he walked out of the alley and looked at them both, signalling for them to follow him back to the others. Xandra was actually right, he WAS looking at her once every ten seconds, and the only possible explanation was he...no, it can't be...can it? Can it? *echo echo echo* I-I...no that can't happen.

Lucifer quickly shook that thought away and walked back into the crowd. He noticed the little spider pokemon Volk searching for his berries. Before Volk approached the Cranidos, Lucifer didn't notice his existence, but when he did, his eyes narrowed. A Cranidos is known for his little brain, and approaching him like that was another way of suicide.

Lucifer wanted to warn him, but he didn't. He couldn't let Silver and the others affect him, so he turned and ignored the commotion. Plus, Lucifer could still remember his taunt.

Lucifer was still in deep thought. The reason why he kept looking at Xandra because...because she looked awfully familiar. Why she looked so familiar? He had no idea though. Even her name sounded familiar. Even if he knew her before, it was many years ago. That made him think about his childhood memories.

When Lucifer was still a little Riolu, not only did he play with his little brother or the legendary pokemon Mew, he found a special playmate. But when they were having fun, Lucifer's parents...ugh, Lucifer's parents...he didn't want to think of those two, Lucifer's parents dragged him away, and they moved to Paranoia City, because they thought living under Darkrai's power was a good thing.

Well they were wrong. Look at us now, mother, father. Lucifer growled. Why couldn't I stay in that Uzès City?! It was a rather nice place to stay...and my best friend is there...well...was there...I don't know where she is anymore.

Lucifer frowned as he closed his eyes, trying to remember as much as possible. Then when he looked at Xandra again, his eyes widened. No, it can't be...no, it's probably somebody else..

(Ooc:Sparky is on the right rp yay so I didn't completly screw up that post)

Julie turned to Silver.

"I don't know...."Julie said.

Julie's eyes kept closing and her head kept nodding,she ended up falling asleep.

~~~~
"What exactly do you think your doing Darkri?"Julie said looking at Darkri angerly.
A black ball came from Darkri's hand and to Julie.Just as it was about to hit her Silver jumped infront of her.
"Silver!"Julie screamed seeing he wasn't moving.
"Fool."Darkri replied.
Now Lucifer comes in and ends up killing darkri.
"Lucifer..."Julie said.
Lucifer turned around looking at her angerly.
"My brother is dead because you can't take a hit if he can stop it."Lucifer replied.
Lucifer ran up to her and just as he was about to kill her....
~~~~~~

"Lucifer don't!"Julie screamed.

She smacked her paw over her mouth and slowly leaned back.She turned to Silver and sighed in relief.

*sorry short post*

Lucifer was startled as he looked at her. That face...that face...looked awfully familiar.

"Uhh.. Lucifer.. What are you thinking about? You seem to be in deep thought." She said to him.. the thought of him being the Riolu kept appearing in her mind, but she shrugged it off for now.

Xandra spoke, and Lucifer shot up, alerted. When he saw it was Xandra talking he smiled a little. Could it be?

"I'm ....i'm thinking of an old friend of mine."

Lucifer then looked at the Joltik, he was pretty amused since he taunted him before. Now he was getting what he deserved

Xandra...Xandra...the name...was so familiar...why...?

"Uhh.. did you.. perhaps.. live in a town named.. Uzès? Or am I wrong.." She asked, looking away from his eyes which looked very familiar now..

Then suddenly it hit him. It WAS her, the Kirlia he played with when he was a little Riolu, the Kirlia he was forced to part with when his parents dragged him away.

"Yes...X-Xandra...!" Lucifer gasped. When he said her name, the tone was a little different than before, it was a more friendly and familiar tone. For one second, he sounded like his old self ,the Riolu that she played with.

"Y-you're here...for me..." Lucifer blushed a little and spoke softly. She was looking for him...and finally, she found him...after all these years

(I'm P.O.'d right now!!! Deleted my huge long post TWICE because of busy server!!! AAAAGGGHH!!! >o<)

Silver saw Lucifer with a Kirlia, she was familiar...

It's Xandra!

Slver hopped to his feet smiling and hugged her.

"Remember me??"

He felt memories flooding back...

~~~
"I... Um... I have stuff to go do, bye b-brother!" the little black Riolu stammered before running back to the city, leaving his brother to play alone. Mew only came on summers and falls. He sighed, alone again, but decided to see what his brother kept leaving him for. He smiled when he saw Lucifer with Xandra. "Hehehe... Brother found himself a ate, did he?" Silver hopped down and smiled at both of them. "Hi Xandra!" Silver smiled. They were in the same class at school. Somehow, Lucifer and her hadn't met until recently.He smiled, sensing a connection between them. "Brother, you got youself a mate?" They both blushed and Silver giggled innocently. After that, all three of themwould play. Then they moved... But then after moving he met Julie...
~~~

Silver smiled, they were close friends, but not like she was with Lucifer. He knew all along that they like like each other, but neither of them seemed to make a move. Xandra talked about evolving to Gallade.

"Um, didn't you listen in evolution class?"

He smiled politely.

"Male Kirlia evolve in Gallade... But female Kirlia evolve into Gardevoir..."

He smiled more.

"I think you'd make a great Gardevoir Xandra..."

He pictured Lucifer with Gardevoir Xandra. Perfect fit.

"You'd also make a great sister-in-law..."

He laughed, his innocence no different than when he as little, putting pressure on Lucifer by teasing him.
(Oh yeah, I WENT THERE! XD)

Xandra blushed, but she got quite a bit angry when he said that she was here for him. "Don't think like that Lucifer. I'm also here in a search on how to evolve into a Gallade!" She commented, crossing her arms at first, then hugging him soon after.

"Good point," Lucifer said softly, hugging her back, wrapping his arms around her, "You've been telling me that since we were kids.

"I... Um... I have stuff to go do, bye b-brother!" the little black Riolu stammered before running back to the city, leaving his brother to play alone. Mew only came on summers and falls. He sighed, alone again, but decided to see what his brother kept leaving him for. He smiled when he saw Lucifer with Xandra. "Hehehe... Brother found himself a ate, did he?" Silver hopped down and smiled at both of them. "Hi Xandra!" Silver smiled. They were in the same class at school. Somehow, Lucifer and her hadn't met until recently.He smiled, sensing a connection between them. "Brother, you got youself a mate?" They both blushed and Silver giggled innocently. After that, all three of themwould play. Then they moved... But then after moving he met Julie...

This time, it was Lucifer who intercepted his thoughts, and he smiled a little. The good old days, but of course, when Lucifer was just a Riolu he wished that Silver didn't know about her, so they could play alone, privately. Well even though if Silver didn't know about her they couldn't play anymore, they moved.

Lucifer let go as Silver talked about evolution. When they were young, Xandra's been telling him about this already, and Lucifer always told her that there was a way, and she only had to search for it. He supported her in every way as he liked her very much when they were young, and Lucifer's feeling for her had never disappeared.

"Yes, we remember," Lucifer told his brother, 'we' as in Lucifer and Xandra, "The thing is, people say there's a way. How? Not really sure though. Whoever can make that happen must possess a lot of power, but it isn't impossible."

"You'd also make a great sister-in-law-"

Silver laughed, and Lucifer could feel himself blushing, so he pounced onto Silver and tickled him, knowing that he was afraid of those. For a few seconds he felt like his own playful self...

Silver laughed, being tickled to death by Lucifer after his smart-alec comment. He didn't care, it was well over worth it. He giggled and laughed, trying to speak.

"Hehehehe... S-stop! Please!!"

He pushed him off and stood up, dusting his shoulders off and smiling.

"I still stand by my statement..."

More smart remarks from Silver. He beamed his thoughts to Lucifer.

Brother, you two are already very close, yet neither of you do anything! You should ask her out, brother!

He smiled and looked at Xandra.

"So, what've you been up to since we moved? Besides looking for Lucifer..."

He giggled a bit. He loved teasing people, nicely though, of course. He stared at both of them, both of which he waited for answers from.

Julie was leaning on a tree behind them smiling.She didn't want to say anything,she wanted to be quiet as they talked to their old friend.Julie stopped leaning on the tree and headed back to her house.When she got inside she flipped the swich and the electricity came back on.She walked to her living room and sat on the couch.She thought about a old friend she used to have.She was another Amphros,but normal colored.She moved away about 8 years ago.Julie looked at a picture on her coffie table of her and that amphros and smiled.She ended up falling asleep again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey Silver."Julie said.
No response from Silver.He was talking to Lucifer.
"Hi Lucifer."She said.
No responce from Lucifer.
"Guys?"She said.
No awnser.
"GUYS!"She screamed.
Still no awnser.
Suddenly Cain came up behind her and put a knife infront of her throught.As he was about to cut it....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Julie woke up screaming.

"What was that all about?"She asked herself out loud.

She stood up and went to the kitchen.She grabbed her purse and went to her bedroom.She grabbed a empty backpack and shifted all the contents into it.It was the perfect size for Julie.Julie walked back to the living room and sat it down next to her as she sat down on the couch.

"Well, like I said, I've been looking for a way to evolve into a Gallade, but I've met some rare Pokemon. Two, actually. One who's home is in a sea temple, and one who governs time. Other than that, There were a few battles here and there, and maybe some other Pokemon.. But I've managed to see almost every berry in existence!!!" She said, her 'berry planting interest' had shown up again.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow. He knew those legendaries, but never got the chance to meet one. When Xandra started talking about berries again Lucifer smiled a little as he knew her berry planting hobby was still in her, but when she talked about the Pecha Berry he blinked. That was like the most common berry out there.

"Xandra you know that's the most common berry, right?" Lucifer frowned, hiding a grin and handed Xandra a pinkish berry, capable of curing poison, "You can have mine and plant it."

Then he glanced at Silver as he sent him his thoughts, Brother, it'll come...eventually....I hope. Plus I have no idea if she still likes me now., and shrugged.

Then Xandra turned to him and asked what he had been doing since he moved here. To be honest, he didn't really know...time flied by...he looked at Silver, "What did we do exactly?"

Hm. Nothing. Donas hardly understood why he still took the time to come back to this city anymore. Maybe it was because it was because of his sense of duty. He had to find that Pachirisu and tell the others, no? However, the more he looked, the more he longed to stay in the forest area. The city wasn't good enough for a nice guy like him anyways! It couldn't contain the amount of amazing he gave off with every single step he took. Mhm. Just overload.

Or... Maybe he was a little too connected with his wild-side. Donas gawked slightly when he noticed a berry rolling towards his direction. It hardly made sense. A berry taking a stroll in this nearly desolate city? It took him a little while to process it. Where there trees growing around here now? Was the forest growing? He wouldn't be surprised. There was a lot of space for it to get bigger, and why not move in while all of the people who lived here were going crazy off insomnia or slitting their own throats in their dreams? Growth was just what they needed. For a moment, he gazed at the pink berry dreamily, the temptation to turn around and go from where he came tugging on his scales. That would be nice, to curl up in a nice bush and... Stay awake. Yeah sleeping wasn't an option, he nearly forgot.

Donas grimaced, remembering his awful disposition. Lucky pokemon. They were too busy complaining about how bad their dreams were that they couldn't see how nice it is to be able to drift off sometimes. After being awake for so long dreams start to take it upon themselves to dance in from of your eyes like you were sleeping. Nightmares were a lot more horrific when you absolutely sure you were awake. He shuddered involuntarily, remembering some attacks he'd encountered from his mind's offbeat delusions. At least it kept him guessing. Like a game. His brain was at least nice enough to turn this into a game.

He tilted his head, seeing a random Joltik scuttle out from the darkness like Darkrai himself. He opened his mouth to ask him where on Earth he'd come from, but as soon as he picked up the berry Donas understood. It was his. Yes, the berry actually belonged to someone! What a surprise! He mentally scolded himself for being stupid enough to forget that pokemon actually picked those things sometimes. He almost missed the hello given to him quietly. Shy, are we? He thought quickly. Who had time to be shy now a-days? Donas only waved in response, not thinking that "Hi" was a good enough response to a little spider like that. Mm, a spider with a berry. Thinking about that little thing was starting to make him peckish. I could eat a spider... He shook the thought away, trying to get it out of his mind. Maybe something with a little less uh.... zing.

Just behind the mysterious Joltik were more... Friends of his? He didn't think a pokemon that could barely say "Hi" would have a lot of friends, but maybe they were his voice or something. He snorted, looking at them. Two of them were freaks, the rest... Eh, whatever. Those two Lucario, though... Obviously made in some kind of lab. The first one was completely black, like it had jumped into a tar pit and couldn't get the stains out. The other one... Too bright for its own good. Seriously. It might as well just put glow sticks on its ears and call itself a flashlight. Was it trying to burn out everyone's eyes or was this some kind of serious birth defect? Obviously their parents were exposed to some kind of serious radiation or the scientists that experimented on them had some crazy dreams. Donas had never actually seen a Lucario before, so maybe this wasn't out of the ordinary. He was told they looked like giant Zizagoons with Grumpig patterns and Blaziken spikes. Seemed like he had the right pokemon so far. He was disappointed now that he'd seen one. They were a lot uglier than he thought they would be and probably weren't as smart as the general population made them out to be. Right now they were all on the ground tickling each other like they had just hatched or something! Ugh. Call a babysitter.

He approached them, an idea of minor investigation floating in his mind. Maybe they'd lost it. The darkness was just too much for the childish pokemon and now they were sinking into some kind of protective state of idiocy. Dear Arceous... No wonder that Joltik was so shy! He was stuck with a bunch of loonies!

"So what are you guys doing?" Donas asked in a half-curious tone. "Going door-to-door to sell some cheer and happiness? I guess we're on a mission to tickle the darkness away, eh?"

(Sorry it took a while. I've been busy with RP madness. X3)

Silver smiled.

"Celebi? I swear I saw her once!! Even if Lucifer denies it. And we grew up playing with Mew, because mother and father never wanted t... Nevermind..."

Silver sighed. Parents were not a good subject. He changed it.

"So how exactly do you think you can be a Gallade? It sounds hard..."

He suddenly turned to Lucifer and shouted,

"Revenge!!"

He tackled Lucifer and began tickling, like Lucifer had just done before.

"It's better if we don't talk about it....plus, it's boring here" Lucifer said but then he heard a strange scream from behind that sounded like a high-pitch squeal from his brother.

"Revenge!!" Silver tackled from behind and started tickling Lucifer like mad, and that triggered his fun bone. Lucifer and Silver rolled on the ground, ticking each other, having their first 'fun' experience in years.

"No you don't...!" Lucifer had enough fun and stopped him, standing up, brushing the dust off his body with a smile on his face, "We're acting silly."

Lucifer found himself smiling at lot more since Xandra's arrival, and he was a little like his old Riolu self for quite a while. When Silver said it was hard, Lucifer shot him a glance then looked at Xandra.

"If you want to evolve into a Gallade, Xandra," Lucifer pointed at Darkrai's Castle, "He, whoever he is, might be able to help."

He can destroy Darkrai, or keep him as a hostage with ease. If I can do what he wants, he might be able to help Xandra.

Silver's eyes lit up with an idea.

"Wait!! Mew knows every move, I mean EVERY move! If we run into her she could teach you whatever moves you liked!!!"

Silver sounded excited about it, then it faded and he frowned.

"But we haven't seen her since we moved..."

He sighed. He missed her a lot. Being a legendary was probably a lot of work...

Hessen the Wartortle and his old pal Glaceon were sledding down a nearby hill covered in snow.

"This time Glace, you're going down!"

"Not a chance, Hess!"

They started the race; Hessen quickly used Withdraw and started speeding down the hill. He was inches behind Glaceon when Hessen heard something in the distance:

"Revenge!"

Snover was at the bottom of the hill, judging Glaceon as the winner by only a couple seconds. Hessen slid out of his shell, curious as to what he heard.

"Haha Hess, I beat you fair and... Hey, what's the matter?"

"I thought I heard something, over near my den."

"Let's go check it out then, Hess."

Glaceon and Hessen snuck over to some bushes near Hessen's den. Carefully, Hessen peeked through the brush to investigate.

Horror struck Hessen and his friend: there lay Blastoise, Hessen's father, with a shadowy aura around his corpse. A large, floating figure loomed over Blastoise. The overhead trees cloaked his appearance. The figure began to laugh maniacally. And then....
~
...Hessen bolted awake: he was covered in a cold sweat. Ever since he moved out of Snowpoint City into Paranoia Town he began having nightmares, or rather night terrors. The fear of losing his father engulfed him every night as he slept for the past couple weeks.

Hessen's furry ears pointed towards rustling he had heard across the street. He got up, and began to walk to his neighbor Cain's house. To his amazement, Hessen saw 2 Lucarios! He hasn't seen one since his days training on Iron Island with his father. Then he saw Cain, with a sour look directed at the Dark-Lucario. Hessen hid around the corner of the building to eavesdrop on the conversation.

The dark Lucario pointed towards the Castle, muttering something about his Kirlia-friend evolving into a Gallade or something.

Hessen continued to listen in on the conversation between the Lucarios, Kirlia, and Cain...

Kaira rubbed a paw against her nose, grumbling a little while doing so. She was beginning to get irritated with this stupid insomnia thing. Sleeping had always been her escape, so she didn't have to deal with anything, or anyone. If she couldn't sleep, what could she do? She had no friends. Her parents had left her on her own long ago. Her brother went missing. She was all by herself.

She gave a sigh and sat up. Trying to sleep was useless, and had been useless for a while now. The flame on her back was going down, which was bad considering it had been smaller to begin with. She shook her head, clearing out the sleep that had tried, and failed, to claim her many times. She trotted out of her home and out onto the streets.

She walked around for a while, yawning every few minutes. No matter how tired she got, her insomnia would keep her up. She hated not being able to sleep. She couldn't escape her world, and she couldn't help but think of things. She thought of how odd she was, compared to the other Cyndaquils back in her original home town. She didn't have blue fur up top, but instead it was bright orange. Her flame was smaller than everyone else's. And she was sarcastic. It wasn't in a Cyndaquil's nature to be sarcastic. Especially not in the ones she knew. She'd thought about Darkrai, about how it was his fault she couldn't sleep. But she wanted to know why.

Kaira was so lost in thought, that she didn't notice where she was going. She looked around for a minute, trying to figure out how far she'd gone from her home. As she did this though, she bumped into something. She stepped back, rubbing her paws on her, now sore, nose. She whimpered and looked up to see what, or who, she'd run into.

Whoops. she thought to herself. She'd run straight into a Lucario. Uh-oh.

(OOC: sorry its so short!)

"Wait!! Mew knows every move, I mean EVERY move! If we run into her she could teach you whatever moves you liked!!!"

"But we haven't seen her since we moved..."

Silver was right, maybe Mew could help...but where was she? They hadn't seen her in years, where was her whereabouts? Unknown, it was almost impossible to find her now. If there was a better, easier, faster way....Lucifer looked at Darkrai's Castle, somehow he thought that all solutions and problems were related to the glowing, sinister-looking castle far away.

Lucifer's ears twitched as his Lucario instincts told him that more and more people were nearby, watching them. He looked at the ground with extreme focus and started to scan the area for auras. Indeed, more and more people were in the plaza area, most of them were heading towards his direction. Friends or Foes? He couldn't tell, especially when he was this tired.

People were watching so he must act proper and serious. If people saw him playing with his little brother like they did a while ago, people were going to think that they were some kind of lab rejects with horribly low IQ.

"Learning a move that you can't," Lucifer turned to Xandra, "Is basically impossible right now. But let's hope the owner of the castle can give us something we want."

Lucifer was about to say something more about the Castle, but something warm bumped against him, then the thing bounced backwards again. Curious he turned and saw an oddly-coloured Cyndaquil.

When did she get here? Lucifer blinked, She was 20 yards away when I scanned. Oh well, talking probably canceled my aura scan.

Lucifer rolled his eyes, people happen to bump into him every time so he wasn't very angry this time. He wasn't going to fight or hit her, so he just growled and turned back, ignoring her presence.

Kaira stood on her back legs, crossing her arms. "Well sorry mister. Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the Pokeball this morning." she grumbled. There was her sarcastic nature again. Even though she was naturally timid, that only seemed to come into play when a battle was at hand. Any other time she acted as she had just a moment ago.

She'd never met a Lucario before, and her first impression of one wasn't very good. "Gee, I hope all Lucario's aren't as rude as you are. I'd feel bad for your kind." there she went again. She wasn't good at controlling her sarcasm, it just kind of slipped out. She stuck her nose up and huffed some smoke out, directed at the Lucario.

It wasn't a full on Smoke Screen, just a little bit of smoke to show her agitation. She huffed and turned her head away. "Be mean to me, why don't you. Next time I'll shoot a flamethrower at you." she mumbled.
