    Do you think evolutions will be different this game? Contains trade evolution Pokemon like Abra. Set this game up as before humans and Pokemon were friends. Makes less sense to have trades in the game.

    Similarly, what about held item evolutions? Glanced at the pasture screen. Displays no obvious spot for held items. Could have cut that to simplify the Pokemon battling system, much like Let's Go. How do you think Pokemon like Onix and Sneasel will evolve?

    Absolutely hope they are changed. :( Trade evolutions (items included) are not something I think we really need anymore; they didn't age too well imo. So I'm hoping they will be removed and instead be obtainable via level-up or some kind of usable item you find in the game. Or maybe a location can exist somewhere in the world (like a cave with a magical power) to evolve trade evolution Pokémon once a day or something? That actually sounds pretty cool and something I can see happening.

    It's Gamefreak, I have low hopes for that happening. Fan games and ROM Hacks do a better job adding a trade center or whatever for pokemon who could only evolve via trading etc.
     
    I really hope we get special evolution locations again! Those were always fun and I have fond memories of searching for the moss rock in Diamond as a kid. I don't really have opinions on other evolutions, trades will probably stay but at least most Pokemon that evolve via trading are ugly and I wouldn't want them anyways (sorry Porygon and Politoed I don't mean you ;_;)
     
    I'd like to see more special methods for evolutions that are tied to the world itself. Pokemon having to be in specific areas, maybe some need exposure to specific overworld items, etc. They could even drop some hints by lore being told by NPCs or books or whatever.

    And given that you need to pay for a service to even use the online features of these games it just really makes trade evolutions a lot more questionable.
     
    Much like Sword and Shield, trade evolutions are probably going to be thrown out the window along with many special evolution methods, especially since so many evolved pokemon could be caught in the wild in Let's Go and Sword and Shield.

    I would like to see locational evolutions though. As well as more unique ways to evolve pokemon. I just hope it isn't another 3 crits in a single battle type thing like it was with Sirfetch'd as much as I love that pokemon.

    I will say I hope it is easier to understand though. It took me forever to find the right arc and figure out how to evolve Galarian Yamask

    I think trade evos will be gone for this game. If trade evolution mons are present in the game, they will probably evolve from another (and ancient) method
     
    Hopefully trade evos are gone, or they'll at least introduce an alternate way of evolving them. It was always a big pain to get those evolutions if you don't have friends who play or didn't buy multiple versions, plus now I think trading online requires a paid subscription which is just scummy imo.
     
    There is only on version, so probably there will be no trade evolutions
    pokemon like abra and geodude will have to find another way to evolve
    trade evolutions are nice, but at the same time they are a pain, so, particularly, i don't mind if they are gone
