Yes! All these events deserve to have more time for people to participate in. I for one want to extend it. C:

One whole week? That'll depend on the event. Some events will end up with severe management issues, while others will benefit from the extra time because there'll be more time for submissions.

I think activity-based events might suffer from it, while submission-based events might benefit from it.

Anyway... For my events (Pokédex 3DSnap and anime captions), we would end up with a significant benefit due to the way stuff is run in these events. As for others, though... we need people talking about this.

Did I just see an Emolga in your post?

    ...

But yeah, I think it's a good idea tbh. Since yeah, two of mine are based day-by-day, so it'd sorta allow the people on the second day (aka if they don't have enough time) to get like 2 extra days submission which'd be totally useful for them. :x Also omg 7-day egg swap. XD

SO YES ALL FOR IT. And also for the poor inactive events that need more entries. :(

Um, maybe a bit of compromise could be used here - for some events that depend on timing, let them go with the usual 4-day schedule?

Do it, it will benefit a lot of events, and make others all the more exciting (like Challenge Royale and Egg Swap and the race for the most amount of points). I for one have gotten zero entries for my Pokemon Song Parody, so letting people have more time to work on their submissions would not only help me, but a lot of other struggling events as well. It also gives more variety (and a harder time on the judges) in submissions :3

Are the Core Events (The skype event, the IRC event) also be extended as well? Or just competitions? I don't think I can host all the way to Day 7.

After day five, all events without an [extended] in their title get locked!
Five days because an extra day for results and discussion won't hurt.
Who's with me on this one?

I'm not sure about that. Event organizers should get their chance to determine whether their event need the extra time. Also, results and discussion... One day isn't enough. There should be a period after the GT8 ends for judging, results and final discussions.

As for me? Extra time all the way for me!

Same as Tomandgreen in that I only have enough stuff planned for Days 1-4 for the PCPCPQ. I could spread what stuff I have out, I guess... so I'm OK with it potentially.

Aww, was sorta hoping Skype could run longer. So much fun! Haha and my parents won't be home for majority of the time for the extra days so I can actually talk

As for iSketch I might use the time for the games the I've missed but it might not go for the whole extra 3 days

I think it would be great for the community for it to get three extra days, provided that the event organisers can handle it. So I think I am going with it.

I wonder how the "cold" events will fare this time around? Maybe they will get the chance to stand out after all the activity on the hotter events.

I support this idea, only if some events are allowed to be closed, seeing as they were already planned for only 4 days. But seeing as you already said that, I'm fine with it.

I'd agree with this. I do think that 4 days is too short for the Get-Together, especially considering the insane amount of events happening. I do agree that it should be optional for a event to run into the extra time.
