Edit: I kind of wanted to explain why I love/hate the labeled pokemon, mostly for fun. All the pokemon I posted here (except for the ones in parentheses) I enjoy a lot, so I might as well explain why I enjoy them so much.

Grass: Jumpluff (Simisage)

I like cute pokemon in general. It's probably one of the most un-manly things you could probably learn about me, I enjoy cute things. I'm not annoying about it, but when it comes to animals and pokemon, I will always choose the adorable one first. I liked Jumpluff back in my old "Gold Version", It was near impossible to train, and it's move pool was lacking but I stuck by it and it stayed on my main team all the way through most of the game's main challenges, but I had to keep a boxed flyer to replace it. When the fourth generation of games came out (DPPt), they perfected Jumpluff. They added "Bounce" to Jumpluff's movepool. Although "Fly" would have been more powerful and useful in general, it did not matter. "Bounce was exactly what Jumpluff needed to step over that boundary that kept it as only being cute, and made it into a lethal competitive pokemon for me that was still adorable. Whenever I build a new pokemon team, Jumpluff is always one of the first candidates to take the grass type slot on my team. There are other plant types I like a lot, but my love for Jumpluff really does stem as far back as the second generation, thus it will always have a special place in my heart.

Simisage... you're a grass monkey... that represents a cooking spice. You don't really stand out in movepool, stats, or visual design. I honestly don't like any of the starter monkey counterparts from the fifth generation. I don't like this pokemon, nor care for it, so I don't have much to say about it.

Fire: Magmar (Simisear)

Magmar has been the go to pseudo-legendary fire pokemon of the first generation for me. Sure Arcanine has always been the true pseudo-legendary fire type of the first generation, but something about Magmar has always been more interesting, fun, and useful to me. Maybe it's his access to "Psychic" and "Confuseray" in his movepool. Maybe it's his awesomely monstrous design. What is he? Well he appears to be a human shaped duck on fire. Good enough for me, that's a winner in my monster design book. His stats are really high and also allow him to have an incredibly high base attack and special attack, he can sweep for both attack types, and his speed has always been relatively high on its own. He's fun to play with, and equally entertaining to look at. I always loved his protruding ball shaped eyebrows that had flames emanating from them as well as his duck bill. Why does he have a duck bill, the better question is probably, why wouldn't he have one?

Simisear. I'd rather not restate all the same things I said about "Simisage", so lets just put it this way... anything Simisear can do, "Infernape" can do better.

Water: Gorebyss (Alomaloa)

Gorebyss, the pinnacle of all water pokemon. Yes, there will never be a water pokemon that is better than Gorebyss in my eyes. Water pokemon are generally my favorite type of pokemon in general. The first seriously competitive team I had ever built was a "Rain Dance" team and Gorebyss was the MVP of the whole team. There is nothing Gorebyss can not do as a water type pokemon. My original build of this pokemon back in the third generation was "Surf", "Icebeam", "Iron Defense", and "Baton Pass". This movepool for Gorebyss is absolutely monstrous, even it does not appear frightening right away, within a proper raindance team, this move set is just ridiculous. It creates possibly one of the most wonderful hard to kill support sweepers that I have ever held witness too. It's just one of those few pokemon that can do it all. Need a clean water sweep? Use Gorebyss. Need a solid wall pokemon to stall for you? Use Gorebyss. Need a supportive baton passing pokemon to beef up your glass cannon? Use Gorebyss. Gorebyss's utility is just positively astounding. Then when the fifth generation came out, they did something ludicrous for Gorebyss... they invented "Shell Smash". Wow. So they took my favorite water pokemon... and made it 100x more powerful. Awesome. By the way I forgot to mention the sheer power of "Swift Swim"... I mean seriously, can Gorebyss possibly be any more powerful (If any of you mention it should get a "Mega Evolution", I might have to hurt somebody...)? So ignoring Gorebyss's superior presence as possibly the perfect water pokemon in meta play, this pokemon is possibly one of the most beautifully designed pokemon that I have ever seen. It's bright pink, which is awesome because pink is the manliest color ever, and it's shiny form is a gold yellow color, which is perfect because yellow is my favorite color (it's almost like this pokemon was built for me lol). It's an eel like dolphin pokemon so it has this beautiful sleek design, it's often depicted as being so beautiful that it is mistaken as a mermaid, which is always good, attractive pokemon that trick humans into liking them are awesome. The true genius behind this pokemons design though is its background information and history. Gorebyss despite its beauty and elegance, is a savage and beastly creature that hunts down other pokemon prey, stabs them with its sharp needle like nose, and then drains its prey of its bodily fluids. Wow, what a savage pokemon, this pokemon is just a symbol of pure badassery. Gorebyss: Incredibly useful, powerful, beautiful, and interesting. It's quite seriously a five star pokemon. I have yet to find another water pokemon that even compares to the pure perfection of what Gorebyss is, let alone another single pokemon in general. Sure other pokemon have very specific niches... but Gorebyss does it all. That's why it is my favorite pokemon in general, let alone my favorite water pokemon.

Alomaloa... Why? Why are you not the evolved form of "Luvdisc"? I actually like "Luvdisc" more than I like Alomaloa. It's such an ugly looking fish and pokemon design in general. It's not very useful at anything. Sometimes I forget that this pokemon exists. I actually had to look up Alomaloa on Serebii, because I knew what it looked like in my head but could not remember its name, I'll probably forget it's name again later on...

Electric: Electrode (Manectric)

Electrode is the original electric speedster bad ass. The original turn one T-Wave. He's probably one of the most well designed, "poor design" pokemon, he's an upside down pokeball with a huge smug smile on his face. I always imagine whenever I see an Electrode that he's saying, "I'm a giant ball! Come at me bro!" His incredibly simple design has always made him appealing, the lack of creativity in his design just makes him more entertaining to use in my opinion. Plus with his usefulness for tactical swapping for turn one T-Waves, opponents become intimidated and annoyed by his presence. I in general am not a huge fan of the Electric type, but whenever I really need an electric type for a particular team, nine times out of ten I will go for Electrode. Also when I was very little, I used to play "Pokemon Snap" on the "Nintendo 64", and for some reason the level where you would go to the Electric cave, my favorite part was always seeing the Electrode rolling around minding its own business until it explodes when you bother it. I just always thought the idea of a wild Electrode getting around by just rolling at high speeds and the fact that it didn't care about rolling on its face all the time, always just seemed really hilarious to me.

Manectric:

Manectric, you always made me upset. I always thought you looked so cool, and I tried so hard multiple times back in RSE, to make you useful in my teams. You always fainted, and you barely made any progress towards any kind of goals within my team. I always thought your Monkey-Dog design was interesting... but you're just not good at anything. Anything you can do, other Electric pokemon do better. I'm not joking when I say I tried really hard to like you back in the third generation, but you just never really stuck out as an electric type, nothing made you unique or even particularly useful.

Normal: Furret (Ambipom)

I got two words for you. Pink. Furret.
What, that's not enough? Fine. So Furret is probably one of the only two stage normal typed beginner pokemon within all of the generations that has the most absolutely diverse and unique move pools. Besides this pokemon's adorable design, it's extremely useful and has a collection of absolutely nifty tricks up its sleeves. It's one of the very few pokemon that have access to both "Me First" and "Assist" and it's probably one of the only pokemon that can use these moves to their full potential. It can also "Baton Pass" like a champ. Although it's base stats are fairly low, it's diverse and fun move pool excuses it to be worked around in other ways. It's a very scary pokemon to play against in a team that is designed for "Baton Pass" shenanigans, which I know of because I used to have an all "Normal" team that focused on "Baton Pass" tricks, with "Furret" being the mascot and the trickiest to deal with. Did I mention how adorable Furret is? Seriously. You know what's worse than losing in a pokemon battle? Losing to pokemon that are adorable. The last thing you remember from losing in that battle was that adorable fluffy pink furret staring at you with those cute little beady eyes. It will haunt you in your dreams.

Ambipom:

Ambipom, why are you so ugly? You're like that super cute baby that grows into an ugly and creepy adult. Yeah I guess your useful... and I mean I guess "Mr. Mime" will always win first place in the Creeper Pokemon contest, but at least the creepiness of "Mr. Mime" is actually funny... for Ambipom... he's just plain creepy and not in a fun way. I will say that at least Ambipom is useful in battling, somewhat. However, no amount of battle usefulness will ever change the fact that I always thought the fingers on your tails should be censored... It's too bad too, I mean I always thought Aipom had a lot of potential as a pokemon that might evolve into something cool looking and powerful... well at least they got the powerful part right.

Fighting: Breloom (Conkledurr)

You want a spontaneous pokemon with an interestingly diverse movepool that allows a pokemon to be threatening in multiple ways and thus is considered to be unpredictable and frightening? Breloom is that pokemon. Breloom has a very useful and diverse selection of moves at it's disposal that can allow it to sweep for Fight and Grass type, it can play offensive support, and it can do an interesting style of stalling that I would almost describe as completely unique to this pokemon. What makes this pokemon a true gem though? Breloom is practically the only pokemon that can naturally learn "Spore". The 100% accuracy sleep status move that is instantaneous. Any pokemon with access to "Spore" should be immediately considered a threat. Sometimes just being feared fro having "Spore" is what makes this pokemon so powerful. Some of the most interesting battles I've seen involving a Breloom, is a Breloom that does not use "Spore" within it's move pool but the person fighting against the Breloom in question is constantly afraid of being victim to "Spore". Besides the power of that status move, knowing that it is a possible move that the pokemon might have, strikes fear into opponents, it's like the possibility of that move existing prevents players from doing certain attacks or playing certain pokemon. Just the idea of a Breloom possibly having "Spore" is an attack all on it's own, an attack on the opponents mind. Other than that, Breloom is still a fantastic pokemon, using the best tools that a Fighting type or Grass type could possibly have access to makes it a huge threat, with the two key moves of this pokemon's frightening power being "Leech Seed" and "Mach Punch". Breloom is generally a pokemon that people should always fear going against because it is in general such an unpredictable pokemon with many different builds at its disposal. I also have always enjoyed the design of Breloom, it has always been a perfect fit as a tropical mushroom pokemon native to Hoenn. It's colors are bright and vibrant, and the ideal of it's limbs being powerful and stretchy have always given this pokemon a fun and interesting individual pokemon presence.

Conkledurr:

Conkledurr, I don't know which is worse, your design, your name, or your attempt to replace "Machamp". That's three strikes and your out in my book. Seriously Conkledurr, thinking of all the things that is wrong with you as a pokemon honestly just frustrates me. Conkledurr, you are bad, and whoever invented you should feel bad. That's all I can really say.

Ice: Jynx (Beartic)

The best Ice pokemon? Easily Jynx. There will never be another pokemon like Jynx. Incredibly powerful pokemon that should be used more often. Jynx the dragon slayer, Jynx the psychic sweeper. I loved you for making Dragonite look like the pathetic pokemon that it is. This pokemon is so aggressive and fast, Jynx is just such a huge threat, some people just fold under the pressure of having to deal with one of these scary little ladies. The design for Jynx is so unique and in my opinion beautiful, I know there are a ton of people who would completely disagree with me, but I always liked Jynx's design. It just appears to me to be a mysterious beauty of a pokemon, and it's human shape makes it interesting and mysterious. Honestly Jynx is as beautiful of a pokemon design as Gardevoir is, if not better in my opinion. I have always secretly hoped that Jynx would one day get an evolution that would capitalize on its beauty, maybe to give it a background of deceiving humans or something interesting like that. Jynx will probably always be my go to Ice pokemon whenever I really need one, no others can really compare to it in my opinion.

Beartic:

Beartic is really not all that bad of a pokemon, it's just my least favorite Ice type. I do give it credit for being a Polar Bear which is pretty neat... but it's not all that special nor unique of a pokemon, and it's not all that powerful either. It's mostly just your standard pure Ice type with all the stereotypical Ice move pool. Not really all that fun of pokemon to mess around with.

Psychic: Slowbro (Hypno)

Slowbro why are you so scary? Why is it impossible to kill you? Why do you seem to sweep everything all of the time? Why can I put you in front of large numbers of Grass pokemon and you just refuse to die? Why is your overall design as a pokemon so creative and fun? ...Oh it's because you're pure awesome? Okay now I understand why. The answer is because Slowbro is awesome, deal with it.
Slowbro is the "Bro" pokemon, therefore he's just naturally one of the best. "Slowking" might be a king... but is he a bro? No? Therefore "Slowking" is not as good, because it's always better to have a bro on your side rather than a king. Bro's will always back you up, but King's always expect you to back them up. Slowbro just does what he feels like, he doesn't care about anything. He doesn't care about Grass pokemon or Dark Pokemon, he just does whatever a bro does. I could go on and on about all the specific reasons as to why Slowbro is so powerful and good to use, but I feel like that explaining that he's a bro is more than a good enough reason.

Hypno:

Hypno, you are creepy, annoying and not very useful. So many psychic pokemon do what you do better. I've never liked you, even when I was a little guy playing my "Red Version". Your stats are extremely low in general, you look like a creepy "Freud"-like psychiatrist and your overall move pool is based on the idea of putting pokemon to sleep with which you try to accomplish mainly by using "Hypnosis" which is ironically the worst of all the sleep inducing moves. I have a friend who thinks "Hypno" is one of the best Psychic pokemon, I've always been able to defeat his Hypno before, so I've never understood his attraction to Hypno. Maybe he likes the design? Maybe he likes underdog pokemon (I'll admit a lot of my favorite pokemon are underdogs), but Hypno has always been annoying to me and he's not even all that great to use let alone look at.

Dark: Umbreon (Greninja)

Umbreon is probably my favorite Dark Pokemon, and I know that Umbreon is a pretty popular Dark pokemon in general. I also hear a lot of people talk about how Umbreon is an overhyped pokemon, like it doesn't deserve its popularity. I seriously think it's a great pokemon. It's the original and pretty much only Dark Stall pokemon. Now in my opinion, Umbreon is a very niche pokemon. So I can understand how it's possible that people might think Umbreon is not very good because it is not a Dark Sweeper. If you're looking for a Dark type pokemon that is going to sweep the field with Dark moves, then Umbreon is not the pokemon for you. Umbreon is that pokemon that you throw in front of obstacles that you have no type advantage against, or the pokemon you throw in front of the most threatening pokemon on the opposing team. Umbreon is the pokemon that you throw under the bus, and then the bus hits it and a terrible catastrophic bus crash occurs with the only survivor being Umbreon. Umbreon is the Immovable Object. If you are not capitalizing on this aspect of Umbreon, you're probably not going to enjoy using Umbreon very much. Umbreon is probably well known as being the most efficient "Curse" and "Baton Pass" pokemon out there, but it can do other extremely entertaining stall and support moves that can make having an Umbreon in your team feel like you have a chance to rest, breathe, and think, because once Umbreon is on the field, he's not going anywhere for a while. Umbreon is awesome to hide behind for a few turns, and that is truly what makes it one of the best Dark types out there and makes it my favorite Dark type.
Oh... and have you seen how sleek and bad ass his design is? I think most of the fanbase for Umbreon comes from the fact that Umbreon is just really cool looking and no other pokemon looks like it. Though still, my favoritism towards Umbreon stems from the fact that I feel so safe when I have one out, and no other pokemon I've ever played has ever given me the same sense of safety as Umbreon does.

Greninja:

Greninja is a poser. It's trying to take the Ninja title away from "Ninjask", and does so disgracefully. It doesn't feel like a Ninja pokemon, in fact if anything, it feels slow considering what I'm used to with the real Ninja pokemon "Ninjask". I will admit that it is kind of cool that it can learn "Substitute" naturally, but other than that, it's just a glass cannon sweeper that moves kind of fast. It looks kind of cool I guess, but everything else about Greninja just seems like hype, because there are a lot of great water and dark pokemon that can do what Greninja does. Honestly I think "Sharpedo" can do what Greninja does, and can do it better ("Speed Boost").

Bug: Ninjask (Leavanny)

Ninjask, you are the one and only "Ninja" pokemon and don't let anyone tell you differently. No pokemon can do what you can do, especially not "Greninja". Ninjas are the scouts, they're not supposed to engage in combat although they can if they have to. Ninjas are about stealth and evasiveness, and Ninjask, you are the only pokemon I know of who can do exactly that. Ninjask is my favorite bug pokmeon and pretty much the only bug pokemon I ever enjoy actually using. Ninjask is an incredibly niche support pokemon, it's honestly not good for much of anything else, but what it is capable of doing, well no other pokemon does it better. All you need to know to play Ninjask correctly, is knowing that it learns both "Swords Dance" and "Baton Pass" naturally. I center entire teams around Ninjask being able to use these two moves together and the "Speed Boost" ability is the icing on the cake. Ninjask is the fastest pokemon (Ignoring Deoxys S), highest base speed, end of story. Nothing can move faster than Ninjask naturally, not even that poser "Greninja", then they stack on "Speed Boost", yeah nothing can keep up with Ninjask. It's design is amazing, I mean I always thought that Ninjask looked like a blinged up Shinobi. I don't know maybe it's all the yellow trimming, yellow is my favorite color, but seriously, it's such an awesome looking pokemon and still looks like an actual bug.

Leavanny:

Leavanny, I just feel like was an all around unnecessary pokemon. I mean it's high attack stat was kind of cool and access to high powered grass and bug attacks is really kind of neat as well, but it's generally all around weak. Plus it faints incredibly easily to Fire, which is the on of the most common sweeper choices. I'm also extremely not interested in its design as a pokemon. I always thought a praying mantis pokemon would be a really cool design to add as a pokemon, but from some reason Leavanny's design didn't really appeal to me. I seriously do think it is an ugly pokemon. I for some reason always felt like a mantis pokemon would be more colorful looking and maybe Bug/Fight type rather than Bug/Grass. It's mostly Leavanny's design that made me not like it very much.

Dragon: Shelgon (Dragonite)

Shelgon has a certain charm to it that I've never quite understood. I like the Dragon type, most people do, however for me, despite liking the type, I hate most of the Dragon pokemon we have. Dragon to me is like the Flying type, we need more solid typed Dragons and less type mixing. I feel the same way about Flying, give me more pure Flying types. With this preference of solo typing, I'm obviously a large fan of the "Haxorus" family, however it did not win my favorite spot because it never had the impact on me that Shelgon had back in the third generation of games. Shelgon was the pokemon that mad me realize all of the raw potential and power that a solid dragon type had. Yes, I know that Dratini and Dragonair had the same type of potential, but in the games previous to generation 3, you didn't have access to all the Dragon attacks that RSE had access to. The whole combination of solid Dragon type, plus the larger range of attacks, plus the lack of people who could deal with defeating Dragons, it just all came together perfectly with Shelgon. Shelgon's stats are relatively high, and his move pool is really nice. I was honestly pretty sad when my Shelgon finally evolved into "Salamence" and i found out he now had the weaknesses of Flying type, making him relatively weaker in my eyes. I have actually used a permanent Shelgon in an old team of mine, and he honestly did great as a solid Dragon type pokemon at the time, made him very hard to deal with. However when "Haxorus" came out, Shelgon has been outclassed in power, but he will always be the first real solid Dragon in my eyes. Plus I like his melon like shape it's quite unique and his hidden face makes him look intimidating and mysterious. I had a shiny one once that I called "Watermelon" because of the light green color, that was a really cool Shelgon... bad natured though.

Dragonite:

So my hatred for Dragonite burns with the power of a billion suns. I hate Dragonite, because it is the go to Dragon of doom. It is a pokemon that is used by such a large amount of people because it is just simply one of the most powerful and useful pokemon ever made. Dragonites are easy to understand and can be dealt with, but they are incredibly hard to actually defeat, and they will put you though all sorts of hellish punishmnet while trying to get rid of them. They have the stats of Pseudo-Legendary pokemon and they have the movepool and ability to support it as well. A diverse movepool for status inflicting as well as sweeping the board of most threats it would come against, and the ability of having "Multiscale" is just pure evil. It often feels like the Legendary that is not really a Legendary, either that or it just feels like out right cheating. People used to tell me, "Well if you don't like fighting against it, then just use it, carry a Dragonite to kill a Dragonite." That is completely stupid, that's like the idea of building a pokemon so good that it rules metaplay and can only be dealt with by using one, yeah that sounds really diverse there, play with a Dragonite or lose to someone who uses a Dragonite. There are other games (mostly card games) that have situations where a particular character or skill in the game can be designed to be so insanely powerful, that it's only counter-move is to use the exact same character or skill, eventually all the most powerful teams all play the same character or skill because it can only be defeated by itself. Do you know what happens to characters and skills in games like that? They get banned. Why? Because things like that prevent diversity of trying varying play types in order to win, and instead support single minded team design and game play. Why come up with a creative team design when I could just aim all support towards my Dragonite and just destroy everything you throw at me no matter what type it is? So yes, I hate Dragonite because of it what it represents in the overall regular and meta gameplay. Go away Dragonite, I hate you.

Poison: Swalot (Skuntank)

Swalot is very colorful and has a mustache. If that doesn't make you like it... then I honestly don't know what will. Seriously, I'll admit that I mostly like Swalot because of it's appearance and not much else. I've always wanted to create a proper competitive build for a Swalot but I have yet to pull it off. I've tried using it as a toxic stall pokemon with varying results, but nothing I would try to take online. Still though, I've always enjoyed this pokemon in the regular games, and it's just so colorful and unique that I can't help but enjoy having it around.

Skuntank:

Skuntank is just annoying and I don't like using it. I mean it's a pretty powerful pokemon, and it doesn't really have a bad design or anything like that, i just really do not like it. I don't like using it and I don't like fighting against it. Purely biased with not much reason to support my dislike for it. There are not many Poison pokemon that I don't like, but for some reason Skuntank has always really irked me as a pokemon. I might be unreasonable with this, but it is my go to least favorite poison pokemon.

Mawile is sort of a tragedy to me. I've always really liked Mawile. I had a pretty fun build for a Mawile based on the solid Steel typed Mawile, I had a move pool with "Stockpile", "Swallow", "Iron Head", and "Baton Pass". It was a really cool build and was often really useful. He was mainly a support with Steel STAB, and he was good at it. I really enjoyed Mawile because it was one of the best looking solid Steel type pokmeon that had all of the advantages of being solid steel and no dual typed draw backs and because of this, it was such a good support pokemon, very hard to get rid of. Now it's a fairy pokemon, I'm probably just overreacting but it becoming Fairy type sort of ruined the originality of the pokemon for me. I might just be Pokemon hipster, but I just really liked the idea of Mawile being one of the only solid Steel typed pokemon. I just prefer solid typings a lot, it allows you to better understand the usefulness of each typing better, and it's hard to do that in the game when almost every pokemon seems to be dual typed lately. I know the Fairy typing didn't really hinder how Mawile plays, but it just changed Mawile into something it never was before, the difference is so drastic that it makes me uncomfortable.

I've never liked Klinklang. Despite it's solid typing (Does that make me a hypocrite?), it's just way too good, and can't be matched because it is the best and now officially, the only solid Steel typed pokemon. I've always thought it was ugly as well, I don't think it's a pokemon with a bad design, I just think it's ugly. I'm tired of looking at it, especially when it is commonly a popular pick because of its type and its diverse move pool. I hate having to beat them and I hate looking at them while in the process. They also move way too much in their animation which to me makes them an eyesore to look at.

Fairy: Clefairy (Slurpuff)

Clefairy just is the Fairy pokemon. All the history and background information that we know about Clefairy make it the Fairy pokemon that existed before Fairy was even a type. I have to give it mad respect, since Clefairy knew there would be a Fairy type before "Game Freak" knew there would be a Fairy type. Even before the Fairy type, Clefairy and Clefable, both felt like Fairies when you played them in the past. All of their attacks and status moves felt like things that a fairy would probably do, and even now it still feels like the most fairy-like of all the Fairy typed pokemon we have now. Always thought Clefairy was cool, and I probably always will.

So... Slurpuff... is it supposed to be a pokemon made out of cake? I don't really quite get it. I mean I understood
the whole "Vanilluxe" is a pokemon that looks like an icecream cone but is not actually an icecream cone because it's made out of solid ice, but when I try to understand Slurpuff, I'm at a loss. I mean are you a cake that became a pokemon or a pokemon that became a cake? Same goes for your preevolution, are you a pokemon that became cotton candy, or a cotton candy that became a pokemon? Then what about the evolution? When does Cotton Candy turn into a Meringue Cake? Can I eat you? Do you taste good? So many questions and so little answers. I like the idea of eating this pokemon, but not so much in using it or having it around.

Rock: Cradily (Gigalith)

You want to see a seriously amazing and near impossible to get rid of stall pokemon? Have you ever messed around with the bright and colorful Cradilly? It's fun to play with if you like stalling, which I often do (depending on the team, I almost always have two stalling pokemon). It has access to "Recover", which is incredibly useful and very rare for a lot of pokemon who specialize in stalling. It quickly becomes quite an obstacle for your opponents and it's much prettier than a "Venasaur", or so I think. It's probably my favorite of all of the fossil pokemon. Plus it's a very colorful and exciting looking pokemon which makes me like it all the more. It really does have that tropical sea anemone appearance to it which is awesome and makes it look incredibly unique compared to just about every other kind Grass and Rock type pokemon out there.

Gigalith:

Gigalith, I don't really like this pokemon despite being a very useful and solid Rock type. I hate grinding against his second stage evolution, they always have "Sturdy" so all of your single hit attacks are going to have to strike twice if you expect to get rid of this guy. I also always thought they were trying to use this guy to replace the "Golem" family, sort of like what they did with "Conkledurr". I don't like it when another new pokemon tries to overshadow an older pokemon in design, stats, and movepool, and Gigalith is definitely trying to do that, so he's kind of a jerk in my eyes for that, so I just avoid and ignore him.

Ground: Quagsire (Garchomp)

Quagsire is just pure goodness, definitely the best Ground type in my opinion. He's such a great sweeper with a fairly diverse movepool and a potential water immunity, so you can easily drop him in on a predicted water attack which is always really fun. It's incredibly aggressive play style plus its two immunities make it a top pick and a lot more powerful than you would first expect. It's an incredibly fun pokemon to beef up with supportive pokemon and if you can speed it up really easily, it's often an incredible challenge to take a Speedy Quagsire down. The overall design of this pokemon is simplistic yet perfect. I always liked being able to look at Quagsire and just immediately know what it is supposed to be, yet it's still a fantastic looking pokemon, like a real monster. It's fun and interesting to play with, and when set up right, it can be unstoppable force of pokemon destruction. You can even tell how powerful it is by its simple and innocent face.

Garchomp:

I like Garchomp in concept, but not so much in design and build. The idea of a "Land Shark" was a seriously cool idea to attempt when designing a pokemon, but I just don't think Garchomp really did it for me. It's obviously a stupid powerful pokemon to the point of more or less being annoying. Definitely a well known sweeper that is greatly feared, especially in "Sand Storms", but I just don't like the way the pokemon was designed by appearance or playability. It's just never felt like a shark on land to me, and the believability of Garchomp not feeling like a shark on land is what really made me not like the pokemon. Yeah sure, it feels like a Dragon that plays in the dirt, but it's just not very shark like, nor does it ever seem like it is really traveling below ground. Garchomp has just never seemed right to me in this aspect.

Ghost: Gengar (Mismagius)

Gengar is just the most memorable and one of the most powerful Ghosts around. When I think of a ghost pokemon in general, my mind hops immediately to Gengar. It's pretty much one of the original powerhouse pokemon dating all the way back to the first pokemon games, and it has kept that title after all these years. It is still the incredibly scary powerhouse pokemon it was in the past and has even now been designed to be way more powerful and intimidating (Seriously Game Freak, was "Mega Gengar" really necessary?) than it ever has been before. This pokemon will live on through the ravages of time within the pokemon world as the go to super powered Ghost pokemon. Super beefy, great sweeper, and stupid fast. What else do you want more in an aggressive Ghost pokemon? Plus it's original design is just so classic, simple, and perfect. It's a shadow, probably Clefable's shadow. So it's dark purple, and it's got that permanent Joker's smile on it's face and blood red eyes. If you're staring into the eyes of this scary pokemon, you might as well just give up your mortal soul to it and just walk away. Definitely my favorite, and in the days of playing "Pokemon Stadium" it was my first choice of pokemon to build my entire team around.

Mismagius:

I've never been all that wild about Mismagius. I always thought that it was way too different from "Misdreavus" to be the actual evolution of it. It just seems off in body shape, and it's overall theme seems completely different from what "Misdreavus" was supposed to represent as a Ghost pokemon. The whole witch design is not really doing much for me, plus the actual evolution did not really ad much to the pokemon other than slightly higher base stats. It didn't really change the movepool all that much. I've never really been interested in trying to play with Mismagius, despite how much I liked "Misdreavus" back in the second generation, but I think I mostly liked "Misdreavus" in the past because it was at the time the only solid Ghost type pokemon.

Flying: Crobat (Swellow)

Crobat has been awesome since I first started using it back in the second generation. I know a lot of people hate "Zubat", but I always loved the "Zubat" family. "Golbat" was my favorite flying type back in the first generation of games, plus the whole sticking its tongue out always made him look awesome to me, never mess around with a pokemon that sticks its tongue out at you (Yes, "Likitung" is a bad ass, don't mess with him). So when they introduced Crobat in the second generation, I knew that I had to catch a "Zubat" as soon as possible within, the game, which obviously was not that hard. Two steps in any cave and you're set. Crobat is so crazy fast, I mean sure he ain't no "Ninjask" but damn he can outspeed so many pokemon. He makes out to be one of the most incredibly fast turn one "Taunt" or "Confuseray" users, which just by itself makes this pokemon a must have. Plus he's probably almost always been the most useful of all of the Poison types, his Flying type really does do him a whole lot of justice, such as being immune to Ground attacks. He's a great sweeping pokemon as well, possibly one of the most efficient poison sweepers, which are generally hard to come by, or are otherwise not very useful simply from being solid typing. Crobat has always been a pokemon that can handle itself really well with not very much effort. On top of that, it's got a great design and looks incredibly bat like, the whole four winged design it has is so awesome and makes the fact that Crobat is so incredibly fast make sense. Plus, this might just be me, but I always feel really confident with a Crobat on my team, like having him out on the field as an opening pokemon, because he's so fast, he's really good to use to investigate the new pokemon switching in, probably because of his quick access to "Taunt" and "Confuseray". It just makes me feel less nervous when I have Crobat out in between swaps.

Swellow:

Swellow is probably the most forgettable bird pokemon I have ever seen. Nothing stands out about Swellow, it's movepool as well as its base stats can easily be outclassed by a "Pidgeot" or a "Staraptor", and it's overal design as a pokemon is not all that memorable or interesting. Just another simple Normal/Flying type with nothing impressive, if anything it completely lacks in everything that all of the other bird pokemon can do. I would never pick it, and even when I did play RSE, I always chose "Crobat" over Swellow.

BUG: Mothim (Illumise)
I love Mothim's Shiny colors, plus it's an interesting but often forgotten Pokémon. As for Illumise, I've just never cared for its humanoid design (same with Volbeat, but Volbeat's XYORAS model looks decent).

DARK: Sneasel (Malamar)
I've always thought Sneasel was pretty cool, especially since my cousin flaunted around his Neo Genesis Sneasel back in elementary school. Malamar is just ugly and awkward.

DRAGON: Dragonair (Garchomp)
If I had to choose the most beautiful Pokémon, it wouldn't be Milotic. Dragonair is just gorgeous. I've never liked Garchomp's design, but you see so many people using it. =_=

ELECTRIC: Raikou (Eelectrik)
Raikou is just cool, okay? Eelectrik is awkward.

FAIRY: Togetic (Aromatisse)
Togetic brings back nostalgic memories of playing Pokémon Silver (my first game of the series). Aromatisse is kind of scary-looking and with its leg sticking out like that, it looks like it's trying to seduce you which is just all kinds of wrong.

FIGHTING: Tyrogue (Pignite)
Tyrogue is such a cool little guy and his Shiny is amongst my favorites visually. I think it's pretty cool how tricky it was to get him in Gold and Silver compared to the other Baby Pokémon. Definitely my favorite Baby Pokémon. As for Pignite, I think it's another awkward design.

FIRE: Ho-Oh (Magmortar)
I had considered Ho-Oh my favorite Pokémon for a long time. Not only is it a phoenix (my favorite mythological creature), but I also used it to take down my cousin (who I looked up to as a "god of games" back then). It's not my favorite anymore, but it's still pretty close to the top of my list. I really like Magmar as well, but Magmortar ruined it. So much wasted potential. T_T

FLYING: Ho-Oh (Pelipper/Vullaby)
See FIRE for Ho-Oh. Just looking at Pelipper makes me feel annoyed... not sure if it's the eyes or recalling the massive amounts of them in RSE. Vullaby is an ugly, shriveled-up thing.

GHOST: Misdreavus/Froslass (Dusclops)
Misdreavus is gosh-darned adorable, but I grew attached to Froslass in Pearl, so it's hard to choose between them. Dusclops, imo, has a really dull design and is one of my least-favorite Hoenn-mon.

GRASS: Nuzleaf/Bayleef (Cacturne)
Nuzleaf looks so cool and proud, though I think the female should've had a gender difference other than a shorter leaf (if you know what I mean). Bayleef's mostly for nostalgia (Chikorita was my very first starter).

GROUND: Sandslash (Seismitoad)
Sandslash is just cool. Seismitoad is one of the most-disturbing Pokémon designs ever. Those jiggling things! D:

ICE: Froslass (Beartic)
See GHOST for Froslass. Beartic has a very odd-shaped body. I really dislike the shape of its head. A lot of wasted potential for a polar bear Pokémon, there.

NORMAL: Dunsparce (Lickilicky)
Dunsparce (specifically Shiny Dunsparce) is my favorite Pokémon of all. It's just so weird and squishy-looking. I got attached to it as a kid when I spent forever trying to evolve it into Gligar in vain. It wasn't until many years later that it became my favorite after finding a Shiny one in Pearl on Christmas. Lickitung is another one of my top-favorite Pokémon, but like Magmar, the evolution is terrible. The only good thing Lickilicky did for the line was enable Lickitung to use Eviolite.

POISON: Nidoran M (Garbodor)
Nidoran M is adorable, plus I found a Shiny one in FireRed. I'm aware that Pokémon means "Pocket Monsters," and Garbodor is one of the finest examples of a monster, but I prefer Pokémon that aren't based on exploded bags of trash.

PSYCHIC: Mew (Malamar)
Mew is so cute and mysterious. Malamar is... well, see DARK.

ROCK: Corsola (Binacle/Barbaracle)
Corsola is cute. Binacle and Barbaracle aren't.

STEEL: Jirachi (Bronzor)
I don't really like the Steel-type, but Jirachi is one of the few exceptions because it actually looks cute. Bronzor, who I considered my least-favorite Pokémon for a while, just looks stupid. It looks like it has a clown nose. :|

WATER: Wartortle (Seismitoad)
Strictly design-wise, Wartortle would have to be my favorite Pokémon. Those fuzzy ears. That fluffy tail. That blush. Those little fangs. That tough look in its eyes... When I see it, I squeal like a fangirl a little on the inside. It's just one of those designs that makes me smile. Seismitoad is one that makes me want to puke. :)

But what makes Garchomp so good is the combination of a great base 130 attack, Swords Dance, Swampert-like defenses and Yache Berry, which is the main reason 'Chomp got banned in Gen 4. After a SD boost, unless you had Weavile or something stupid such as HP Ice Gengar, it was often gg.

Not to mention his awesome Sand Veil ability which meant even 100% counters become 80% with 'Chomp in sand. You could aim all your Ice Beams at him and still lose, especially if he packs Substitute. This got Garchomp banned in BW for over a year.
