Favorite bottom screen gadget?

In the DS and 3DS era of Pokemon, the bottom screen always had a gadget or something else on it. Gen IV in Sinnoh had the Poketch, HG/SS had the Pokegear, but it wasn't on the bottom screen always. Gen V had the C-Gear, Gen VI had the PSS system, while ORAS had the dexnav/pokenav functionality, and Gen VII had the Rotom Dex.

What was your fave amongst these? I loved the Poketch, personally. It was ahead of its time.

I didn't have my DS connected to the Internet at the time of Pokemon Black and White, so I'm unsure to how good it was (Either way, they're my favourite Pokemon games).

I did think the Poketch was interesting, despite me not being a large fan of Gen 4. It literally had a calculator, I think a friendship checker, an app to see if there's an egg at the Day-Care and a coin flipper! It was kinda cool.

The PSS was very accessible, being able to see every player you've interacted with, whether such players are online, as well as random players in general. Super Training and Amie were nice additions too (although from when I last played X, a while ago, I used neither). The Pokenav was pretty useful, in that you could track what you've caught from an area without consulting the Pokedex, whilst also serving as a shiny-hunting mechanism.

Gen 7's Rotom Dex I had never used, specifically the USUM version, with the free healing items, and capture rate increases. They're useful, but I never really needed them. The Sun and Moon bottom screen was ok, it showed the next place you were required to go to which is a first in the series, and had a map of the area.

I'd say my favourite would be the ORAS bottom-screen or Poketch. I say this because ORAS combines the XY bottom screen along with a way to track caught Pokemon, and find shiny Pokemon. I like the Poketch due to all the applications it has, and in general adding a layer of convenience to the game, albeit (in some cases) unconventional ways, akin to the aforementioned coin flipper. (I'm not sure when you'd need a coin flipper in a Pokemon game, but it's something extra.)

I only played Gen IV and V out of the DS ones. If we're purely talking about the gadgets themselves I preferred the Pokétch. I think there isn't as much functionality in the C-Gear now you can't do any of the online stuff in that generation, whereas the Gen IV ones still work. That Day Care tracker, and the one for hunting down roaming Pokémon, were incredibly useful. I often found myself just leaving the actual clock app running though, as Pokémon can easily eat up an entire day.
In terms of overall use of the bottom screen I think Hg/Ss had it best. I loved actually being able to just keep my stylus in my right hand and use my left on the D-pad rather than constantly putting away the stylus to use the buttons. Pokégear having both the rematch-call function of the gadget in R/S/E and being able to change the music was really cool, but being able to quickly tap on the running shoes, and set two Key Items to easily access were the ones that made me think they'd finally figured out the bottom screen...only to then not offer that in Gen V, which was definitely a backwards step.

Pokétch all the way! It had so many features! I didn't have to open the party menu to check my team's health, it had the friendship checker, it gave the affection each Pokémon had towards another in the party, step counting, calculator and so on....it was fun to use, and I haven't spent more time on the lower screen in any Pokémon game....

The Pokétch! It even had that nifty Snorlax timer so you could remind yourself how long you were playing, not to mention it tracked berries and roaming legendaries, and could change display colour! It was really handy and useful.
I never did reset my step counter since getting my Pokétch - over the years, it probably overflowed sometime.
