Yeah! I've been having good luck with forming habits that way, saying "when I do x, I will also do y". I work really well when I associate things with other stuff. Like I gotta eat, right, so I say "I will drink a glass of water before I touch my food" and I do that for every meal. I have to take my meds at night, so I say "I will drink a glass of water with my meds." I have to use the toilet, so I say "every time I go, I will do 15 push-ups."
Also I've been doing kettlebell exercises- working on perfecting the basic swing right now. The thing is that I'm pretty sure I'm doing it correctly, but it's not particularly challenging to do 3 x 20 reps. I guess I'll up that? But I'm afraid of screwing myself up if I don't have the form down pat.
This current week I've been doing a reduced-calorie diet, staying under 1500 every day and I intend to keep that going till the end of January and see what that does for me. Tracking calories is really helping me avoid eating out of boredom and I'm not really hungry much. Even when I am I just make tea with no additives and it's all fine!
I've taken "eat a vegetable every day" out of my goals index because at this point it's really just a given; I just had to start forcing myself to do it again. Peppers, green beans, and eggs is a staple breakfast now haha. I take the time to chop all my vegetables etc when I'm watching TV so I don't just feel like I'm losing out on doing something when I do either of those~
So far I've been sleeping better and I've had more energy since I started this. It's at the point where it's noticeable and that's fantastic~
