If you want to cut down on the amount of crap you buy, don't take your bank card to the supermarket. Take a set amount of cash and start with the essentials then you'll have less money left over to spend on things that are unhealthy and no other ways of legally taking it home.

Try combining this with your walking if you can by making several trips to the shop on foot during the weak instead of one big trip by car.

See I'd love to do that but! Iiiit's winter and cold and ugh. Having a budget cap is a good idea for sure :>

Sooo my mom challenged me to do this for January: a list of things to not eat under any circumstance! We are generally pretty good but this is just a challenge to absolutely say No not even a Bite. The list of No is-

- chips (crisps)
- potatoes
- ice cream
- fast food
- fried food
- chocolate
- white bread
- soda
- juice
- cake
- doughnuts
- cookies
- candy

and really that's! easy! i dont buy those! but if i'm around them and they are offered I tend to take advantage of it... so i'm going to not. from jan 2 to jan 31 it will be None of those for me~

hey I hope I can be some help to you. I lost over 100lbs a few years ago so i know how hard it can be. more than tell you what to do i hope i can assist you in what not to do.

i think the best thing to do is just modify your diet, but nothing too drastic. I was cutting carbs hardcore when i first started dieting and the results were awesome, but it's easy to gain back quickly once you start reintroducing some carbs back.

Anytime you change your diet to be healthier typically the first week is the hardest because your body is now readjusting so you're craving all those calories or easy sugars/carbs your body isn't getting anymore. There's not much you can do here but just buckle down and push through the cravings. within a week or two you'll notice they'll subside and you'll start feeling fuller faster.

some simple tips you probably already know but can't hurt anyway
- try to replace sweets with fruits. fruits contain natural sugars and mostly good carbs. it's better for your body to process and it gives your body its sugar fix.
- instead of taking out carbs replace them with whole grains. whole grain breads, pastas, brown rice, etc. these fill you longer and once again your body processes them more efficiently. enjoy your healthy carbs but don't indulge in them.
- VEGETABLES. i find vegetables to be the hardest to always incorporate, but incorporate them as much as possible!! Especially your green vegetables. dark leafy greens are often full of nutrients, very low calorie, and so good for you! Try to make your vegetable portion the largest portion during your meals.
- obvious one here, but lean proteins do wonders. especially if you're working out also. chicken, turkey, fish, are all lean and fairly affordable barring some fish. tuna in a can is one amazing protein packed food and cheap! a lot of people will tell you to stay away from beef and pork, but if you eat them in moderation and prepare them yourself they're not too bad. I'd steer away from ham, but a baked pork chop for dinner isn't bad.

I really like Pintrest but I also hate cooking ahaha. ^^;

Sorry I am late, and I'll be honnest I didn't read all the messages here as I am about to go to sleep, but I h.a.t.e cooking too :o But I did found small, quick recipes on pinterest! I saves many of them, if you tell me what you'll like to eat, I can send you some links :) mostly vegans or fish. And trust me, I don't know how to cook and I did some great salmon, smoothies, kinda healty cookies, etc.

My favorite recipes are the avocado's pudding and the oatmeal cookies (both has like 3 ingredients).

Ahh thanks for the advice guys I'll get back to you properly tomorrow when I am not exhausted from being busy et al <33 an update I wrote earlier today for you tho:

Well. Time to think about how today, while being a great day socially and emotionally, was a trainwreck in terms of goals. I have reasons, and I have excuses, but we're not going to even start with that bull here.

Coming back from vacation, I have no food in the house. Not even milk. Therefore breakfast was two cups of coffee and some gingerbread cookies, because the slowly deteriorating gingerbread village is currently right in front of my office space. Gonna move that tomorrow. Strike one: cookies.

After all friends had gathered, we went out to the mall. We walked and browsed for a long time and then went for lunch at a place called Burger Burger. While my burger did include a good portion of vegetables, it also came with fries which I did choose to eat. Strike two: bun. Strike three: fries.

Everything is on after-hols sale right now, guys. Everything. Especially at Old Navy and Old Navy is so much my fav store that I basically dress like one of their mannequins on most days. I shelled out $34 for three shirts and a sweater (great deal!) which I really didn't actually need. Strike four: unnecessary purchases.

Some of our group wanted ice cream. I also got some. Strike five: ice cream.

At home, I didn't feel like preparing real dinner so I ate a banana, some gingerbread, and a chocolate cookie thingy my friend made. Strike six: more cookies.

Yikes. gr8 start, Anna. I did walk four miles though! And got groceries. So tomorrow I will do better. It won't be hard lmao.

That's a great list! I'll follow that too actually! Except for juice - I really want juice and I think orange juice is mostly healthy, if only had in one glass a day. Dark chocolate is also not bad for you, but rather very good (we're talking 70% dark chocolate or more here though, not candy).

Ooh, I've tried the drastic carb-cutting before. Basically had the same experience haha. I still tend to avoid them overall but I've grown up making the healthier choices with grains in general so when I do it I do it okay~

Honestly you are so right about the first week and I am SO BAD with it I basically have to throw out everything I am trying not to eat so I have to leave to get it and my laziness tends to exceed my cravings. ;P

Vegetables are so, so hard. I just do not enjoy them. The best I manage is usually half green bean and half egg. I don't like cooked leafy greens and I let salad mixes go bad... I'm a mess tbh. Any advice abt vegetables? What can I do to make myself eat them lmao

I will eat just about anything that doesn't involve mushrooms or cooked leafy greens, really? Feel free to post stuff in here for me and I'll take a look. <3 What's avocado pudding?

My problem is that if I allow myself ANY juice or chocolate there is No Stopping Me so personally it's better to just drop it all lmfao but if you have better restraint you go right the heck ahead Rika :D

Also remember that just because you feel hungry, doesn't mean you need to eat. I have trouble with that still, but I'm working on it. A way that can help combat that hunger feeling is just to keep a high fiber veggie (like carrots) stocked in your fridge for snacking, if you're going to snack.

I'm more of a habit-eater- I'm rarely ever hungry but I get bored so I go find a snack? I really shouldn't. But carrots are a fantastic sub for [insert sugar/carb here] so I really should be buying them more. ^^;

Also I got my vegetable out of the way early today; breakfast was eggs and sweet peppers.

So I'm getting on the language bandwagon again with Spanish. Again. As usual. I tend to only get so far and then get lazy. But over the last two days I have learned all the months (instead of only four) and I can count confidently to 69! (not intentional I just stopped numbering pages at 60... and I know how to get up to 9 in any set...)

That's my problem too! But carrots and cucumber does help. You can try some blueberries (or any berries you know). I did replace chips with popcorn too.

I don't remmeber if you like tea or not, but when I want to binge at night I dirnk some tea. They are many with greta flavors so it's great when you are craving something.

So this is a pinterest account I did for food only

No problem! :) and Yeah avocado can be pricey but maybe watch for the specials, you can use them right away! You can look for some smoothies recipes, it's easy to do and give us a lot of fruits and stuff :)

Hi! Just wanted to stop by and give my two cents in :)

Supermarket products nowadays put out products with insane amounts of sugar in them when they don't need to be, so be on the look out on the nutrition facts!!
One thing that's really easy to put together & really good for you is Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt! I usually add in dried cranberries and sliced almonds to give it more flavor (but be careful on the toppings!! Too many cranberries will make it too sweet if you know what I mean). + If you are going to get Greek Yogurt, make sure its Non-Fat & Plain because the flavored ones add too much sugar which is bad for anyone & contradicts the purpose.

Also, drink a lotttttt of water. I cannot stress this enough. Juices nowadays are full of sugar and preservatives that aren't really good for you even though their marketing might say otherwise. Some milk brands add a good amount of sugar in their milks so watch out for that. Water will help flush out whatever toxins is in your body & help you digest and feel better!

+ If you can, I recommend getting a good amount of sleep & not eating so late. It really helps your body & brightening up your day!

The best advice I can give about vegetables is to find what you like and eat it.

if you diet and force yourself to eat tons of things you hate it probably won't last long. make a list of all the veggies you like. try ones you've never had. find ones that give efficient nutrients and vitamins. aka ice berg lettuce ain't gonna cut it.

for me raw carrots were a blessing. i didn't have to cook them and I could eat them with some natural peanut butter or a portioned out amount of dressing. if you like your veggies cooked a really simple way is to just roast them with oil, salt, and pepper. experiment as you go

Hah so I have been not doing as well as I would like to be. It's very cold outside and the only space where I can be alone in my house is the tiny bathroom and the mold-filled basement so I feel really uncomfortable trying to exercise. Last time I exercised in that basement I got really sick and that was... counterproductive, no matter how great my cardio was going. My bedroom is a disaster of squeaky floorboards and anyway when I want to exercise my fiancé is sleeping.

I really feel like exercise is the way to go for me. My mom has always impressed upon me the importance of diet in relevance to yknow. Being heathy and also weight loss. But no matter how good I ever am- and I know I'm good, my food logs tend to look great- just eating right is not enough. But I don't feel comfortable in my own house and it is honestly too fucking cold to be outside and dealing with sick people on public transit to get to a gym.

I really do hate the situation I'm in.

sooo I went and changed things up because I don't really need to log EVERYTHING here, that's what I have a bullet journal for. So I'm gonna go for more of a weekly report in addition to answering anyone who posts in here. Still come talk to me and keep me on track!!

Let's see... I made Spanish practise into a daily goal because I've found myself doing it daily anyway (thanks, duolingo). I added "get out of bed before noon" because while I wake up well before then I tend to be LAZY. Exercise is no longer split into cardio & strength just... anything is good. I don't really have opportunity to do much for cardio. And I added buy a house because that's happening soon! I talked to my financial adviser today and he said our credit might be seeded sooner than we thought? So that's cool~

ahhh hello i am doing better
i have been doing some minor strength exercises every day for the last few days so that is! something at least! there is a wall in my bathroom that is very good for doing wall pushups on so every time i go to the bathroom i do 15? so thats a thing now. i was doing squats but it really really hurts my knees even tho i am doing them right ://

Wall push ups are great! (it's the only push ups I can do because of my arms). It's a reat idea to ding a spot and motive yourself each time you are near that spot.
