3rd Gen Finding Feebas

On Route 119 of R/S/E the elusive Feebas roam on six random water tiles along the route. Adding to the difficulty, other wild Pokemon besides Feebas will still appear in the Feebas tiles as well. So my question today is, did you ever bother catching the elusive Feebas in hopes of getting a beautiful Milotic?

I managed to get Feebas, but I didn't know at the time it appeared on 6 random water tiles, I thought nothing of it at the time. I did eventually get a Milotic out of it, and swapped my Pelipper for it.

I had no clue on how to find Feebas at all, and that really annoyed me because they were seemingly harder to obtain than the Weather Trio and Eon Duo themselves.

During my first playthrough I wasn't aware of Feebas's rarity, nor was I interested to catch one. So, yeah, it all goes from there. :P I did want a Milotic though, but I felt it doesn't have a spot in my team anymore since I had two water types and they have high levels compared to the wild Feebas in that route. I guess it was worth training the Feebas and evolving it with a hassle of a method, but I was a lazy little trainer back then. :d

I dont remember quite well if I knew it was only in six spots, but I knew he was rare. I played on my Sapphire cartridge, and stumbled upon a Feebas, and it was awesome cos I knew it was rare! Long story short, I caught two boxes of Feebas cos you never know when you might need one more. :D

I don't remember how I did it, but I remember completing the Pokedex so that means I caught Feebas! Funny story, actually, I remember I had a Gameshark and I was very close to hacking a Feebas in my game since I couldn't find one, but then I eventually did and I never ended up hacking my file.

After some research I did know how to catch Feebas. Only in Emerald I succeeded once :) I changed the Trendy Phrase and then I went back to Route 119 immediately. After some pulls on my Rod I was stunned to encounter a Feebas! :D I caught a whole bunch and eventually evolved one into a Milotic, which I still have today :3

Sadly, I was never able to find Feebas. I've looked through a variety of guides and tutorials online, but regardless of how hard I tried, I simply wasn't able to run into this particular Pokémon. Feebas was one of the reasons I quit trying to finish my PokéDex, in all honesty. My friend had two of them, but couldn't give any to me, as she had no link-cable.

I didn't have the time and patience to try all the spots, so I never got to find a Feebas in the wild :< However, someone traded me a Milotic in Ruby, so I got to breed one!

I caught myself three when I last played Sapphire and I evolved two...
    As a water-trainer I can't not catch one, it's as easy as that ;) Milotic is a must. :D

It took me a long time but I finally caught one in my first playthrough years ago. When I got it, I bred it and evolved it as soon as I could and then cloned the milotics in emerald.

    Feebas, good or bad?

    Feebas, Magicarp's cousin.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Finding Feebas

Ok to start off let's get round the fact it's pretty much impossible to find and talk about how useful it is.

Sure it's starts off bad but is it really worth it in the end? You have to raise it's beauty stat a lot to evolve it and it's just not that good in the end.

After all the trouble and how late you get it you could have gotten far better water types by then.

What's your opinion on this Pokemon and it's evolution?

The sense of accomplishment never ceases.

I really enjoy how rare it is and how tedious it is to evolve. Milotic has become one of my favourite Pokémon largely down to the accomplishment in getting it in the first place, not to mention how good it is in itself as a Pokémon.

I remember actually finding a shiny Feebas in my Ruby version and almost hitting the ceiling. It wasn't until I caught it did I come to discover it was in fact a (then) nature that won't evolve. I didn't keep that file for HG/SS (or the later Generations to come out) so I could get my dream of a shiny Milotic. :(

To me, it's not really worth it, at least not for the main story, considering there are so many other Water-types you could have before then. And figuring out how to evolve it (and doing so itself) isn't much fun.

While Milotic is rather cool, it's not something i'm really gonna go out of my way for.

Competitively, there are many great alternatives, so in that regard, I honestly wouldn't say it's worth it. For you're searching for this Pokémon for collection purposes, though (or anything else), then it probably is. Personally, I was never able to find Feebas in RSE. Due to that, I even had to quit working on my Pokédex in Emerald.

Milotic is a great Pokemon overall with high special attack and even higher special defense, but unless you're a really huge fan of Milotic, you'd be better off going with something else that is on more or less equal plains and definitely much easier to find. If you really want to get your hands on a Feebas/Milotic, trading is a much more efficient way.

I liked the idea...except I don't think I could produce the right pokéblok without the Blend Master, who doesn't appear until post-game. Plus now I have no time-based events so he'll never appear :(

I did capture one on Platinum once, luckily you could buy Poffins but the achievement of being lucky enough to find one was still something.
