Tear accepted the gift kindly, but was rather astonished at Hector's great kindness, for being such a large, gruff-looking man.
He's a brute, no doubt about that, but he has a heart of gold!
He admired the weapon in it's royal sheath, and then attached it to his belt across from the other sword Hector gave him, so he had a sword on each side.
"We give you our most humble gratitude Lord Hector! You are truly one of the greatest men I've had the honor to meet."
He reached out his hand and shook it with Hector's mighty one.
"However, I'm sure we must be on our way. Anymore gifts and I'm not sure I'll be able to move!" He laughed, as he rested his hands on each of his sword shafts.
Hector smiled, and motioning for several servants behind him, he began to speak to the group.
"Your journey will be a long one, so we have prepared rations for each of you. It's been a pleasure to have you in my kingdom. More fun then I have had in years!" He said, with a rolling laugh following.
"I'm positive you will be able to conquer whatever obstacle may block your path.
.....and with that, farewell!"
He nodded, as the group headed back for the door.
Just before Tear exited however, Hector rushed up to him.
"Tear! I have.... something I want you to give to Emiru."
Tear looked down at a steel sword in a sheath, wrapped with a light blue bow.
Jewels were encrested in it's handle in a splendid design. Tear gazed at the sword, and slowly took it from him, as he raised his head back up to meet Hector.
"Tell her, it's a gift from her parents. They are really worried about her, and have questioned me many times of her whereabouts, once during your stay. Although I now know she is in your company, I have yet to tell her parents.... in fact, I mean not to. She needs peace and time to be free from her homeland, and I believe that path is with you and your companions, Tear. They sent this sometime ago, but I've never had the chance to send it to her. Be sure to give her this."
Tear smiled, and held it carefully, as he began to walk away.
He really is a great man...He thought.
