Last time we got two new forums, so maybe this time we can get two new too <3 and if they turn out to suck then oh well we had our fun.

Voted for the pets/animals section. I like the idea and I see a lot of potential in it, considering how many of us really like animals.

I'd also like to include a vote for Animal Kingdom/Pets.

Even if it's not a draw you should still totally do it because everyone would be all over it and love it and cuddle it.

Edit: cuz I'm bored at work here's what an animal forum could have.

Weekly animal spotlight
This would involve finding an animal that not many people know about and talking about it / sharing pictures and learning ****.

Donation Drives
Once every few months a donation drive happens. Someone could speed run a Pokémon game and all the money raised would go to an animal rescue charity.

Pet Pictures
People post pictures of their pets.

Animal Hunt
An animal is named and people go and find that and take pictures. Ideally if a new animal is posted a week (not too uncommon) people try and complete their collection by getting a photograph each week.

Bird watching
Try and snap a bird nobody else on the forum has before.

Training tips
Someone puts together training tips for various animals and it can be used as a resource etc.

Cats vs Dogs debate
Self explanatory.

Pet name rater

Animals in the media
One major news piece article to share cool stuff animals have done.

Pet discussion
Separate threads to discuss people's pets, one thread per animal imo. So like minded people can come together and discuss.

Fun debates
Chicken vs egg, what out speeds what etc

David Attenborough
A thread dedicated entirely to his series

Dinosaurs extinct
Discussion how it really happened etc

Animal movies
Maybe a thread per each new movie and one to discuss old ones like lion King etc. Maybe a spotlight once a month on an old movie. Could even organise a screening of it live so everyone can talk about it. The possibilities are literally endless.

The ethics of dog breeding etc
Whether it really is wrong or not

Zoo ethics
Same as above really. Is it ethical?

The smartest animal debate
Could be fun?

Then people could post help threads asking for advice on certain things like what fish to get, what to give their bird etc.

And I'd like to put forward Forever's name, to be the Mod of "Animal Kingdom" ;)

Ya, I guess name doesn't matter, as long as we can get the Forum, which brings me back to the question I asked - How is the new Forum(s) going to be selected? Depending only on which one gets the majority of the votes? If that's the case, Worldbuilding is still ahead, so there will be no Animal Kingdom if it stays that way? :( or will we get both? ~_~

Am I the only one here who questions as to WHY Wordbuilding should even have its own thread, yet it has a huge amount of votes?

It used to have its own forum/sub-forum I believe but there wasn't really enough interest to maintain it.

Worldbuilding is far too expansive for a single thread and there's a lot of us here who thoroughly enjoy it. If that's not a good enough reason to try it out as a forum I don't know what is lol.

Can't you talk to maccrash about having a superheroes theme month in General Entertainment? As gimmicky as possible.

Why not vote worldbuilding, make your own pet or superhero universe and see what happens there

I still think it's a good idea to consider adding both. Six votes difference means very little and it certainly isn't a landslide victory. There's definitely the support for an animals forum, whereas a lot of people are reserved about the world building forum. Adding both appeals to everyone - those that wanted worldbuilding can give it a chance to thrive and show people it was worth appearing a second time around. People are passionate for an animals forum now, why not give it a chance, see what it can do, and worse case scenario it can be retired at the end of three months. At least both have their chance to shine. Animals in general is something that appeals to the entire community. The roots of Pokémon are pretty much big collecting, and that can translate into animals as well. I mean bugs might as well be included too but the possibilities for discussion are endless.

Unlike creative media and tabletop games from last forum frontier, animals are literally everywhere. You can't go anywhere without seeing an animal (including birds and bugs in this too) and that's pretty cool. It makes the forum relevant to everyone. Yes, you could add in JUST a worldbuilding forum but like Fanfiction, Role play etc that doesn't appeal to everyone. Animals appeal to the majority of the population and have a good chance at succeeding in the long run. As my other post shows, there's no limits to what you could do in that type of forum. It's not niche unlike the other suggestions so I think it shouldn't have any problems sustaining activity.

I mean...

Animals give us a chance. We should give them a chance.

There's a few other options on the poll I wouldn't mind voting for, but I love sports so gotta vote for that. What could go in a sports section, you may ask? You guessed it: SPORTS! Football, soccer, basketball, baseball, pro/amateur wrestling, mixed martial arts, etc. The list could keep going and going but then we would probably be getting into sports that no one even knows about.

I just realized that Animal Kingdom could fit nicely as a subforum within The Lab (I'm surprised nobody has considered the creation of The Menagerie).

I'd like to request the removal of my vote from Worldbuilding. Nothing against the idea itself, because I like the idea, however, I cannot vote for a section which, at the end of the day, I probably won't post there much (if at all).

Problem is where does one draw the line in future polls of what deserves to get in regardless of not getting first ('only x posts behind!' etc). Plus it is easier to install one new forum at a time than two imo - after all, the last case where we had a draw and went with two sections wasn't super crash-hot with forum usage. :(
