Yikes! >_< I've shut the door on my fingers countless times. It hurts so much.
Oh, and I've got another story! I wasn't there, but I've heard the story from my family and I think it's really funny. I'll tell you their names so you'll know who I'm talking about.
A couple of years ago my mom, (Laura) aunt, (Susie) uncle, (Steve) and grandfather (We call him Pop) went fishing at a lake that they really like. They went on my grandfather's fishing boat. Well, my mom really isn't the type of person that enjoys getting dirty and being out in the woods, so everyone kind of teases her about that. Such as, she wears gloves whenever she's getting the fish off of her hook. XD Anyways, they were all sitting in the boat fishing happily, when my mom saw something moving in the water. It was black, and it was coming straight at them, really fast, non-stop. My mom squinted and looked out at it, trying to focus and see what it was. She patted my aunt on the shoulder and whispered, 'Susie.... is that a snake?' My aunt looked over at it, and then back at my mom with an awkward look and replied, 'That's Pop's lure.' Everyone started laughing at my mom, of course, and wouldn't stop teasing her the whole trip, and even after they got home.
Little did they know the joke was on them...
On the next fishing trip, all four of them went back to the same lake. They were fishing in almost the same exact spot as last time. My mom was looking around, when she shouted, 'There's a REAL snake!!!' Sure enough, a big black one was swimming nearby. My grandfather just looked out and said, 'Sure is!' Everyone kind of looked at it for a while, watching it swim. Then they noticed that it just kept coming and coming and coming and coming. They were expecting it to just swim off, but it was headed straight for them, just like that lure. And it was swimming really fast. You would expect a snake to get scared and go under water, but not this one. When my mom and aunt figured that out, they started screaming and 'dancing' around in the boat while my uncle and grandfather just looked at them like they were psychos. The boat almost turned over! Once the ladies calmed down, they looked out and saw the snake still coming towards the boat. It continued coming, and once it was as close to the boat as it could get, it stuck its head up out of the water and sort of raised up and looked at them. My mom screamed and got her fishing rod and started whacking at the water, while my aunt was busy shouting, 'LAURA! Don't get it angry!' Finally, it swam off and disappeared. So, this time my mom was the one who had the last laugh.
It was just funny how the first time it wasn't a real snake, and the next time it was! XD And it was really big, too. I wish I could've been there, lol.
