Every gamer has games come out that have those little issues that just rub you the wrong way. Whether that be a gameplay decision, a naming convention, or even the color of something.

    What are some of yours?

    Spoiler:

That's one of my nitpicks. What are yours?

Knifing air or feet in Counterstrike:GO and dealimg full backstab damage to someone.

It happened to me when I knifed someone and I still find it a bit... why is that a thing?

What about RNG/bad AI do you hate, bro(s)?
Really, what is there to like about RNG? It's lazy, pure and simple. It takes the game firmly out of the player's hands and leaves them at the mercy of something that could work in their favour instantly, or quite literally serve as a roadblock to progress forever. It turns even the most fun task into a tedious, time-consuming bore with absolutely no guarantee of success and no promise of reward for perseverence.

I am firmly of the belief that the amount of effort you put into a game should be proportionately rewarded by that game. You can put hours into, say, finding an item with a 10% chance and NEVER find it. Those same hours you put into a different game, you could gain several levels, or complete several quests and acquire other useful items. Always, ALWAYS, it should come down to your skill as a player, and your willingness to put the time in to acquire - with certainty - what you want at the end of it.

Where is the skill, or the certainty, in RNG? There is none. It's lazy. Boring. A cheap way to artificially extend the life of a game - especially when there are trophies that depend upon this mechanic - and in no way, ever, is it a positive thing. Developers should learn how to design their games properly, rather than letting an unfeeling, badly-designed algorithm do it for them. RNG should NEVER factor into video games. Ever. It's better to be lucky than good, but luck is NOT a skill. Even giving the player ways to manipulate the odds in their favour is unacceptable, because those odds could STILL play against you. Even 80% chance means you could literally never get what you want to...don't believe me there? Go play Fire Emblem Echoes and see how often you miss with an 80% success rate.

I have never seen RNG properly implemented in a game, because there is no proper way to implement it.

    I hate lag

I don't think this counts as a pet peeve. It's a legitimate gaming issue.

Hearing a skyrim guard telling you to stop shouting for the thousandth time is soooo annoying.

Well I mean if you'd listen to him then it wouldnt be a problem anymore.

    Dang rebels.

Now hearing about they used to be an adventurer is another story...

Yes but I must tear apart the market stands >:/

Hahaha is their a game in your mind that's extremely guilty of doing that?

I was thinking of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door's final boss. Before the real fight starts, there is a 5 minute cut-scene. Then a scripted portion of the fight, then yet another 5 minute cut-scene, then if you lose during the real fight you start that all over.

Yeesh, that's rough. How is that game by the way? I've played the N64 and Wii Paper Mario's, but I never had a chance to play Thousand Year Door.

Facing previous bosses (Sometimes colour swapped most the time not) in one marathon run in the last level before facing the final boss.

    Invisible walls.

NPC roadblocks. Pokemon does this a lot. One of the Pokemon Unova games did this (and mocked it at the same time) by having a group of dancing men blocking your way for no reason and stating they will then leave for no reason.

It's worth playing. It takes everything from the N64 version and improves it, which is why it's considered the best in the series. Personally it was my favorite game for a long time.

The biggest difference was the chapters were no longer just going to different areas like the N64 version, but each chapter now has it's own story.

Multi-stage, transforming bosses. You beat them with just a shred of your life left, you're all relieved and feel like you get a break or a cutscene or something, only to have them go "HAHAHA YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN MY TRUE FORM YET", and they dump you back into battle against an even stronger version of it, sometimes without the chance to replenish your health.

Water levels, they have been the bane of my existence since Megaman 2. Seriously, in the Bubbleman stage, the entire ceiling is covered in spikes that kill you instantly, and it's so easy to float all the way up there by accident. And all the water levels in super mario, etc. >_<
