Male Gardevoir, female Poliwrath, female Charizard, female Geodude... There are many of them, but hey, we need some balance, right?

Okay maybe I exaggerated with Poliwrath and Charizard, but maybe it's just me. I can't see them as females.
I know what you mean. Nintendo should put a little more effort into making differences between genders in design, not all Pokemon have gender differences which I think should be necessary for the sake of detail...
Well, since 4th gen games, they did some effort into making those differences. Female Pikachu/Raichu having different tail... for example...
I agree with the Machop line, that it should definitely be male only...
I can understand Gardevoir but the rest are fine with both genders.
Pokemon like Mr. Mime & Seaking should be Male only and should have different female forms, it would make more sense that way... but then again, it would make things complicated wouldn't it? ...
In that case, they would probably have to rename the Pokemon as well. Miss Mime and Seaqueen sounds good to me.Adding on to the topic, I've always found male Gardevoir and male Jynx a little funny.![]()
Male Gothitelle, although the bigger issue to me is why some Pokemon even have genders. Geodude's line is a great example. They're sentient rocks, but they're able to mate and reproduce by laying eggs.
It never bothered me much, since Pokemon aren't humans, so wouldn't need to have sexes similar in appearance to our own. Look at the animals in nature, for example. The only difference between many of them are their sex organs.
What about male Lopunny? Lopunny looks like a feminine Pokémon in general, IMO.
