First things first (or, uh, second) welcome to new people! ^^ The RPC, and PC in general, is a great community. It's like on other sites when you meet that person that's a really nice person except EVERYONE HERE IS THAT PERSON. @Lipey's idea sound's pretty boss, by the way.

In terms of advertising, I've never actually joined an RP I've seen advertised on here :( BUUUUT, that's just because I'm too scared to join any more RPs in case I can't keep up with them. I'm still not entirely sure what my capacity for RPing is, and college has been fairly busy recently. If it weren't for that, I'd have joined a bloody ton of them. For me, it's just really annoying, because I see a load of RPs advertised on here that I'd LOVE to join, but I don't know if I could handle doing it. Spoiled for choice, I guess. It seems like advertising here would really work on me if I wasn't so strict on how many I can join at a time. For the record, all the RPs I joined I just found, before I discovered that the RPD thread was a thing :P

Also, there are several free spots open in my RP, Adventurers in Training - D&D: Icewind Dale!

Anyways has anyone thought about making an rp based on the anime, Beyond the Boundary?

Seeing that Beyond the Boundary isn't very popular I was thinking a short synopsis is in order XD

One day, high school student Akihito Kanbara instinctively goes to save his fellow schoolmate, Mirai Kuriyama from committing suicide. Following his pleas, Mirai suddenly stabs Akihito with a sword formed out of her own blood and is shocked to discover that Akihito is an immortal "half-youmu"—the offspring of a supernatural creature called a youmu and a human. After learning that Mirai is a Spirit World Warrior (異界士 Ikaishi?)—specialists who protect humans from being affected by youmu—and the last surviving member of her spirit hunting clan, their lives become intertwined as Akihito seeks to help Mirai gain the confidence to kill youmu so that she may stop attempting to kill him as practice.

In Beyond the Boundary, youmu (妖夢 yōmu?, alt. Dreamshade) are supernatural creatures that appear throughout the series and can only be seen by those with a supernatural affinity. They are said to be the physical materialization of human animosity such as negative emotions including hatred, jealousy and malice and therefore as long as humans exist, youmu will continue to exist. They can exist in many types of shapes and forms with some even having a human appearance. There are also rare cases when a youmu and a human mate and produce offspring called Half-Youmu (半妖 Han-Yō?, "Half-Shade"). Most youmu are relatively docile and coexist with humans without them even aware of their presence. However, there are times when a youmu's behavior upsets the balance, so the Spirit World Warriors are sent in to kill them. Upon death, a youmu produces a Youmu Stone (妖夢石 Yōmu Ishi?, alt. Dreamshade Stone) which can be appraised and traded, hence providing a source of income for a Spirit World Warrior

Basically there are these spirit warriors and they fight youmu which are kinda demons. There are different Spirit Warrior clans that have different powers and i thought this would make for a pretty cool rp premise

@Red's Hawt Chibi Pelippers Our previous forum's audience was mainly younger children and several notorious spammers, and the RP's most certainly reflected that. While not wholly awful, they were simply not my style. >.< But thank you very much for the warm welcome, this place is absolutely lovely~ :3

@Rhize and Lipey: Wow, you two don't miss a beat! Lipey, if you can keep the sides from being too black and white (i.e. not making the slayers blatant villains) then it could offer a very intriguing form of faction-based play. Those sorts of RPs usually require a large amount of players to fill both so you'd need to make it look exceptionally appealing. As you've seen, you've already gathered interest on premise alone, so I'm pretty sure the idea isn't "stupid". Hold your head high! And Rhize, I'm also very interested in the contents of the "Malice" comic before and after a child enters it. Can the children fight back or will it be a survival RP?

@Apollo: My first thought after reading the first paragraph was "Well that escalated quickly!" I am curious though. What sorts of abilities do the Youmu have, and what sorts of abilities do the different hunter clans have? Are the hunters typically outmatched by the Youmu which would add an element of strategy?

I was debating whether or not I should do some advertising, but wondered if it would net me anything. I wasn't aware it worked as well as it seems it does. So...

The Legend of Zelda: The Imprisoning War is accepting players! We're just about to get into the meat of the RP so now is a perfect time to join! Don't worry if you can't now, it's set up so that you can join whenever without messing with the story. This is an RP where Hyrule is in an almost post-apocalyptic state with heavy emphasis on survival.

Sekirei: Wings of Fate, which Lord Sephear has already mentioned is in a similar position where things are just getting really started. This is a sandboxy action RP with a partner mechanic where love is a central theme and actually has an influence on the strength of the characters.
 
I feel I can answer that question adequately my friend. (And if you think it escalated quickly reading it, imagine how it feels if you're watching it without so much as a hint at what's going to happen XD I was pretty surprised and confused) Youmu have as many different powers as you're typical representations of monsters in many RPGs would have, tons of completely different creatures with their own unique abilities and mannerisms. For example one of the friendly Youmu in Beyond the Boundary is a fully evolved Kitsune (or for those of you who don't know the word, she's the Nine-tailed fox), as such she has great magical and physical power, and can control spirit fire. Only 3 examples of Spirit Hunter abilities have been shown so far in the anime if i remember correctly. One family's abilities revolve around making barriers, such as walls or big cubed cages, very much like another interesting anime I've forgotten the name of. Another clan had abilities that revolved around manipulating their own blood, like making weapons from blood or shooting it as acid-like projectiles. And then there was one guy with...energy tendrils of some kind, not really very sure about him or his family.

@Apollo It's nice to see someone else talking about Beyond the Boundary, my friend got me to watch it a couple of weeks ago, it was great I can't wait for more. I haven't looked at the manga yet but the anime seems to be very early, I only saw 12 episode that haven't even been dubbed yet. Still though, that first chunk finale screams more so yeah! >:D

Malice would be a survival RP. They either die, fight back or escape and lose all memory of the place. c: The contents of the comic would be actual children in the world of Malice, often times the comic will jump between the children in Malice but unfortunately it depicts most of the children's ends. In this place many of the children die, and those who escape it lose total memory. The premise is that it is an entirely different realm that was once much like Earth, but ravaged by a man of the name Tall Jake, the main antagonist of the story.

A child must complete the ritual to enter, but as to coming in...Tall Jake decides that. The ritual is not a summoning. Merely an invitation for him to take them away.
 
@Apollo: I'd be interested in it for I love the anime a lot. Are you going to make one following the original arc(s)?

Indeed I am new to this forum. I haven't had a serious roleplay before so I feel a little overwhelmed, especially since everything has gone up and running on speedy engines. I don't suppose there's going to be a new roleplay made anytime soon, huh? x3
 
Actually, new RPs are made pretty often. What are you interested in, pokemon, medieval, mystery, much interaction?

Pokemon, medieval, mystery...much interaction also seems fine. (Wait that means all of the above orz)

I used to be in Journey RPs while I was here, but I've been a bit rusty in writing lengthy posts... Also had and still will have a fondness for PMD-esque roleplays (like Darkrai's Balloon).
 
Ooh Darkrai's balloon 8D cool that someone remembers that one.

I'm in a journey RP now called Hoenn Diaries, you could probably jump in if you wanted. The GMs are great, gimmepie has planned chapters out waaay ahead.

Red's right about the last bit, gimmie's been working hard and seriously we have enough material to last for months on end haha

You are welcome to join HD though, if journey RPs is kinda your thing fantome! We do have a few spots open so feel free to try your luck with a SU.

Waahhh, sounds tempting, but I'm uncomfortable with jumping into a roleplay once it has started. >w<

Though, I'll keep my eyes peeled for those yet-to-be-planted ideas (like Lipey's). x3
 
New people everywhere! It's raining men! :D Anyways, if ya'll REALLY want a great rp, then look out because I am so getting up my rp this week. It's an old one I really had no time for, but now that I'm better at managing my time I'll be getting it up soon.

Perhaps... I'm just in the process of retooling it a bit. Stay tuned though. HOPEFULLY I won't have too much homework this week as I hope to get this out by wednesday
