@firelordyago

Thank you for the heads up, links, and tips! I'll be sure to check out the Trainer Academy RP you mentioned as well as the others. :)

If anyone is interested in developing their writing, our buddy Slayr231 is soon to start a writing 'class' over in the Fan Fiction and Writing section. If you are interested in improving your character design, or your writing style in general, why not go over and show your interest :).

Please let me know if I am in the wrong area for this.
I am currently in production of a D&D styled Pokemon TableTop Role Playing Game for a group of friends. I have a story and land almost complete and now I must decide how to determine or calculate the Pokemon's Stats. Does anyone know if there is a formula to figure the stats of a Pokemon like Lv 1-10? And During a Pokemon's Lv-up, is there a formula to figure how many points are gained in each stat, assuming there will be a point or two for that Lv-up?

Hi there! :) I merged your thread with the discussion thread, since we reserve full threads for Roleplays that are ready to start.

You could use calculators like this one to work out stats. It should be accurate to the latest mechanics.

Quick question again:

Is there anywhere I might be able to post a draft of my sign up to an RP and have it reviewed? I'd rather not accidentally post in the wrong place if I can avoid it to avoid causing any admins/mods a headache if possible. Sorry if this is listed somewhere, but I can't seem to find it if it exists, so I might be overlooking something. Thank you again!

This link HERE should be a good place to be reviewed. Happy RPing!

@ALL THE NEW PEEPS Hey there I'm Greiger, welcome, but sadly I only have five seconds to speak cause three exams in a row. :V Hello, be merry, and if you see a guy named SV around, punch him because he's lazy and hasn't gotten a new computer STILL. It's been several months... so instead of punching him once punch him two times. That is all. Anyone that does this gets a free cookie from me*.

*Note, free cookies can only be given to newbies in this section. Any attempts to get a cookie without properly punching SV can possibly lead to: beratement, disappointed attitudes, weight loss, diarrhea, insanity, being locked in a room full of cookies yet chained up so you can't possibly get one. You have been warned.

Hello again, PC, RP Corner; Dusk is back.

Well... Kinda. The problems that also caused me to leave haven't gone, and may never go. I'm kind of a different person, and also kind of not. It's all a very long story. But, nonetheless, this is a fresh start.

Please, call me Yami. Or Onyx, or Dusk, if you'd prefer. Anyway, I'll be coming back into RP very soon, so expect that I suppose.

Nice seeing you again, Tyler. I think you've done this enough now that we can make light of it (more than once, that is), so... you came back sooner than I expected. Is that good or bad?

Regardless, hopefully you manage to solve your problems at some point.

As far as Roleplaying goes, I'd say it's good. Personally not so great, but that's irrelevant. I can't really manage my problems any on my own, but again, this isn't quite RPC discussion now, is it?

Welcome back Dusk!

Anyway, TD here after getting a name change.

Subtle reminded of the RPAs.

I have some ideas for how the next lot may run, if I could get some opinions that would be great :3. I am avoiding a secret voting panel (or voting panel at all) as I have my doubts about that system.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Personally, I think scenario two could be an interesting basis for a voting system. Just throwing out a rather raw idea, what about mixing it with something similar to an election (ie: the GMs nominate 2-3 candidates from their RPs, then the community could vote on them)? Unfortunately, it wouldn't help out the popularity voting problem, but your GM nominating you would serve as recognition in and of itself, which is better than nothing, and those who prefer to not Gm would still have a vote and say on who wins.

Personally, I think the current system is well enough. Letting anyone vote for anyone is a great freedom to have. Of course there is no way on heaven or hell to have a system where every single person has a bit of spotlight. In every kind of voting system you're always going to have those that are popular always outvoting those who are unknown. With this point in mind the RPAs can get some rpers to try and join more rps in order to get nominated and to meet other rpers and get to know them better.

A great saying is that you CAN'T please everyone all of the time, you can only please some of the people some of the time. That's true here as well. Yes, I don't agree with the system and some others don't agree with it ether, but for the most part I've seen the majority love this system, and if it's only being changed because a few people don't like it, then it really shouldn't have to be changed.

It would be quite a different story if... oh... say 90% of the rp corner came on the discussion board and let their hatred flow out, but it seems many do love this system and have no problems with it.

I understand I have a minority opinion on this, so if it's to make everyone happy... well, sorry, but even if we adopt a new system we're still going to have those that hate it. It's the fact of humanity.

So I say keep this system in place since it's already established.

It's just for fun, let the people who want to vote win and the people who want to win try to make an effort to do so :) That being said, if people think a more complicated system than the one currently deployed is better, I have no qualms about it changing.

Welcome new people. Welcome back returning person. you literally leave and come back so much, it's like a thing now, basically what Songbird said. Don't listen to Skymin or greigs, I'm a wonderful person.

As for the RPA idea, about a year or two ago, people were complaining that it was a popularity contest. People tried to fix it with the secret panel. The people that complained about the popularity contest mostly left PC or quieted down. New people came in and complained about the secret panel. New mod came in, people that complained about the panel left or quieted down, new people (and old ones who were around the first round of complaints) bring up the same issue again. Literally all we've done is make a circle back to where we were. Any system that will be created will be flawed. The freedom to vote has its advantages. The secret panel does have its advantages too, the two scenarios Magic said also do too. But they all have their disadvantages too. The question is which one has the least disadvantage. Personal opinion aside, I say you put it to a vote RPC-wide to decide, but really you'll never be able to please everyone.

THAT'S WHAT I JUST SAID! You stole my opinion! See everyone!? He's EVIL! Anyways, yes, you just can't please everyone.

After the uproar of me posting it then, it doesn't really matter after all :P

Ok ok. Maybe it'll be switched up in the future, but I won't worry about it for now.
