What is your favorite RP character that you have created and played as?

Fia from Sekirei: Wings of Fate is probably my favorite character of mine right now. She turned into something completely different than what I had originally planned her to be, but I'm actually quite glad about that :P

What is your favorite RP character created by someone else?

I don't really go through and read a whole lot of SUs by others, but of the ones I have read, probably Yamagi's character Noah.

On the topic of CSS posts, I (obviously) am a fan. Though I've made so many different and varying templates my opinion might be more biased. I've been working toward a central goal of sleekness, uniquity, simplicity and flair all at once. I question whether I've hit that mark at all (even with my recently-finished new format) but I'm happy with the result no less.

A new set of questions for you also! What is your favorite RP character that you have created and played as? What is your favorite RP character created by someone else?
*totally didn't erase the "u" in favourite because American-ness*

I think out of all of my characters, no matter how strange, obnoxious, unique or memorable (to me anyway), I still enjoy one of my very first characters, Kiba, from Earth & Sky. While he (shamefully, in my eyes) started out as a spiritual predecessor of myself, he quickly evolved into something I don't think I've been able to pull off in a long time: human (being that his origin is questionable, though, still). Of all my characters, I actually felt something for this one, he sort of leapt out of my grasp and became something on his own, as a very sincere and loving person. Even his full-six party all had their own personalities, backstories, and emotions that evolved as the RP progressed. That's sort of been on my mind since my abrupt return here, and is part of the reason I wiped the slate and am starting with new characters; I want to focus on that humanity in writing. That's my goal now. Here's looking back at you, Kiba ;-;
Spoiler:

For other characters... Gods, it's been a while, and there have been so many. I guess for the sake of memory constraints I'd say machomuu's Luka "Apathy" Evans. Aside from dark and brooding totally being my thing, there was a tone of realism to her and wild emotion that was pulled off very well. platonic loves, macho, purely platonic

I guess I should poke my head in here and say hi, seeing as I've been RP'ing here for a bit and all and I haven't done that yet.

So, um, hi, I guess. I'm GastlyGibus, or Gastly, or Gibs, or GG, or Captain Butterscotch, or whatever the hell you want to call me. I don't really care, as long as I know you're talking to me, we're good. :P

So, um, I guess this is the part where I butt in on the conversation on hand and pretend like I've been here the whole time. Heh.

Just a bit of pre-mature advertising to hopefully hype up some further interest. Nakuzami and myself will soon be submitting our original roleplay, Fragmented (linked to post in the planning and review thread). If you like stories about supernatural beings, underground civilisations, superpowers and government oppression this will be right up your alley and we'd love it if you'd check it out once it is submitted.

So let me just say that those are all things that interest me, so I went a click'd the link. I was instantly hooked. Definitely let me know when you get that up and running, I'd love to join it. :D

A new set of questions for you also! What is your favourite RP character that you have created and played as? What is your favourite RP character created by someone else?

My favorite character? Oh geez, let me pull from my incredibly small list of characters here...

Well, so far I've been having a lot of fun with Tavhir in Crimson Dawn here. Probably the most interesting backstory I've made for a character, in my own opinion anyways whatever that's worth. I'm hoping I get to flesh him out more later on, but so far he's my favorite (out of, what, three characters? Such variety, many choice, wow).

Other people's characters? Well, I can't really say much here, since I'm only in one RP atm, and I kind of like all the characters so far. If I were forced to pick though, I'd probably go with True Epicness' character Pendro from Crimson Dawn (shocker!). Epicness manages to capture that sort of awkward shyness with him perfectly, and he's a fun and interesting character to boot. :D

On the subject of CSS coding, I'm not a fan, actually. I just don't really see the purpose. Sometimes it messes up on the layouts I use, and it's a pain having to change my layout to see the post properly. It's unnecessary and just makes things harder to read, in my honest opinion. :/

To answer my own questions;

My favourite character that I myself have created is probably Skellen from SV and Raikiri's One Piece: The Golden Age. He's an assassin serving as the doctor in his pirate crew. His personality fluctuates wildly between serious, dark and brooding and fun-loving, carefree and party-hungry, sometimes with overlap and his snarky and sarcastic manner makes him really fun to write.

My favourite characters by other people, well that's a really long list actually. The two that always spring to mind immediately though, are Yorick Amherst Lee (SU Part 1, SU Part 2), played by Geras and Sagishi "Trix" Hokori (SU Part 1, SU Part 2), played by Dusk. Both are from Yokai Academy, but they're very different.

Yorick and Sagishi are possibly the funniest characters I have ever read. Yorick is a young werewolf with no ability to understand abstract concepts or language (like slang or strange connotations), a burning desire to become a gentleman and very fir beliefs regarding rules and rule-breakers. His frequent confusion at things said by other characters and ever-present dictionary make him ridiculously lovable. Sagishi on the other hand is a British alchemist mage with a troubled past and the spirit of a dead student from the school constantly saying things in his head. Sagishi is a prankster, a troublemaker, a practitioner of illegal magic and a colossal douche with a heart of gold. His arguments with Solo (the dead student) are some o the funniest things I have ever read.

Well, there you go xD

I really liked the Stranger in Age of Heroes; clever, evil, powerful and frustrated yet calm, patient and calculating. I enjoyed his machinations thoroughly.

What is your favorite RP character created by someone else?

Probably Tylor Grubas, made by Greiger, in Uncharted Waters. That funny, quirky but shady Sableye was one of the reasons I was glad to be in the RP, for my own character there was an underling of Tylor's in his crew. And that alone promised adventures filled with the cunning and deceifulness of a captain like him. Certainly an interesting prospect, sailing with Tylor!

What is your favorite RP character that you have created and played as?

Do they have to be RP's on here?

My favorite character is Leo Silverstone, who I'm currently using in the newest Digimon RP on here, or I will once he's accepted. He's been in several RPs on other sites, and his personality makes for lots of interesting interactions. xD

I'm the type that likes to reuse characters... multiple times, if I enjoy playing them. They're like my kids who's lives I can completely control. xD

Hmmm, well, I love my character Oakley but I do love to play as The Librarian in Atlantis whenever I get the chance. He's a lot of fun to write as. I think my absolute favourite thing to do when writing as characters who 'know more' is foreshadowing.

i'm really atlantis biased here but retro bug's delta is a lot of fun to read, and so is thayne and dom and the rest of the aup clan. <3

I think it's time I enlist Maddy and Peter in my librarian endeavors.
<3333 you doin great rika u doin greaaat!!!

Hey guys! Digimon Adventure: DigiDestined has been getting some traffic pretty quickly. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew about it. I also wanted to point out the system of judging that me and Kiklion are doing. Instead of first come, first serve, we will compare the characters against each other. This is essentially a beginner's RP. We are here to help when help is needed. However, this does not mean that more skilled players would not have fun if they were to join because we still hold our own expectation of excellence based on effort and improvement, not where you at right now.

As Kiklion said on the thread:

Also a second thing, to anyone who may be intimidated by the judging system, don't be!!! Comparing SUs does not mean we're looking for advanced players, SU professionals, or eloquent writers. You can be a beginner player, a bad SU maker, or someone with not-so-great prose as long as we can tell you put effort into your SU, you've made a well-rounded character, and you've met all of the minimums. Everyone has an equal chance here!

We only have five people applying right now. We're looking for around 8-10, so there is plenty of room!

So I have this idea, actually I have a bunch of ideas, but I'm going to talk about one idea. I dunno if it has been suggested before, but I'm going to suggest it anywhoo. Basically, it's a Super Smash Bros. RP. But wait, there is a little twist. Instead of playing as nintendo characters like Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, etc., you would play as a character you made in a RP, and the Smash Bros. style of RP would bring them together ala the "Subspace Emissary" style. Thoughts?

@Caesar - I have thought about this myself a number of times but it produces a fair number of questions/issues to me.

1. How do we compare the abilities/skills/powers of characters from different universes? For example, if I were to play as my character from Reapers - an RP of supernatural, otherworldly and almost immortal guardians of a cosmic balance how would I keep that fair if someone else chose to play a guy with a handgun? Or if someone decides to play as a Golduck, how is that fair when compared to a dragon (a dragon, not a dragon pokemon)?

2. Is this supposed to be competitive? If so, how will it stay un-biased? What system will be used to decide victors.

3. Are you prepared for, and able to manage, all the godmodding that I guarantee will happen?

Perhaps this sounds a bit harsh, I actually really love the idea I am just not sure how feasible it is. If you could pull it off though, it would be really fun.

I'm sure that everyone has heard of the Kanto wars conspiracy theory of red/green/blue/yellow version. If you haven't here is the bullet-point short cut:

spoilers
1. Luitenant Surge says something about how electric pokemon helped him in the wars.
2. everyone in the game is either a child or in a biker gang or a criminal organization or old or a woman. The part of a population that doesn't usually take part in wars.
4. Lavender town is creepy as all get out. All of those graves are from the war and that is why the memorial tower was built; a war memorial and a promise to never have a war like that again.

If I wrote up an rp of this war would anyone be interested? I'm not taking sign ups since I haven't even started writing becauseI don't want people to dedicate themselves to something that has a possibility of ending up crappy or different from how they imagined it. BUT it would be cool if you guys gave me some ideas to steal from you.

spoiler continued

it also explains why professor oak has only 3 pokemon left after a lifetime of training and why team rocket has such weak pokemon. everyone has to start over

We actually had a discussion about this a while back, though we never did mention the bit about Lavender town. We started throwing around ideas for a potential RP based around the events, but it never materialized. If it were to come to fruition, I'd be incredibly psyched. There's so much potential and fuel behind the idea that it could easily become a fun and engaging Roleplay- though that all depends on its execution. There are so many ways to go about it given the lack of info on the format of the war, and because of that, how the war would be carried out (as well as the what the war was) is completely- or mostly- up to the creator.

Some people think that the war was isolated in Kanto (and probably Johto as well). Others believe that it was a world war and that the first and second generations are chronologically the last two, thanks to mass extinction. There are other theories as well, but my point is that, were someone to make a "Generation-Killing War" and put it in a framework where it mostly reflects pokemon lore while allowing for some suspension of disbelief, it could be a very good (and expansive) RP.

Don't be mad at me guys :( I'm sorry for disappearing again. First I was having some bad computer problems. After that I was all but failing one of my classes so I've been inflicting some punishment on myself to raise that up. It's been going alright, but I'm still teetering on the edge here. I'm going to stick around for as long as I can. I swear.

All you peeps coming back to roleplay! Welcome back! I'm FINALLY coming back after I said I would...a month ago. Just got caught up with other things and such. Imma be co-GMing a Unova journey RP with Ozymandias so stick around for that ok!~

I've been roleplaying for a long while now, though finding good places to roleplay is always the hard part... >_< I'm also fairly new to this site so I got some looking around to do.
