Challenge Complete.
Today, I begin my adventure in Pokémon Gold. I figure that my eventual team of Meganium, Xatu, and Tyranitar will be able to defeat everyone pretty easily, but we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, I begin the game. Somebody decides to wake me up. I have no idea why, I'm still half asleep. Apparently, I don't remember what time it is either.
Professor Oak goes off on the normal pre-game rant that happens every generation. I speed through it. Now, the time comes to decide my name. As per routine, I choose the name 'Inferno', which just barely fits. I have to be the male character, since in Gold, there is no choice. I don't find it to be that big of a deal, but...
(This can be very misleading.)
Finally, I can truly begin. I rush downstairs, pressing the A button repeatedly to get through everything that the character's mother says. I go into Professor Elm's Lab, and I pick...
Yep, I pick the Grass-Type Chikorita. That's already one member of my team obtained. After everyone is done talking to me, I race through the routes, over to Cherrygrove. The Old Man gives me a map. I heal at the Pokémon Center, and head north. I finally reach his house, and obtain the egg and a Pokédex. Soon, after receiving a call from Elm, I must head back to New Bark. However, on the way back, a mysterious person stops me. We battle, and I win.
(Yes, yes I am. :D)
He runs off, so I pretend that nothing just happened and continue back home. Elm and a cop are talking. Apparently, that dude stole a Pokémon. Huh. Interesting. I tell the cop that his name was 'Silver'.
(unoriginal ftw)
Elm tells me to go get the eight badges.
Yes, thank you. I think I will. :D I get some Pokéballs on the way out. Awesome, now I could capture Larvitar. I go back home, and tell mom that I'm going on an adventure. I decline her offer to save my money, and depart. Yay.
Outside, the first thing that I do is capture my wonderful Larvitar. I run around until one appears.
(Awesome. :D)
I decide to train it up a bit, so it's at least level 10. I also do this to Chikorita, although I only have to train 2 levels. Boy, the next gym is going to be a walk in the park. At last, I travel to Violet City. I battle many trainers, including Youngster Joey, along the way. I capture a Pidgey and a Bellsprout too, for HM purposes.
Now, I decide to take on the Gym first.
It's pretty easy, but darn Mud-Slap ends up making all of Larvitar's Bite attacks miss, then faint. Chikorita nearly has the same fate. But luckily, it didn't. I get the badge, and then obtain the Togepi egg from Elm's assistant. I leave it in my party because I'm too lazy to use the PC. Anyway, I heal and head to the Sprout Tower.
I get though pretty quickly, and as quick as I am in, I head out with Flash. On to the next town!
While exiting the city, I talk to a dude, who gives me a Miracle Seed. I give it to Chikorita. I quickly get over to the next Pokémon Center and heal, and enter Union Cave. However, my Chikorita soon evolves into Bayleef. (However, I was too slow to get a shot of this, my bad. D:)
I get out quickly, and defeat the Rockets at the well. Bugsy is next, but I decide to defeat my rival first. Then, I grind just a bit, so Larvitar can learn Rock Slide. Because of this, Bugsy is taken out easily.
(I keep forgetting to get screenshots...but I got this. xD)
Now that all my business was done, I head into the Ilex Forest, and get the kid's Farfetch'd. I obtain Cut, and teach it to Bellsprout. I zip through the forest, battle some trainers, and then I arrive at Goldenrod. I heal, then head into the Department Store, and buy a Fire Punch TM to teach my future Tyranitar. I go into the Radio Tower and get the ability to use my radio on the Pokégear. Next, I go to battle Whitney, who turns out to be a pushover, thanks to Larvitar's Rock Slide.
(I'm a meanie. D:)
I heal, then go into the house where you get the Squirtbottle. After I'm already at the point where you capture Sudowoodo, I remember that I needed to get the Bicycle. I decide to go back for it later. But before that happens...
After I capture Sudowoodo and get to Ecruteak, I defeat the Kimono Girls, and obtain Surf. However, after fighting the Kimono Girl that had Jolteon...
With my awesome Pupitar, I take out my rival and Morty. Bite destroys everyone in the gym, and Rock Slide wrecked Silver's team.
(Yeah, I forgot again.)
I traveled then to Olivine, and got the Good Rod. Time to backtrack. I go back to Ecruteak, and capture a Poliwag for water HM purposes. Then, I head to the Union Cave, and travel through the way to Ruins of Alph. While still inside the Union Cave, my Bayleef evolves.
I battle the Psychic, and capture a Natu.
(Finally.)
It's not long after that this happens:
(Natu only had to gain a level to evolve. xD)
I obtain Strength, and head to Cianwood. Chuck is defeated easily by Xatu and Meganium. Then, I get get Fly, teach it to Xatu, and fly to Olivine. Amphy is given the Secretpotion, so Jasmine leaves. She is also defeated at her gym by Pupitar and Meganium.
I head to Mahogany Town. I go up to the Lake of Rage, and capture the Shiny Gyarados. After this, I speak to Lance. I agree to help him, and head to the suspicious building. After his Dragonite uses Hyper Beam to defeat one of the dudes, we head down the stairs. The statue sets off an alarm, and I must defeat two Rockets. I head slightly south to defeat the Scientist, and shut the alarm off. Basically, I just clear out the whole building, getting all the passwords and whatnot. After the Electrodes are defeated, I head to the gym, where I take out Pryce quite easily.
(Me too.)
Elm calls me. Apparently, the Radio Tower's broadcast is screwed up. So lets see what we can do. :D
The tower is invaded. I heal, then climb the tower. The executive in disguise is defeated, and I head off again to find the director. Along the way, I defeat 4 Rockets, my Rival, and 2 burglars. Then, I defeat even more members of Team Rocket once I get into the department store's basement. I get the Card Key from the director, and leave.
I heal once again, then head up the tower for the second time. This time, my final opponent is a executive with a Houndour, Houndoom, and a Koffing. Pupitar takes them all out with Rock Slide. Finally, I can go to Blackthorn.
I traverse through the Ice Cave, obtaining Waterfall, and making it through quite easily. The Blackthorn Gym turns out to be quite easy. I just move some boulders, battle, and win.
(Yes. Yes you did.)
Now I'm ready for the League. I decide to get the Master Ball from Elm, then I head to Kanto. Through Tohjo Falls I go easily. Before I know it, I'm at Victory Road. (Did I mention how much I
love Victory Road in this game?) I find TM26, which is Earthquake, immediately. Then, I take on Silver one last time. He gets wrecked. I head up to the League just to heal, then I go back to Victory Road to train a bit more. Soon, Pupitar evolves, and I teach it Earthquake.
(<3)
My entire team is around level 50, so I begin the E4. They all go down pretty easily, without any problems.
Now, I battle Lance, the Champion. As you can imagine, Rock Slide just dominates his entire team, and I defeat him.
This now means that the Gold portion of this Ultimate is over, and completed in only six hours. :D I will be getting to Emerald version ASAP.
