5th Segment
Arcaneum's Soul Silver save

Was kinda excited for Claire cuz she is cool and uses Dragon types. Started by boxing Kanto pokemon and getting Johto Pokemon. This is what it looked like:
Spoiler:

Whatever, I proceeded to train Mareep into Ampharos and then proceeded towards Blackthorn...before I got stopped. Yah, I needa save Radio tower first :p
Spoiler:

The guard didn't let me sneak in so I became a Rocket grunt. I love Team Rocket and I looked pretty cool. Check out that drip!
Spoiler:

Proceeded to beat up some grunts ... till my rival showed up, craving for some pain. Oh well, a TSUNAMI swept all of his team. The Feraligatr ate all those weak pokemon by himself. The pokemon were stinky though, so my alligator got poisoned and barely survived :p
Spoiler:

Proceeded to defeat the fake leader.tch, such wannabes. Can never match Giovanni. I pushed him down the tower after he lost LOL cuz he didn't have that Mafia drip.
Spoiler:

Saved Johto, yay! Now wait till US, team Aqua, take over! Anyway, flew back to that Old Cold man's city(idk the lame name) on my level 2 Hoot-Hoot (LOL), stole all items I could find at Lake of Rage and proceeded East. Beat up everyone in my way. The ice path was such a pain :/ spammed repels. Saw someone and pushed them away on the ice so they would slide and get hurt. Turned out to be a lady. Guess what? She thanked me LOL came outta there. Massacred the dragon type gym. Defeated Claire but she started yapping and didn't gimme the badge LOL. On top of that, she kept spamming full restores so I barely won :p what a gym leader, spams restores to win all day and starts yapping when she loses lmao pathetic, disappointing
Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Anyway, here's important stuff:
I abided by my restrictions by not using a single Kanto pokemon in Johto region.

ALSO MORE TASKS COMPLETED
Used two HootHoots and one Sentret from Route 29 (and they actually turned out to be useful this time lol) so 6 more points.

6th Segment
5qwerty's Emerald save

Opened file. Got outta Flannery's gym. May bumped in and started yapping something, then blasted off. I entered pokemon centre, healed all my homies and boxed Gyarados for my restriction. Here's what the team looked like:
Spoiler:

Nothing to do in this segment. Just ran off to Slateport, caught Electrike, took the ferry to Petalburg via Dewford and went straight to Petalburg gym. Changed my party a bit for Task. Defeated every trainer in the gym before wiping out Norman. 3 pokemon got one hit KO'd. Slaking, however, I leech seeded and waited a bit before using Sky Uppercut - didn't want to risk getting a reversal on my Breloom, ya know. Easy win. Party after battle:
Spoiler:

Spoiler:

TASKS COMPLETED: Used two Linoone and one Zigzagoon passively in battle against Norman. One of them is from Route 102 while other two are from Route 103. 6 points earned.

Team: Aqua
Class: Psychic
Restriction: Must have 2 Ghost or Psychic type pokémon in your party at all times.
Save: kpac_xjinx's Fire Red save
Segment: 8/13 Cerulean City -> Fuchsia City

Picking up the save I did my standard opening route of going to the PC to collect my psychic types. I spotted a Drowzee and took her for the next gym as it was a poison type. There was a lot to do here with going to clear out the game corner and lavender tower (where I caught Ghostboi the female ghastly...) before taking the cycle path down to Fuchsia. I went through the safari zone to get the teeth and surf, I forgot to give the teeth to the warden though. I wasn't able to complete my task. I thought for a while but couldn't think of a way. Hopefully next segment!

Spoiler:

Another badge obtained, this time against Clay in my own save! I... have to admit, the team I received was not that great for me. Pignite and Roggenrola were doing well, there was an Eevee (still unevolved) that could come in useful, but Sewaddle and Azurill, nowhere to be seen. Also, I did get a Magnemite and a Koffing, but they wouldn't have been able to do much against Clay.

How to solve the problem? Huge Power Marill, caught on Route 6 after a lot of bad encounter luck. Singlehandedly defeated Clay's gym with just some help from Pignite against Krokorok. Unfortunately, no task points for me here... seven segments done, still 6 points up for grabs for my task. Hopefully soon.

Save on Discord as usual, next up will be tenthcompanion for the Skyla segment!

Aroma Lady Tour update!
Segment 2/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

My first adventure in the Hoenn region! and to say it was eventful isn't even scratching the tip of it!

My first quest was to find a pokémon to help with surfing, so, after getting myself a marill, I surfed the seas and came across a tentacool! naming it boris, it helped me cross the seas of Hoenn (even found a Mawile while exploring!) allowing me to head to its eastern portion, having been greeted by Latias, a fight to protect Latios had started, however, thanks to Graveler and Boris, they were a none issue!
Capture d'écran 2024-07-20 152159.png
The onslaught of battles following it was rather tough! however, thanks to Electrike's and Combusken's evolutions, the various battles, be it against Team Magma or our friend Brendan, they were a no issue! They did offer to give me a pokémon named "Castform" but I didn't want to accept any gifts, afterall, helping the weather institution was more than enough!... also I had a full team so that's another reason why haha.

The battle against Winona itself was rather easy! Manectric and Kecleon truly showed her flying type team who was truly the speediest of the bunch, and therefore, the 6th badge within this reimagined Hoenn was in our trainer case!

7th Segment
Jbsundown's Ruby save

Nice, my segment in Ruby started off from the end of the segment I had just played in Emerald, noice. Adjusted the team a bit for Restrictions and Tasks.
Spoiler:

Travelled from Petalburg to Slateport. Reached Mawile and saw a weirdo I had seen before. The gym leader didn't even ask and simply handed over the tasks to me 🙄 whatever, did the generator thing and proceeded towards Fortree. Reached the Weather institute to PUNK those Team Magma members, their leader is an idiot too LOL. Respect for the Admin Courtney though. Genuine respect ❤️ and love for her. Such a Queen, cool af and an ideal for me.
Spoiler:

Got a Castform, proceeded North West and faced rival. She sucked. Thank Arceus she gave me an HM, I was gonna throw her in the nearby lake. Proceeded till I reached Fortree. Realised I needed some more training, but didn't wanna grind the bushes. Guess what? Cleared Mt.Pier, both the routes between Mt.Pier and Mawile City, as well as the route from Mt Pier to Lilycove. Didn't do a single thing in Lilycove though, except healing at pokemon centres, buying 99 Max Repels and wreaking havoc on May cuz she wouldn't get aside from the damn door!(Of the department store).
Spoiler:

Deposited stuff because ma bag got full ;-;
Spoiler:

Usual drill- killed everyone inside Gym except the Leader and our sidekick. One hit KO'd everything except Altaria. Altaria? Well, didn't take no risks and first let Lairon and Castform weaken it. Easy win.
Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

TASKS COMPLETED: The Zigzagoon, Mightyena and Kirlia are from Route 102(Fifth-first accessible area). 6 points for the task.

crap I've not been updating this at all

Segment 2:
Took Arc's SoulSilver and beat Bugsy. Had 3 quick attackers on my team.

Segment 3:
Same crap as before, Breloom, Treecko, and Taillow. I killed Wattson super duper quick so made progress on my goal.

Segment 4:
Took Chr. Draco's Sapphire at Roxanne and fought through to Brawly. I had Grovyle with Quick attack and also two Taillows (with Quick Attack). I used one of the Taillows to beat Brawly. I think I put I didn't make progress towards my task in the form but I actually did because I beat him in 3 turns.

Team: Magma
Class: Ruin Maniac
Restriction: Only catch things in caves (plus gifts)
Segment: 8/13
Save: Janp's Fire Red file
Objective: Badge 8

Fires this off before getting busy(/busier) tomorrow. Could have gone straight to Giovanni and wrecked the gym. Leveled up Pokemon for the next person instead. Had a good number of choices, thanks to Eleanor grabbing the Experience Share.

Aroma Lady Tour update!
Segment 3/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

[Task Completed]

After having heard some happening in Johto, I decided to go over, in my team, a Sunkern, a Graveler, a Vileplume and a Vaporeon.

Making it to Mahogany town and needing some items, I deicded to make it to the store, only to realize all they were selling were Slowpoke Tails, YUCK!

The treck to the Lake of Rage was a rather simple one, even Janp the Sunkern got to have some fun!
Spoiler:

However, what was at the top of the lake was... quite peculiar, it was like a Gyarados, but red! unsure of what all of that was about, I simply caught it, and placed it directly in the PC, it may be of a different colour, but Gyarados(es?) are classified as being Blue.

Making it out of the lake, I got called out by a weird individual, one wearing a cape, they had seen what had happened, and asked for my help to put a stop to it!
Surprise of Surprise, it was Team Rocket! however, thanks to Petra and Titanic, they were a none-issue!

The troubles of Team Rocket now in the past, it was time to collect the 7th badge of the Johto region, and with a Sunkern and Vaporeon on my team, I was not going to let my task be!

The battle began with Janp VS. Pryce's Seel, while the fight was simple enough, with Janp being able to recover a good amount of help thanks to Mega Drain, Icy Wind lowering its speed didn't exactly help it in the long run, however, just before fainting, Janp set up a sunny day! allowing Petra to finish it off with the help of a Fire Punch!
Spoiler:

The sun still raging on, Pryce's next pokémon was a Piloswine, Petra managed to get half of its HP out with a well placed Fire Punch, however got rather unlucky due to a Critical Blizzard from Piloswine.

Seeing how the stakes had changed, my next pokémon was Titanic the Vaporeon, not awaiting a single second, Titanic started to change the rays of the sun into a thousand rain drops, boosting its water powers and finishing off Piloswine!
Spoiler:

Using the same rain, the final fight against Dewgong was, with a mix of Surf and Bite, the battle was soon over, and therefore, the badge was now ours!

8th Segment
My own Fire Red save

Opened the game after a while- the last I played was Vermillion saga. The team looks like people before me did a good job. Boxed or withdrew a thing or two though, perhaps(hazy mehmery).
Spoiler:

Could fly, but used the route East of Fuschia to reach Vemillion. This duo kinda iconic:
Spoiler:

Found a Snorlax, so I let it sleep; ended up using Fly at the very end of my journey lol. Walked north for Saffron. Thought it's just gym but I forgot...
Spoiler:

Mfs took over Saffron and Silph
While busy defeating mafia, rival again did his bs. However, Snorlax solo'd them punks.
Spoiler:

So many grunts. So much blood. All of them dead. Giovanni left. Guess what? Underleveled Venusaur solo'd him LOL worse than my rival
Spoiler:

Not sure if this will get used...
Spoiler:

Also defeated the fighting dojo, forgotta mention. Anyways, Saffron gym was easy. Snorlax didn't take a scratch. Explains why she couldn't do a damm thang against Giovanni in her own city LOL
Spoiler:

Segment done.

Spoiler:

(Yah, I forgot to take a screenshot after battle. Only realised I hadn't uploaded my team and took it just now. Fun fact? It's not necessary any longer. Already completed my tasks by last segment. Well, atleast this will come handy, in the off chance I did something wrong in one of the saves for task.)

Janp's Baton Pass Challenge - Segment 5

For my next segment, I got Devalue's Crystal save again.

I started by switching up my team a little bit and ended up with Vileplume, Quilava, Graveler and Vaporeon.

I did a quick look up on Bulbapedia a figured out I can complete my Task. All I had to do was to catch Sunkern, level it up to level 19 to learn Sunny Day and backtrack to Slowpoke Well and pick TM Rain Dance.

While on my way there, I encountered Entei. I chugged an Ultra Ball at it just for fun and... managed to catch it!
1721551348790.png

Next players can probably use it. I boxxed it for now. I also had to box Quilava, since Sunkern is also yellow and I need it.

The battle with Jasmine was fairly straightforward. I started with Vileplume and put her Magnemite to sleep with Sleep Powder. I then switched to Sunkern, set up Sunny Day and then switched to Vaporeon, changing the weather to rain.

Her Magnemite then woke up and beat Vaporeon with super-effective attacks. I sent out Graveler, and while I beat her Magnemite, I got bad rolls on Magnitude and lost to Steelix. I was down on my last Pokémon - Vileplume with Absorb as its only worthwhile move against Steel-types. All while having level 40 Entei in box. So I slowly chipped away Steelix's HP, while keeping it asleep. All while having level 40 Entei in box. I almost run out of PP for Absorb at the end of the battle, but won.

I have completed my task, and what a way to do it!

I was playing tenthcompanion's Omega Ruby save in the Tate & Liza segment. Lots of potential for new encounters, lots of trainers to fight, and so on - all with a team that honestly, was quite difficult for me to pick up! I had to ditch the Blaziken and Manectric in the team and I clearly struggled to replace them. I somehow scraped by against the rival fight in Lilycove with just a Graveler, a Kecleon, a very underlevelled Tropius and a Tentacool.

Then, possibly just out of spite for using the same Pokémon everytime, I ended up catching a Pelipper, for the resident Water type (I couldn't catch Wingull because it's too fast, but Pelipper loses speed upon evolving), and a Cacnea. I soon realized why no one uses Cacturne, obviously, but I still tried my best to train her up. I named her Enemy to make a nice parallel with Friend the Shroomish, who... I evolved into Breloom way too early, completely misreading the level up learnset and thinking that at least in ORAS, Spore wasn't just for Shroomish to learn (apparently, that's a gen 9 thing). Sorry everyone :(

The star of the team, however, was evidently Enigma the Absol, who I caught on Route 120 and brought along for most of the important fights against Team Magma (both on Mt. Pyre and at their Lilycove base). 75 base speed was just perfect for me too.

Now, though, let's talk about Tate and Liza. I'm so so proud of this battle, even if my strategy wasn't executed perfectly, and I am so glad I was able to get one last Explosion kill in this battle, of all things.

They only have Solrock and Lunatone in Omega Ruby, and both resist Explosion. Also, its power is no longer doubled due to that bug that existed up to gen 4. But Lunatone literally only has Psychic as an attacking move, leaving much space for Dark-types to do whatever they want. And I had two (and a half!) of them in my team. I started off with Cacturne and Absol, taunting Lunatone to prevent Hypnosis strats and trying to hit Solrock. It didn't work the first time because of a Rock Slide flinch, but Solrock went down the next turn as Lunatone could only spam Psychic.
The next turn I sent in Kecleon and hit it with Night Slash from my own Absol. This turned Kecleon into a Dark-type due to color change. Ironically that attack was a critical hit, which left Kecleon with just 5 HP, but now its ability made it immune from the oncoming Psychic, so it was all good. Next turn, Substitute with Kecleon and Hyper Potion using Absol's turn. This made Kecleon literally invincible now, since Lunatone couldn't touch it in any way! And so, I could use Kecleon to freely spam Screech to my heart's content. In the meantime, I had Absol trying to weaken Lunatone with Psycho Cut, which despite its resistance, first brought down Lunatone into healing range with a crit, and then - as Tate and Liza healed - brought Lunatone to half health, a sweet spot for the oncoming Explosion.

All I had to do at that point was find a good way to switch in Graveler. I brought along Tropius for the gym badge and had it sent in here - being essentially an HM slave with a very low level, Lunatone was able to KO it easily with some of its last Psychic PPs, paving the way for Graveler to enter the field. At first, Graveler was hit with Hypnosis while Kecleon simply stalled turns - and yeah, I admit I should've prepared for that by giving Graveler a Chesto Berry - but that only delayed the inevitable. Full Heal on Kecleon's turn and Explosion on Graveler's, and that was the battle over and done with. And my task too!

What can I say... I really love this kind of moments. Even if my strat was far from perfect in hindsight. It''s why I love the Challenges section so much.

Anyways - save is on discord as usual, as I wait for another team member to pick it up from here <3

CoolKid575's Crystal save

Came outta Mahogany gym and got some call. Healed pokemon and adjusted party according to restrictions:
Spoiler:

(From top: Feraligatr, Crobat, Quagsire, Unown, Sudowoodo, Hoothoot)

Proceeded to knock out untouched trainers at Lake of Rage. Then flew back to Mahogany. Proceeded East, no one stopping??? Walked through the ice path till I reached Blackthorn. Understood the difference between remake and original. Flew to Goldenrod. No rocket costume? Sadge. Eraser rain in tower, eraser rain in underground. Saved the old man. Used lift to move boxes. Went back to the tower. Wannabe Giovanni, crushed again. My rival's very weak in this game, though.
Spoiler:

Flew back to Mahogany. The gym looks way cooler here than in remakes.
Spoiler:

Defeated that karen. She didn't gimme the badge, obviously. Oh well.
Spoiler:

Spoiler:

(Yah, sorry, forgot to screenshot team before healing and saving at PokeCentre again. I do remember well though, that Crobat took 3 Dragonair out before letting Kindra save Claire's pseudo-pride by letting Kingdra win, while Quagsire did chip damage and then went to the hospital. Totoro ended it fast, though. Nais.)

Team: Aqua
Class: Psychic
Restriction: Must have 2 Ghost or Psychic type pokémon in your party at all times.
Save: kpac_xjinx's Fire Red save
Segment: 9/13 Saffron City -> Cinnabar Island

This was another super quick segment! Switching the pokémon in my team over to pick up the Lapras and Ghastly (Ghostboi) I just had to hop on down to Cinnabar from Pallet Town, find the key in the mansion and go beat up Blaine with a Lapras that had Surf. Then his Arcanine got a crit which KO'd the Lapras forcing me to bring out Hypno who eventually took them down with Psychic spam!

I was able to complete my Task by swapping in Ghostboi to a Stomp from Blaine's Ponyta!

Aroma Lady Tour update!
Segment 4/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

[Task Completed]

Back within Hoenn, this time with 7 badges! the adventure was quite eventful, for the devilish Team Magma had managed to fulfill their plan with awakening Groudon!
The battle against their leader Maxie was... actually quite an easy one, I didn't expect his Mega Camerupt to simply faint to a self-destruct from Graveler, but oh well!

However, it was too late, Maxie couldn't control Groudon, and the world was about to dry up due to the power of the sun!

Having been given the instruction to follow the Red Menace, I had arrived to it's main domain, it's transformation was horrific to behold... it had turned primal!
Capture d'écran 2024-07-21 195931.png
The battle was fierce, with the introduction of moves I didn't even know existed! but after a bit, Groudon had been caught, not to be used, but to be contained for however long necessary.
Capture d'écran 2024-07-22 002113.png
Team Magma having been defeated once and for all and the world being saved, I could get back on track with getting my 8th badge!
With the help of Enemy the Cacturne, the fight wasn't anything too hard! However, once Seaking had defeated Enemy, it had set up Rain Dance, it was therefore time for Nugget to come out!
It's speed seamingly having doubled under the rain, Nugget had received a nasty Waterfall attack, not one it couldn't tank however, which allowed it to counter the rain with the help of Sunny Day!
Capture d'écran 2024-07-22 003926.pngCapture d'écran 2024-07-22 004129.png
With the help of the now Sun boosted Blaze Kick, Nugget the Blaziken managed to defeat the remainder of Wallace's team, thus, earning us the 8th badge of the Hoenn League!

Segment 7
Eleanor's White 2 Save

After an annoying setback where my game didn't save and I had to do stuff all over again, the Skyla fight was easy. Magnemite evolved into Magneton and then again into Magnezone in Chargestone Cave. So I was able to take her out easily with Magnezone, Boldore and Azumarill (just a good tanky 'mon). My final task points earned for matching her with three non-over leveled pokemon and no items in battle. Sorry for the short update but I am v sleepy

I forgot how long the section between gym 2 and 3 is in DP! I caught a Bronzor with a decent nature (neutral), but I later realized it had Heatproof. I felt like Levitate would be preferred, so I tried to catch another with a decent nature. It ended up taking too long, so I settled for Impish, which at least has a Def boost. There was a big level jump at gym 3, but I was able to deal with it thanks to Golbat. I abused Intimidate switch-ins vs. Maylene.
